There is an advanced process but it's straight forward and online. If you already have the TSA Pre Check, you have already done a lot of the heavy lifting. The final step is to go to the local US Customs and Immigration to show up, show your face, bring your passport and a valid driver's license, get finger printed and confirm some details and right there on the spot, you get your number and confirmation. By the time I got back to the office, I received an email with an attachment confirming all. Boom! Now waiting for my card in the mail. The card is good for 5 years. I actually wouldn't mind doing this more often--it was that pleasant. One of the best federal government interactions I have possibly ever had. On time, professional, exceptional service.
