You will find this mural on the side of a 100-year old building. It is the work of Zach Medler (ZMED), who was assisted by a group of eight high school students. It was painted in 2013 under the Tippecanoe Arts Federation (TAF) After School Arts Program (ASAP) and the Mural Arts Initiative. It is a very busy mural and depicts a bunch of people, including a Statue of Liberty image, and people with various color faces all with their heads down and faces in their phones. That was back in 2013 mind you. it is much worse and we are even more "DisConneted" now, ten years later. You will also see some blank pop up boxes in the mural. The art work is very nice and the message that it is sending is clear. How many people do you think just passed this mural by without even noticing because they were disconnected. The painting is 10 years old and the elements have taking a toll on it. it is weather and fading, but still hanging in there. I am rating this mural as a whole and the message really rings home with me, hence the 5 stars.
This mural is located in a neighborhood. So, parking here is easy. There is a lot of street parking available for you to park. Anyway, as with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other attractions in the area, or making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip. There is a ton of street art in this area to view. read more
