And you can see the workers as they are fixing customers cars and if they come upon any issues or problems they will let the manager know so they can let the customer know that it can be fixed. Before going to Hiram's Discount Tire, I read some reviews. There was a mixture of positive (praised the quality and speed of service) and negative (criticized the wait time) reviews. So when I went there to get a flat tire looked at/replaced, I went in with those reviews in mind. After waiting for maybe 5 minutes, I was quickly checked in by a salesperson. We went to my SUV and looked at my tire. Without hesitation, he told me that I will need to replace the tire. Luckily for me they had a similar tire in stock. Giving them 1 star when it should be 0! I went in last week because of a leak in my rear tire. It was because of a crack in my wheel so I either needed a wheel replacement or 4 new wheels. So I brought my car in last Friday and one of the sales guys helped me order a set of new wheels(rims) and he convinced me to order 2 new tires for the front wheels. Fast forward a week later my wheels and tires have arrived so I schedule an appointment. I get to my appointment and the "new" sales guys does a walk around my vehicle and states that one of my back tires is almost bald and I would not only need a new tire, but I will need a set of rear tires because he doesn't "recommend" that I just buy one new rear tire even thought the other rear tire was in the green at a 7! I was already $1700 in the whole last Friday, but today you're adding 2 more tires and the price goes up to $2300! I will NEVER take my car or my wife car to ANY Discount Tire moving forward! My wife and I have been coming here for over 8 years. We've always been treated fairly, the staff is competent and professional. Example: I bought a set of tires for my Ram 2500 megacab, Michelin Defenders, and they are so big and quality I paid over $1600. These guys do a great job of mount and balancing, they call you to follow up, and make sure you get your rotations done on time. Brent is the gent we usually deal with, he always goes the extra mile to make sure we are satisfied with our purchase, makes sure we get the best deal and match all competitors prices, and treats us like "gold-star" customers. I was impressed. They seem like a good business. There were no appointment slots available online, so I decided to try my luck by walking in one Saturday morning. They were able to take me within two hours. They have a clean waiting area with WiFi and bottled water available. Everyone handled me courteously and professionally, including both desk workers and techs. My sole complaint is that they didn't call me when the car was finished; I was next door at the Arby's, and when I saw that my car had been sitting back in the parking lot for 20 minutes, I came back and asked them if it was finished, and it was; the key was still in the tech's envelope and the desk fellows just hadn't gotten to it yet. They will quickly sell you tires and give you great service BUT when its time for you to have free rotations and balancing and scheduling your appointment they have a lot to be desired. The last 3 times I've serviced my vehicles I had to wait over an hours (as much as 2) All had appointments and they tell you you will be completed before an hour WRONG!! Today I asked for compensation as they were again not within an hour. They said they didn't compensate. Just apologize! I knew that I would have quite a wait because it was Friday afternoon. Well I was correct, I had a 2 hr wait. I didn't have time to make an appointment because I needed a tire ASAP. I was greeted upon entering. When it was my turn, my tires were checked and I was told that I would need a new tire. (Which I already knew but they're just doing their job) I stated that I had a coupon for a free balance and rotation but I was told to keep it. They did it on the house. The waiting area was spacious. No one likes being cramped, I was pleased with that. The restrooms were in decent condition but didn't have any paper towels to dry my hands with. I had an appointment but when I arrived there was a long line of walk-ins in front of me and a full lobby of customers waiting for their cars. There should be a line for appointments and one for walk-in's to make it more efficient. When I finally got to the counter, the sales associate repeatedly tried to sell me expensive tires on an old and little used car. He asked me so many times that it was irritating. How many times do I have to say NO. Honestly!! Then he tried to sell me an additional tire that we didn't need (my husband had already checked the tread). I stressed to the sales guy that we did not want to spend any extra money on this car which is rarely used. The whole time this upselling is going on, we're wasting time which I already wasted waiting in the long line. Without asking me first, the salesman said "go ahead and sign over there". It was the credit card machine so I asked why am I paying now before the work is done?! He said to save time and I won't have to wait in line again to pay when it's done. The amount was significantly higher than the price of the tires quoted so I asked why. He added $15 per tire road hazard protection (and other fees) without asking AFTER I told him I wanted the cheapest tire and didn't want to spend money on this car. I told him to remove it. He tried to convince me to keep it. I said no. He said he couldn't take it off, it already went through. We had to wait for a manger to refund-another delay. Then they tell me they can't start on it for at least 45 minutes, maybe longer. I sit down and listen to others in the lobby who had appointments and have been there almost 3 hours. Then I overheard a young man (customer) at the counter deciding which all new fancy wheels and tires he should put on his car. When he decided after 20 minutes, the salesman told him the car would be done in 45 minutes! Excuse me! I can only assume, since he bought a whole new set of expensive wheels and tires, everyone else is pushed to the back of the line. There were many senior citizens who had been there hours but the almighty dollar wins!! That was the last straw. I found the manager and asked to cancel the transaction and left. I paid a few dollars more for tires at my local mechanic. Totally worth to avoid the disaster of this place!! The wig and I had an awesome experience this afternoon at this particular Discount Tire and I wanted to recognize the young man that helped us. One of my wife's tires in on her vehicle kept losing air. I was thinking it was because of the cold but after it continued I figured it must have a leak. I called kind of late in the day and spoke with Timothy Calhoun and he said come on and from the time I called the tire was repaired in less than an hour. That's what I call service. Also he didn't charge us a dime. I've dealt with Discount Tire before and would consider myself loyal but this guarantees I will continue with them. I arrived at Discount Tires in Hiram Georgia on 3/20/21 at 2:30pm with a tire that was almost flat from a huge nail. The guy at the counter said, let me take a look. After looking at my tire I told him I would like to go ahead and replace all 4 tires, he said we are booked and have an additional 15 customers and that I would need to return on Monday. I asked him could they just replace or repair the one tire so that I could make it home. He refused and said that I would make it to Monday. Well, I didn't make it home or until Monday, my tire went flat and I was on the side of the road. Good customer service or someone who is caring would have spoken with their manager to assist that customer. Next time think of how you would have felt if that was your mother or daughter. Dropped car off on Friday evening knowing my tire would be repaired on Saturday morning, no problem. Saturday comes around and I'm told I should receive a call around 11am to pick it up (cool). 11am comes and nothing, so I decide to call around noon to see what's going on. It had been sitting there for an hour but no one decided to call (strike one). Go to pick up the car and have to wait cause they like to take their time and shoot the breeze with each other (strike two). Once I get in the car I see "low tire pressure" on my dash but I chalked it up to it being two other tires and not the brand new one they replaced. I get home and see that it was the brand new tire that I bought that had low tire pressure. How does a company not have a procedure set in place to make sure the tire is filled with air?
