Diosa was a fun experience, everything was very aesthetic and the drinks were amazing. The food was pretty good and the service was very friendly. However towards the end of our meal we had a cockroach crawling over our booth seat and the table next to us saw it as well. Ruined the whole experience for me. The Mezcal Old Fashioned is to sweet for me. The reason for the three stars is the hospitality. Didn't get greeted while entering Took about 10 min to get acknowledged at the bar. Bartenders should engage more with guest. Especially the ones making drinks definitely could engage more sale more alcohol. I was going to rate a flat three, but the cool bartender made up for it. Drinks were good, I asked for sparkling water and y'all had Voss. I asked for limes, and this is why you are getting the 4 stars instead of three stars. After speaking with the manager, he invited me back to Diosa & was very apologetic about my experience. I love that he took accountability and didn't make any excuses & said they'd work on it. I went in on Friday & it was super packed but I had reservations. We were seated right away. The service was 100% better. We were greeted, given water and our drinks came in the same time. I would like to mention the drinks are very consistent. Many times I have gone to a restaurant & after 2-3 drinks, they start tasting too sweet. Here I did not experience that. The drinks were 10/10. Also, second time ordering the Del Mar enchiladas. They are by the far the best enchiladas I have ever had. read more

Welcome to Downey DIOSA! Let me start off by saying we definitely needed something this elegant in town. I absolutely loved my experience today. This place has Tequila Goddesses serving up Margaritas any way you'd like... they can make them strong, salty, spicy, fruity and all of it is table side... what a great idea! I had the queso fundido w/ chorizo, rib eye and churros foster. The queso was delicious great flavor and good quality cheese.. you have the option to add chorizo and of course I did (I'm sure it would taste wonderful without it vegetarian)... rib eye was fire!! Good seasoning and it came with some poblano mashed potatoes.. let me just tell you those mashed potatoes will be something I'm coming back for, they were sooo good never had anything like them. The best for last ... drumroll please.... The churros foster was one of the best desserts I have had in a long time. The presentation alone is something you don't see around here. I tried to mix in the street corn but it didn't help, tons of onions not enough taste. I wish I would have asked for salsa. We ordered the table side churros.., another disappointment. The churros were hard and we couldn't eat them with the spoons given. So after drinks, appetizers, dessert and watered down coffee our bill was pretty hefty. The icing on the cake was when a host came and said we needed to leave because we had already been there 2 hours. overall, i had a pleasant experience at diosa. firstly, the food is pretty hit or miss. for appetizers, my table had the smoked guac and the taquitos camarones. the guac was good but a little to salty for my palate, and the taquitos were okay. for my main dish, i ordered the octopus zarandeados. the aioli and the vegetables were my favorite part of the dish- very tasty and flavorful! however, i didn't care too much for the octopus because it seemed like it was cooked unevenly, so the texture was perfect for some bites but not all. the only flavors that i got from the octopus were salty and spicy. after tasting some of my friend's food, i couldn't help but feel like i ordered the wrong dish (i recommend the coco risotto salmon!). for dessert, my table shared the churros foster. verrrry delicious. however despite most of the food being pretty good, none of the dishes had ANY business costing over 35$ at most. kinda ridiculous :/ i don't have too much to say about the service- our waitress was very kind and helpful! the people who bring the food to your table aren't necessarily friendly though. the hostesses are nice. lastly- the atmosphere. i was honestly kinda underwhelmed by everything! the decor and interior is very lackluster and the black and white theme is sadly a bore. with a name like "diosa", i was expecting the scenery to be more elegant and decorative rather than just a plain black and white theme with the occasional gold accents. however, i will say that the entrance is beautiful. the decorative sofas and the melted candle scenes were right up my alley. i wish they would've stuck with that ambiance for the entirety of the restaurant. would i come here again? prolly not. but it was a fun experience nonetheless. if you ever wanna try this place, i say go for it! but prepare yourself for an empty wallet at the end of the night. read more

The waiter suggest a cocktail that contained Tequila & Mezcal which was good! After the rest of the party arrived to the table we ordered our food. A lady walked from table to table offering a shot, she had a cart with different liquors. What was shady is that after pouring the shot she then explained that it cannot be added to the bill and needed to be paid on the spot separately. Never been to an establishment or would ever think one with this one's interior decor would have that way to generate more business I'm assuming. The wait time wasn't bad by any-means. Once the food arrived the waiter never checked in: asking how everything taste. The manger did come half way to a third of the way finished eating to see how everything taste. Only to find out she wasn't the manager after explaining the separate shot seemed shady. She said she'd get the manger however the manager never came out. After eating we waited at the host area for an additional 10mins for the manger, made eye contact after finding out who it was and they walked away after making eye contact! This one is just a personal trigger but none of the staff say you're welcome, my pleasure, etc after saying thank you. The food and drinks are great but the service needs improvement. The food was good, but overall, everything is overpriced. Our service was just ok... Dined in on a Sunday, and it was pretty slow. Our food came separate.
