But as we found out, it didn't really matter. You do need to kind of make eye contact with someone and just start moving towards a table that you want to sit at. You'll get a head nod and someone will be with you shortly. We ordered drinks and lunch at the same time. The drinks came out and the food followed soon after. We were splitting our lunches so they brought us extra plates, which did not seem to cause any confusion. I should mention that the menu was in both German and in English, which is always helpful. The food was good, but I will say not anything special.The wait staff was very nice but they are extremely busy so you need to again make eye contact if you need anything or you want to get the check.

Everyone was whispering, and there was only one table left open, so we sat there. We noticed two other children in the place already had the high chairs and thankfully the last table was a booth. The menu has English below each item, so no need to guess or use google translate and the wait staff is also really nice. We both ordered the duck special. Supposed to be crispy duck with a cranberry, red cabbage risotto. Sounds really yummy and different right? Welllll it wasn't crispy, it was overly sweet and the taste didn't match the texture of the risotto. However my daughter loved the "risotto". We both were really excited about CRISPY duck. Well we got soggy duck with a whole lot of fat. I would come back, only to try the other meals. I wouldn't order the same thing again. Every dish that passed by was so colorful, decorative and looked hands down delicious. Also, I know it says kid friendly. But I personally didn't feel like it was kid friendly. I love the outdoor patio (it's a courtyard and has plants and is attractive). I think there are outdoor heaters in cooler weather. The terrace is a smaller raised platform inside the courtyard, it might be covered which would be nice in case of rain. I have never eaten inside the restaurant building as I'm usually there in nice weather and love the patio. Service is friendly, there is nice wine and some decent beers. I am usually dying to go here after days of German kitchens where my veg options are so limited. Highly recommended. Everyone I know who has been here has loved it. The building was once a brewery and is in Old Town Bamberg and on your way to/from the beer kellers on Oberer Stephensburg.

Paid 60euro per person for New Years Eve, 5 course meal. We were told to be there No later then…read more1830. The first (1 slice of raw Salmon) plate didn't make it out until 1930. We thought the main meal was suppose to be Filet Mignon Steak, but to our surprise, it was 2 small slices of Roast Beef. Although it tasted great, I was not there to pay 120 Euros for a main meal of Roast Beef. The Potatoes that came out with the main meal were cut in a perfect square, giving the idea that it came from a pre made pan, and tasted HORRIBLE. I told our waiter (Mario) about it and to try to fix the problem, he gave my wife and I a shot (Although it was New Year's, we didn't really care for a shot of alcohol to reconcile given we were drinking wine and not in our younger years anymore!). The dessert finally showed up at 2330 and it was a little chunk of ice cream and some terrible panna cotta that we didn't even eat. So from 1750 to 2340, 120 Euros for the meal, 85 Euros for our drinks, 1 free shot, and a not so good meal, we will never do this again with this place. On a side note, we have been here several times on regular occasions. The side dishes are great. Their steak is very very good and we always love eating the same thing here. Worth a shot to try it once or twice.
