Backhaus Hennig is a very large baking company with stores located throughout the Leipzig area and…read morepossibly beyond. In its main (Industrial) bakery they not only sell their bread and pastry seven days a week but also have an area in this bakery where you can order meals . Very popular with the Germans is breakfast and on any given Sunday the sit down eating place is jam full. The breakfast menu is varied and you could have anything from fresh squeezed orange juice to eggs, cold cuts, pastry and coffee to hot chocolate drinks. I've eaten there many times and the food was good and filling. My last trip there my friend and I ordered the Irish breakfast and it was a big disappointment to say the least. The bacon, eggs, fried bread was so greasy that neither I or my friend could finish eating it. The bowl of beans on the side didn't add anything to the meal. There was no tomato or cucumbers served with the dish that you could bite into to get rid of the greasy taste in your mouth and for 13€ a plate it was disgusting overpriced as well. Complained to the Cashier but her only response was I'll let the kitchen know you did not enjoy your meal. Maybe Hennig should stick to the continental breakfast routine and leave the Irish breakfast to the Irish and not the Saxons.
