What a memorable experience we had tonight at Dino's. Baked ravioli is one dish I plan to replicate when we get back to Florida. Veal parmesan was tender and delicious. The modified eggplant polenta was spot on as well. I chose it over pasta instead. Ended our dinner with perfectly made tiramisu. Amanda is personable and willing to please. The entire staff appears to be hard working and professional. Enjoyed a chat with the Chef on the way out. If we ever come back to Memphis, this will be one place we will visit again. read more

I have been to Dinos a few times over the years always satisfied!I usually get a plate lunch.I ordered once again from the lunch menu.Looked over my shoulder at a Gentleman being served a Mega plate of Spahetti and Meatballs and garlic toast.Called waiter to ask is it to late to cancel and order the aforementioned.They said not too late and shortly there after I rec'd my piping hot glorious Spaghetti and Meatballs.The spices were right on the edge of salt spice and heat.A master piece of tummy sensations.The next customer to enter said I'm having what he's having.Everyone around started laughing in unison and agreement.That day turned into Spaghetti and Meatballs for all! My wife and I ate at Dino's early Friday evening, 9/2/23. It's very easy to see why this small restaurant has been a local mainstay for decades. The service was prompt and friendly and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food we received. We had a toasted ravioli appetizer (containing cheese and spinach). My wife had a half muffuletta, which would have served two people, and I had a plate of fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp and an a la carte side of Italian spinach. The Alfredo sauce was creamy and tasty and the spinach was wonderful. My meal also came with a side of garlic toast. I've lived here all my life but have never eaten at Dino's and I'm so glad I finally have. We will be back. read more

My husband and I went to Dino's Grill for our impromptu anniversary trip to Memphis. Upon walking in, you can tell that Dino's Grill is a great family spot. Our waitress, Amanda, was quick to greet us and take our drink order. We ordered the Bruschetta for an appetizer, the pesto was very flavorful! For dinner, we shared an Italian house salad and each got a different entree each. For him, he got Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti on the side and for me, I got the Stuffed Jumbo Shells with ravioli on the side. Both of our dishes were robust in flavor from the gravy to the filling of the shells. For dessert, we shared the Tiramisu..one of my personal favorite desserts. It was prepared perfectly and was very delicious. They were very prompt with waiting times in between dishes, as well. We will definitely be back in the future! Thank you!! read more

The food was great, but the owner was rude and the service was kind of slow. We didn't really mind the slow service since we weren't in a hurry. We had finished apps and entrees and had ordered dessert. I was going to get something to go as well. The owner came to the table and asked if he could take the menu. He then asked how long we were going to be because there were people waiting for a table. When we told him we had ordered dessert he seemed okay with letting us stay. Well I was excited to eat here after the reviews I had read. So at lunch we get a to go order of lasagna and Italian sausage with spaghetti and tiramisu. Garlic bread they gave us was only toasted on one side and inside the bag there was hair on the bread also hair on my lasagna. the tiramisu tasted like it had a lot of cinnamon in it which I don't recall tiramisu having cinnamon in it all. I have never seen so much chocolate coated on a tiramisu maybe a drizzle but usually it just dusted with Coco powder and as soon as you open it you smell the cinnamon. I think they may have accidentally dusted/dosed it with cinnamon and covered their mistake with choclate. read more

Dino's is the BEST!  Have been eating here for 35 years and they never disappoint.  Most recent visit was during their Thursday evening (5:00 - 7:45) special of all you can eat spaghetti with choice of sauce (meat, marina, or garlic butter) and two slices of buttery garlic Texas toast style bread.  I went with the meat sauce. YUM!  It's authentic gravy (as we true Italians refer to "sauce") with plenty of meat and robust flavor.   Thursday nights are also bring your own wine night with no corkage fee which is an added bonus.   Although there was a sign on the door asking for a little patience as they deal with staff shortages, we received EXCELLENT service.  Food was brought to the table quickly and was piping hot.  Our server, Lauren, was attentive and friendly.  Although I didn't order the spinach on this visit it seemed very popular judging from how many patrons had ordered it.  The ravioli here is AMAZING too!   Looking forward to eating at Dino's again soon and my eye is on the Muffuletta next! read more

We've really enjoyed Dino's on both occasions that we've been! It has a great atmosphere and their food is excellent. One of our favorite things about this place is the PRICE! There isn't anything on the menu higher than $15. We had a great meal tonight. We started out with some fresh mozzarella cheese sticks for $5.99 (6 in an order). My bride chose the Pesto Alfredo with Chicken which she loved. I chose the "Half and Half" which is an order of spaghetti with an order of their homemade ravioli covered in their homemade gravy. HERE'S A PRO-TIP: My Irish blood had to learn this the hard way. It's not spaghetti "sauce". My wife is full blooded Italian and they ALL call it gravy. Our final bill with 2 entrees, appetizer and a drink (she ordered water) came to $32.xx plus tip. They only accept Visa or MasterCard here for credit cards. What a fun neighborhood dive for a Friday night meal with the family. Located near Rhodes, Dino's Grill is an established Memphis restaurant that serves homemade Italian cuisine (and more) with a smile. Filled with WWII decorations, Dino's has an old school and historical feel about it. With numerous rips and tears in the booth linings, it's also not a decorator's paradise, which makes me like the place even more. For those that drink, they have 4-5 beers to buy and you can bring in a bottle of wine. Now off to the food. The homemade ravioli are fantastic, stuffed with spinach and more. Served with their famous meat sauce, I could eat these daily. If you order spaghetti with meat sauce, it comes with the same delicious sauce. I had the combination ravioli and spaghetti for lunch one day, and felt like sleeping under my desk that afternoon. Well played, Dino's. I especially liked starting with the Italian salad, and a basket of their delicious garlic bread, homemade from Texas toast. The bread is crispy on the top side, and still soft on the bottom. Comes served in a small, plastic red basket lined with wax paper. The service is fantastic - everyone smiling and tolerating my children making a disaster of the table and surrounding floor. The price is 4 stars for the amount and quality of food. I am giving this spot 4 stars. It's slightly above a 3, and because it's local and has been around for many, many decades, it gets the bump up to 4. A seeming dive upon arrival, Dino's quickly impressed as a 'great little independent restaurant' by the time food arrived. Don't let the modest trappings keep you away. Today's finds Lasagna Half & Half ( spaghetti ( choice of meat sauce, marinara, or butter garlic sauce) and 4 chicken and spinach ravioli Cheese sticks Soup of day Minestrone( as of this review) To Go Half a Muffaletta Tiramisu Along with 2 sweet teas Total $67 including tip with food to bring home. Cheese sticks- decent. Served hot. Good size SoD: Good veggies weren't over cooked worth 4.50 for the large bowl Lasagna- Massive Dad ate half which I've never seen him do when we go out! Really nice taste from the bite I took. Half and half- perfect pasta with marinara. The ravioli was good but the filling seemed a touch dry to me.. Chicken overcooked maybe? Muffaletta- Fucking huge omg huge it's enough for 2 people trust me. No comment on taste haven't done so yet Tiramisu- Life it is life get it if nothing else. Ladies trust me. Coffee, chocolate, and booze Service: On the ball. Complaint: I understand the restaurant works with a lot of red sauces and such, still try to clean up the plate rims before bringing them out. Note the dish *was not* dirty like it wasn't clean. Just a touch lacking on a clean presentation. Give this place a try for a very reasonable lunch. I found Dino's here on Yelp. I have to say, Yelp very seldom steers me wrong. I love Italian food and boy did I get it. My family and I walked in on a hot Tuesday afternoon to the smell of spaghetti sauce and garlic. *Insert belly rumble* We seated ourselves at a table and a booth(the kids were too cool to sit with us old timers). Our server who did not give us her name, gave us menus and took our drink orders. Sweet tea for us. Sodas for the kids. We are sweet tea connoisseurs and their tea was perfect. We wanted everything on the menu! How fortunate they offer half and half spaghetti and homemade ravioli. We ordered that along with Italian spinach, garlic bread, and tamales. What can i say; I'm Southern and she's Southern Californian. The kids ordered chicken fingers and fries. Everything was made to order so we talked and looked over the decor while we waited. There was WWII and local memorabilia. The whole decor made us feel as if we had stepped back in time. We smelled our food when it left the kitchen. The ravioli was stuffed with spinach and ricotta. It was delicate and slightly chewy. I chose a red meat sauce which I thought might not pair well with the filling but they were both made from scratch so they were pretty good. The spaghetti was al denti but definitely dried pasta. The sauce made this dish. The spinach was frozen but garlicky and a little greasy from the real butter they make it with. I loved it because my mom used to make it the same way. The garlic bread was buttery and garlicky. Notice a trend? Although I liked every dish pretty well, I gave Dino's three stars for the lack of real depth of flavor and the not so great food I received on a followup visit. read more

As a native Memphian, I've eaten at Dino's since I was a kid. It was one of a handful of places that we went every weekend while I was in grade school. The food has always been delicious. Dino's feels the same as it did back then. The decor hasn't changed much over the years, but that's part of its charm. It's comforting and reminds me of family gatherings at my nanny's house. I don't think there is anything bad on the menu, but I'll share my favorites. Toasted ravioli- Yum! Jumbo stuffed shells- tasty! Lasagna- delicious! Ravioli- mouthwatering! And, of course, you can't go wrong with a simple order of spaghetti and meatballs. I'm grateful Dino's is still here after all of these years! read more

An excellent place to enjoy breakfast. Our party of six enjoyed various menu combinations. The scrambled eggs, sausage and grits were particularly good. Biscuits (spelled bisquits on the menu) were average. Pancakes were cooked just right (tip: a three pancake order costs only $0.30 more than a two pancake order - perfect for sharing or for gluttony). Coffee is only $2.00 with free refills. My wife and I have been in Memphis for 6 years now, and somehow have only just tried Dino's - my only regret is that we didn't find it earlier! I had the Veal Parmesan with ravioli and my wife tried the Jumbo Stuffed Shells with the same. Both were incredible and the meat sauce was hearty and exactly what we were both looking for in a gravy. We also immediately realized why the ravioli are Memphis-renowned! We finished up with the tiramisu and I used the word decadent for the first time in my life in a serious manner. The atmosphere was homey and inviting, and for a history buff like myself the WWII memorabilia was especially interesting. The service was friendly and honestly impressive- it was all-you-can-eat spaghetti night, so it was busy,and there was only one server per each half of the restaurant, but ours was definitely on point! We didn't know it was Bring Your Own Wine (with no corkage fee!!!) but it's been a while since I'd had a Peroni, so no worries there! Definitely will take advantage next time though. Dino's was a great find and will be in our rotation from now on. We've been wanting great Italian that doesn't break the bank (sorry Ciao Bella and Catherine & Mary's!) and this place fits the bill to a T. My husband and decided to stop by this place to try out their all you can eat spaghetti $8 special. Spaghetti is one of my favorite dish, but unfortunately I was not impressed with the spaghetti here. Too much celery and oregano in the marina for me. I love mushrooms with my spaghetti, and tried to order a side of sautéed mushrooms. I was disappointed to find that it was not served here. I did like the toasted buttered bread they serve with your meal. They don't skimp on the butter, and that's how I like it! The facility is charming and cozy, with cool pictures to look at. The other side of the restaurant is covered with war memorabilia, which I wished I sat in that side. Our server was nice and took care of us. I am curious to try out the sandwiches here, but will continue to search for a place that will satisfy my pasta cravings. read more

I really dig the neighborhood vibe of this place so I really wanted to like it but meh, the food was just not that great. And by not great I mean my Alfredo was super bland and came with 6 small shrimps for the $4.79 add on. My bf's spaghetti and meatballs was not good - the sauce had a burnt taste to it and was very watery. The waitress was very accommodating to other people in our group wanting to swap their dishes out but seemed surprised by the compliant - I'm taking this to mean this is the normal taste vs a problem batch that had been giving issues all night. So we visited Dinos for the first time a few months ago (just getting around to finishing reviews). We came in for lunch and were only one of two tables. The server promptly greeted us and was very courteous and attentive. The place has a neat authentic old pizza place feel. Unfortunately the meal was just super mediocre. It seemed like some of the items had been microwaved or something as they were ULTRA hot...beyond normal. The salad were kind of sad. I REALLY wanted to like this place for the look, the feel and the history, but it fell short on the food. Also my wife went to the restroom and lets leave it at she was not happy at the cleanliness. So much potential, but in the end 3 stars was probably a stretch for me...2 1/2 so I rounded up. read more
