After 5 weeks of travelling, tons of walking and no pilates classes, my back was starting to ache…read more Yoga Studio Barcelona was the closest to our Airbnb so I booked in. The instructor was great and the style of yoga being instructed was enjoyable, had a great flow and was very soothing as it stretched out my limbs. A couple of negatives to my experience was that the website said first timers only get charged 7 Euro, but when I mentioned this at reception the staff member told me I was incorrect and that it's 14 Euro. I didn't dispute it. The other was that the yoga studio had no air-conditioning and it was the middle of summer! Is it natural style bikram?! Perhaps air-conditioning is not that common in Barcelona, but I struggled in the class's heat as an Australian who is used to warm weather. A tip on finding the business: It's in an office style looking building from the outside, and you have to walk up a few flights of stairs.

Couldn't be happier with the level of care and attention that I received from each instructor. Thank you. Seriously. Sometimes, you get lost in the routines of yoga studio that you've never been to, but here, everyone was incredibly kind and attentive. Alexandra's classes were truly perfection-- a great balance between challenging postures, inversions and balances as well as restorative pauses. I was in my first trimester and Alexandra was not only informative, but hands on with adjustments and modifications, explaining thoroughly with each change and this was a regular Hatha class, not a prenatal. It's impressive how much attention she gives to each student and how gracefully she maintains the flow and intensity of the class. Dope!!! What a blessing to have randomly found her classes! Highly, highly recommend. I also went to a few prenatal classes with María and she was wonderful too! I think it was a bit too early for me to be in those classes though, because while incredibly informative, I still didn't have the belly limitations. Great to learn for the future though-- applicable as the belly does grow Clean, spacious studio with natural light. Lockers for your belongings if you'd like (but bring a loose 1 euro to lock the door-- you'll get it back, but you'll need it to lock it up). I didn't use a lock and was totally fine. Great studio!!

Terrible terrible place. Coming from a studio in California which I loved and after reading good…read morereviews I still cannot believe how bad the place and treatment is. My first time there I wasn't instructed where the bathroom or class room was so of course I had to ask. Then throughout the class the teachers all expect you to drink water when they want and not when you NEED to. Same goes for leaving the class if you can't be there cause you feel sick, you are told NOT to leave and if you plan to do so to not come to class. People at this studio have to calm down. I understand this is your religion or something, but some of us are just here to get a workout and a stretch - not to be told to close my mouth and not drink water or leave if I want to. My health goes will always go before your beliefs, so if I feel like I need water or to leave the room I will do that when I please. It's supposed to be a stress free environment and I find myself more stressed here than anywhere else on my day. The staff must be reminded that we are the paying customers and that this IS NOT a mandatory class or a free class or am I being payed by the studio to take these classes. Showers are open like a sex club so there is no privacy which in my case is important, so I end up having to go home drenched in sweat. Also it is the same class every single day which is quite ridiculous and boring. If someone had done their job right I would've had this information prior to paying but of course that wasn't the case. I'm only attending because I prepaid some classes but luckily only 10 of them. The flooring is not suitable or built for sweat. It's just plain hardwood floor and everyone ends up walking barefoot over everyone's sweat (gross and unsanitary) and possibly slipping if not careful. What else can I possibly say? Never again.

Studio 180 and the owner, Fiona, provides quality instruction and the quaint, authentic environs of the old city. As I take Pilates back in the States, I signed up to take Studio 180's signature morning Pilates class. There were two other ladies in class with me, one Spanish speaking and the other spoke English. Fiona easily kept both languages up, in a calming but firm voice, and lead us through a vigorous but not painful hour class. The studio is on a quiet street, up a bit of a hill (pre-workout warm up! post workout cool down!), in the safe and mulit-national neighborhood of Poble Sec. It took me just 4 minutes walk up from Av Paralel and the metro stop (purple or green line, exit on the Nou de la Rambla side, near the Apolo). Really liked the tranquil feel of this small, but spacious studio. It could easily fit 8 clients, so as we were 3 it was lots of room to spread out with the props Fiona's classes provide (at no extra charge) for the class. The overall charge is a bargain at 10€ and she has packages. There are other types of classes too, but haven't tried those yet. Definitely my favorite place to workout in Barcelona and have personalized, excellent instruction. TL/dr: fitness classes in a personalized setting at a great price in historic BCN

I enjoyed the dynamic and engaging conversations during brunch. Although I'm not a vegetarian, I really enjoyed each meal. I also enjoyed how open the environment was and how it led to creating friendships with other participants from diverse parts of the world. They communicate with you constantly to ensure that your check-in is smooth. The only drawback is the lack of air conditioning in the rooms. This is the only reason this retreat does not get five stars. However, the staff is extremely accommodating and is constantly working on trying to make your stay as pleasant as possible. If I have the chance to participate again, I will return to Barcelona and once more attend this magical retreat. I highly recommend it!

DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE - HEALTH & SAFETY ISSUES & UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT…read more I booked a 7-night stay with Yoga Weeks in Barcelona through BookRetreats.com but cancelled my booking immediately upon arrival due to unacceptable hygiene conditions and significant discrepancies between the property and its online description. HEALTH & SAFETY CONCERNS: * The accommodation was in poor condition, both in terms of hygiene and in its accuracy compared to the listing on the website. Immediately upon using the bathroom, I encountered a huge cockroach in the shower tray, which raises serious hygiene and health concerns for guests. * When I reported this to the cleaner, she acknowledged it was a known issue due to warm pipes. Another staff member further confirmed that despite attempts to disinfect, the infestation persists. This seemed to be a recurring known problem. * In addition, the overall condition of the accommodation (interior, fixtures and furnishings) showed clear signs of neglect: shabby, worn, and poorly maintained. A stark contrast to the clean and inviting environment depicted in the listing. The room I was assigned lacked basic furnishings such as a chair or stool to place my belongings. When I asked the cleaner for one, she directed me to the garden where a couple of damaged red plastic wire chairs were available. The property was clearly misrepresented and did not align with the online advertised standards. UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT * Despite raising the issue immediately with Yoga Weeks (and BookRetreats.com) and asked for a full refund, the owner of Yoga Weeks remained unresponsive for 12 days before ultimately declining to authorise a refund, despite earlier indications to the contrary. * This lack of communication is sadly consistent with my overall experience with Yoga Weeks in Barcelona. * This lack of responsiveness and unwillingness to resolve the matter demonstrated a clear absence of professionalism and accountability. OUTCOME * The whole experience was extremely stressful and disappointing and completely contrary to the purpose of a retreat. * The issues encountered prevented me from staying at the property. I was forced to secure alternative accommodation and shorten my trip because of the additional expense. RECOMMENDATION * Fellow travellers should exercise caution when booking Yoga Weeks in Barcelona. * Based on my experience, the accommodation does not meet advertised standards, and support from both Yoga Weeks and BookRetreats.com was inadequate. * It is advisable not to pay in advance and to inspect the Yoga Weeks accommodation in person before committing. * There are many alternative accommodation options in Barcelona that offer better hygiene, maintenance, and value for money, while yoga classes can be easily arranged separately. Overall, if I could give zero stars for this experience with Yoga Weeks in Barcelona, I would.

They had a great deal, I was able to get one month for only 11 euros! I will say, I recommended doing the registration process at home from a laptop. When I went in to sign up, I had to do it on my phone and it look quite some time for everything to load as I put in my information. As for the equipment inside the gym, I felt there was extensive options to choose from. Lots of cardio machines (treadmill, elliptical, etc.), free weights, mats, etc. The place was very clean, too! The gym also offers a lot of group classes. Although I haven't tried one yet, I'm excited to check them out soon! I look forward to going here over the next few months!

It is a tall gym that has 5 floors and a 90s-00s club vibe. It's really closer to a 4.5 for being a really good value for guests, but it's hard to give 5 stars if you're always waiting on equipment. Pros- full locker room with showers Free WiFi 10$ guess pass !!!! Hours are solid 600a (I know) to 1000p (I believe) Very good lighting and lots of windows Equipment and floor are clean Good amount of cardio equipment (and variety) Machines are newer matrix equipment Open roof for sunbathing Front staff is friendly (and speak decent English) Gym users had a friendly vibe Cons- Where are the Water fountains? Limited weights on the dumbbells (10-40kg) Also dumbbells are the old circle, bouncy kind Too crowded to switch machines, benches, etc Limited amount of plates for the few free weights. Only 1 power and 1 squat rack (always occupied) Limited (and occupied) mirror space
