They offer tons of groups and are always going above and beyond to connect those who feel isolated with others in the church. My only suggestion would be that I do feel a bit uncomfortable at times inviting other friends with small children due to the wording of which staff tend to say about our little ones and being quiet. It was a turnoff of mine when we first came, and it's still something that bothers me, and as a mother myself, I just feel as if I wouldn't want anyone else to feel like their child can't sit with them due to being a distraction. Other than that, I do enjoy Koinania!

It's on the Southwest side of Fruit and Jensen. I wish the weather would cooperate when we do have our Lao New Year Celebrations. Wish we could have a large celebration like Louisiana and Texas, but I will take celebrating at the temple because Fresnans don't know how to act sometimes. I said what I said. Love their gorgeous new entrance. It was raining so I did not get to visit their statue area. I did get food from the Sap Lao tent. I got a platter that came with papaya salad, one of the best I've had in Fresno, pork rinds, also some of the best I've had in Fresno, 2 meatball sticks, 2 chicken wing sticks, 2 pork satay sticks and 2 sausages. A pretty good deal for $40. We also got eggrolls from them. I usually don't like a lot of tents during the new year, but really enjoyed this tent and hope to try their other food. It's so much more fun when it's hot.

I love celebrating Lao New Year with family. I didn't get to see the traditional dancing but I did make it there in time for some of the bbq sticks the stands was selling. I was craving those and some stands had already ran out. I had to go to three different food stands. It's always a good time at the temple. You hear the lao music playing, people dancing and just enjoying the vibes. You can support some of these other stands by buying raffle tickets, some Asian dresses (clothes), a whole bunch of necessities as well.

We believe that all are saved by the grace of Christ that no human action can affect our salvation. If you study American History you will see a parallel with how our government was established and how the Presbyterian Church is governed. Many of our founding fathers were Presbyterian (26 signed the Declaration of Independence). You might think of our denomination as the Brainy/Intellectual Christians. We are constantly challenging ourselves to dig deeper into the Bible and ask questions. An interesting fact is that our pastors must have at least a graduate level degree in theology. We are not flashy, our services follow a specific format which includes confession of faith, Lords Prayer, Apostles Creed, etc. Our sanctuary is not ornate the focus is on the cross. If you are looking for a group of rooted believers who are open and encourage you to ask questions look no further than First Pres!
