This has got to be one of the best experiences ever. My friends & I decided to go there for dinner last night & from the start the hostess were really nice & professional being able to accommodate us after we had missed our reservation. Our server was amazing letting us know about the restaurant background & their most popular plates. We were a little disappointed that the drink we wanted was sold out buuuuuuuuuuuut as we were having our dinner one of the managers (Gilberto) approached our table to make sure we were having a nice dinner & without a doubt once aware we wanted a sold out drink he was able to get the drink for us making the experience extra special. I had been wanting to try this new spot in Downey and finally did a couple of weeks back. Be prepared for along review lol. I have to say that unfortunately, it was disappointing. I made a reservation, arrived at the location to find that there was no available parking so I had to use the valet. Went inside, and was seated after about 15 minutes. It felt a bit long, given the fact that I had made a reservation. Once we sat down, we were greeted by a staff member who shared a menu and said he'd return to take our drink order. The drinks looked great on the menu, but a bit on the pricey side. I don't know that there were more than 3 drinks below $20. Nothing against paying that much, of course, if the drinks are good. After a long, 15-20 minute wait, the staff member finally returned and took our drink, appetizer and dinner orders. This was the last time this person checked in with us the rest of the night. I would say that after about 20 minutes, we observed tables around us, who were seated after us, receiving their drinks. We then received our appetizer from the kitchen, which was the ahi tuna tower. Mind you, at this point, it's over 20 minutes, and we still haven't received our drinks. We SLOWLY worked our way through the appetizer, hoping to get our drinks before we finished it. Close to finishing, we flagged down another staff member, who was a highlight (I wish we had gotten her name), once we told her we hadn't received our drinks, she ran to the bar and started making them, with the bartender observing, which we didn't understand. Eventually, she brought our drinks, maybe slightly over the hour mark of sitting there. The drinks were in fact tasty, but nothing out of this world, honestly. Unfortunately, we eventually found out that we had received the wrong drinks on top of it all. The staff member was incredibly apologetic, and said that if I didn't like my drink, she'd replace it with the drink I ordered. Personally, I think she should have brought the drink I ordered regardless, but it is what it is. Again, at least she was helpful, right? Eventually, after about an hour and a half, we got our food: We got the Ribeye Parrilla ($65) and the Enchiladas Poblanas ($36). Neither are worth that amount of money. Honestly, not even close. You can get a vastly superior steak at Peter Luger's steakhouse in New York for about the same price. Here, the steak was cooked right, but lacked taste, or anything special, honestly. The sides were served in tiny dishes. If you're going to charge that much, make sure the steak is good, and if its not, you better pile on great sides. They did neither. The enchiladas, again, were fine, nothing special, and the sides were minimal at best, and clearly an afterthought. The Tuna Tower was definitely the highlight, but not sure its priced appropriately at almost $30 for the size of the portion. By the end, we spent well over $240 dollars, and were incredibly disappointed. The service was bad, the food was overpriced and mediocre, and we got the wrong drinks. Even worse, at the bottom of our receipt, it indicated an additional "2% for rising costs." We are great tippers, when deserved, and don't appreciate weird add-on charges. Costs are increasing for EVERYONE. If you cannot afford to run this place, then don't run it. No offense to the staff, who again weren't good, but you take those costs into consideration, particularly with everything being so overpriced. We walked out, gave our key to the valet, and he brought our car. I was ready to give him a $5 tip, only to find out that valet was an additional $10.75. There was no sign indicating this anywhere. Again, another surprise cost onto the customer. Finally, the decor is nice, but I feel as if the owners are much more interested in the aesthetics of the place, and not enough about the food itself or the service. At the end of the day, my impression is that Diosa is fine-dining cosplay: They want to give off the impression of fine dining, but don't have the food or service to back it up. If other restaurants charge that much, its because they deliver. Diosa did not, so we won't be returning unless we hear from trusted folks that there has been substantial improvement. Go grab a steak anywhere else, and grab some enchiladas at La Barca, Jalisco down the street. Two stars only because I feel bad leaving one. read more

First & foremost this place is definitely OVERPRICED, because the food & drinks were all just ok, second of all the service was the worst I've probably ever had, from the server not checking in on us to her taking 30 mins to deliver a plate and coke after our food had arrived to my friend finding a hair in her food and the manager asking us where did it come from. We were gaslit by the manager with the man bun. He was bothered by us bringing this up and then said since we weren't happy after we finished our drinks we could "wrap it up". The general manager later came to our table and he was apologetic and more professional unlike his bottom of the barrel staff. Overall the image they are trying to portray about women empowerment is definitely not portrayed through their under trained staff. I ordered a steak that tasted like it took a massive salt bath. HORRIBLE. $47.00 Enchiladas!! Are you kidding me? To top it all off, we ordered churros foster for $40.00 !! that was our fault that we didnt look at the menu prior to ordering otherwise we would have never done so. As an established black woman, I would never patron this business again. I went here with 2 colleagues on a Friday night after calling 15 minutes prior to arriving (6:30pm) and was told the bar was first come first serve. When I arrived me and my colleagues were told that the bar was no longer first come first serve and that in fact they were cutting the bar seating for the remainder of the night. I was very disappointed to see how the entire staff 40+ were all Hispanic with one black girl serving margaritas. The experience was disgusting and the racial profiling from the hosts was enough for me to be glad that was my first experience and I didn't pay my black dollars to an establishment like that. I will stick to driving a little further to be treated like a human. Black people deserve to be treated better. read more

Upon entering there is a beautiful ambiance, the aesthetics are phenomenal: However, customer service was AWFUL: Upon getting seated a Saturday morning the restaurant was not busy yet it took over an hour to get our drinks and about two hours to get our food/. In addition, the server didn't really come by to check on us and when they did they kept forgetting to bring what we asked. Our party spoke to the manager at the end of our visit and they apologized and claimed it was because they were busy when in fact it wasn't. (I hope so it wasn't what I ordered) plus the dessert would be on the house! I felt horrible because my kids wanted to make it special for me and my son had been there before and loved the food! Was taken here for my bachelorette. The interior is beautiful and we all dressed up. It took about 10 minutes to have someone come to the front and get us situated. The server acknowledged that it was my bachelorette and he even said "let's make it special!" But the service was so extremely slow even when making eye contact with the server he would rarely come over to us or forget the things we asked for. It wasn't that it was extremely busy he would make eye contact and then walk away many times. One of our plates was very late to come out and we were told nothing about it so the 4 of us were just waiting for hers to come out. The food and drinks were delicious but our biggest complaint was that it took 2.5 hours for a 5 person dinner (1 drink one entree each) when we all knew what we wanted pretty quickly. On a Monday evening, a friend and I decided to try this new restaurant out. I made reservations on Open Table and was extremely excited to eat my favorite" Mexican food." My friend and I walked in and were seated immediately. We sat in the right corner in a booth for approximately 12 minutes, with no one approaching us. Finally, we stopped a female waitess to ask if she knew who would be helping us out. This waitess had already taken care of a party who were seated after us. Due to the poor service on a fairly slow Monday evening, we decided to go to the bar and ask for a manager. The general manager (Greg Aiken) turned our whole experience around. I went to meet friends at this new spot. Service was poor. We could not get WIFI access to pull up menu tried several times. We were handed one menu after failed attempts to load menu and were constantly asked by waiters if we needed the one menu. Clearly not enough menus to go around. Ordered food and one of our dishes was taken away without us being finished and without asking. Server took way too long drinks, we almost had to order two at a time. Days later, I find that I was double charged, both posted against my bank. I contacted Greg, the supervisor, who informed me he was going to address my double fee and call me back. Waited for 2 days and no call back. I called today again and had to provide the entire information to Sheryl who claimed to be a manager. This is unnecessary and clearly shows no value of customer. I was informed by Sheryl that Greg is super busy, HELL!!! I am super busy too and have no time to be calling. I his time more valuable than mine??? Time is money.... I don't have time to be calling them to fix an error they clearly made. Check your statements.... I expect them to resolve my issue ASAP. read more

Fantastic restaurant! Service is incredible from the doorman to the bus boys. We were taken care of by Jorge who was able to recommend us the most popular drinks and dishes. We loved the agua chile, empanadas, and lobster ceviche. Highly recommend the diosa guava lavender margarita (you'll get 3-4 pours out of the shaker). The manager Mike was also going around talking to guests, he was very kind and let us know they are kid friendly. My girls and I were out for a mamas night so it was nice to see an actual changing table in the restroom (although we didn't have our kids with us). We had reservations for this place at 9:15pm, Saturday night. We arrived 15 min before our time, while we waited we had two drinks, total for a guava and a classic margarita was $49 plus tip. Not sure what's up with this area but there is no cell phone service, we asked for the wifi while we waited so we could check out the menu, they sat us around 9:20, not bad, waiter came around 9:25. We were ready for our second set of drinks, our appetizer order and our entrée as soon as he came to us, lobster ceviche came around 9:45, drinks came around 10, we were a bit annoyed but it happens, sometimes they're busy. We waited and waited and waited for our entrée, we finished our drinks, our appetizer was long gone, we were starving! At 10:35 when we saw that a group of girls seated about 20 min after us got all their food, we asked for our food. Turns out, the waiter never placed our order, how did you serve tables all around us for over an hour and never noticed us, never came back to ask us how we were doing or if we needed anything else? For the other two drinks we ordered when we were seated and the appetizer, it was $98. I don't mind spending my money on food or drinks, but drinks were not great, lobster ceviche was basic, we asked for our bill, left no tip because they didn't not deserve one. Total for the worst service I've ever experienced was over $150, 4 drinks and an appetizer. The place is aesthetically pleasing but that doesn't fill my belly. Attended my sister's birthday dinner party on Saturday and didn't get a chance to review this place until now. The scenery was amazing (great for pictures) and the drinks were good. The food was terrible as more than half the party's food was cold and arrived late. My boyfriend got food poisoning from the Shrimp Enchiladas plate and it ruined our whole night! We also ordered 2 guacamole and chips as an appetizer and we didn't receive them until after our meals were served. I asked to speak to a manager and it took her over 30 mins to arrive at the table. I mentioned my concerns to her and she said, "there's nothing we can do". The waiter also was no where to be found for majority of our time at the restaurant.
