Abbie makes the process of baring your soul and all the bad things that might have happened in your life much easier just by knowing that there is a compassionate person on the other end who understands non-judgmentally. Additionally, Abbie has a plethora of expertise and I find that to be reassuring. Abbie is able to understand the 'why' behind my actions and help explain them. This insight is integral to breaking cycles and changing behaviors, and honestly eye opening and life changing. Please, if you're on the fence about reaching out- do it. Abbie is the least judgmental person and has a talent of making difficult subjects easier to talk about. Abbie is also really flexible with scheduling which is great because we live in different time zones. I regret not reaching out to her when I lived in Chicago, but I'm thankful I have taken the steps now after moving to to the coast. Her price is fair given her expertise and knowledge level. Even with all of her success (she's written books and numerous published articles), she is easy to talk to and humble.

The clinician on the phone was very nice, but when I went to see her for the first time she had no business cards to hand out, and for all I know she could have been a stranger on the street counseling me. It appears that the owner has not updated the website for a while, and does not seem to even be promoting the therapists that she does have. The therapist herself was very professional, nice, and seemed to know her stuff, but I just couldn't get over the fact that she had been working at Dynamic Directions for almost a year and their was nothing so much as a business card with her name on it. It seems mostly like poor and cheap ownership, which made me feel so bad for her counselors, but also made me feel like this was not the place for me to go. Also, if you can't even afford a billing person, then it makes me think that the practice in general is failing.
