This company may be fine if they are working directly for you but when they are working for someone else and your property is in the way, they do not care.
They drilled in my yard for Altafiber to bring fiber into my neighborhood, not my house specifically. My HOA sent out a notification to let Altafiber know if you had a sprinkler system, an underground dog fence or landscape lighting. I have all 3. I called Altafiber twice to let them know . When they showed up to do the work I told them that they were digging in the area of my dog fence. I noticed that the wire was fully exposed but not cut and pointed it out to the man working. Later they put their machine across my driveway blocking all vehicles in the garage for several hours without notifying me first.
I again went out when they began work on that side of the driveway and told them where the dog fence was on that side. The gentleman did not speak English so I went and found a worker who did and he told me he explained the situation to him.
About an hour later I went back into my garage and the fence monitor was beeping. I walked back to the original open hole that I had pointed out the exposed wire and it was now cut. I again went to find the English speaker and told him. He and the worker went to the hole and then left. I went and asked if he was going to fix it and he said it wasn't the wire, it was a tree root. I walked him back over and showed him the clearly cut wire. They did ultimately fix it.
On the other side of the driveway the ground was clearly buckled upwards where they had drilled causing a long mound in my yard. The holes they had backfilled were way too low and I still had the mound by my driveway. I went out and mowed and edged the same as I always have for 6 years and the dog fence was beeping again. I looked and the area where they had pulled the dirt upwards , they pulled the wire to the surface with it so I cut it with my edger .
I again had to go find the jobsite supervisor in my neighborhood. I showed him the cut wire. I also showed him the mounded dirt that had raised the wire up. He agreed with everything I said and then said he would fix the wire and re compact the dirt using a power compacter. When he came back his story had changed and it was ll my fault for edging. I called the supervisor and he said they would fix it but it was my fault. I have edged the driveway with the same edger for 6 years. I showed the guys on site that the edger only goes 1/2" deep and the wire should hav been more that 2" deep. they still refused to accept responsibility or provide any guarantees of their work in writing. They did splice the wire and compact he dirt, which seems a strange thing to do if it wasn't raised but said they wouldn't fix it again if it failed
I then had my sprinkler guy come check all my sprinklers in the area where they worked. He said one was broken and it appeared the pipe had been pulled on. I again contacted the contractor, Brandon, After reviewing the pictures, surprise surprise, it wasn't their fault. So I just had the unfortunate luck of cutting my dog fence and having a sprinkler failure in the area they were working, immediately following that work, but it was completely unrelated to them. Strange
If you think these guys are going to be in your neighborhood, document and photograph everything you can think of before they begin. They absolutely will not take responsibility for any damage they do. read more
