I like this location because it's one of the few places in this neighborhood open late at night. I came here with my girlfriend and we got the Hokkaido oolong milk tea and the Kiwi Aloe Vera. I really enjoy fruity desserts so the Kiwi drink really hit the spot for me. The aloe vera topping is also a healthier alternative to boba, which is a plus. The Hokkaido drink was just average for me. It tasted more like a really sweet caramel milk tea, which was fine since I have a sweet tooth, but a small part of me felt mislead. I'm here for the soft opening. My friends and I have been waiting for so long for Ding Tea to come to Eagle Rock. We have frequented Ding Tea in other locations and drove for it because it was worth the drive. Now our journey has shortened! This week they are soft opening with limited options but they will be fully operating by March 27, 2021. Their hours until the 27th are 11am-8pm and the after the 27th it will be 11am-9pm. The acoustics are not great so it's really hard to hear through the masks and the sneeze guard and the blending and loud patrons. The employees can use a mask or maybe put some sound absorbing things up in the wall. This location always had that problem with other businesses and the added elements of covid doesn't help. Word to the wise: adjust sugar level because the default is very sweet. read more

I am so glad to see this boba spot in the Eagle Rock neighborhood for great boba drinks (and certainly saves us driving further east every time we get a craving!). Ding Tea is a Taiwanese chain boba shop and is next door to Milkfarm (check them out if you haven't already for excellent cheese) and several brunch places on Colorado, really easy to park on the street to pick up your drinks! COVID measures: Ding Tea limits capacity and currently (June 2021) asks you to wait outside for your order so that others can order inside. There is a plexiglass shield (which they've upped the audio with a microphone!) and masks are required at all times. Tea and boba: Love how I can taste the tea strength in the drinks, and the honey boba is usually soft and gives a very satisfying chew! So pretty too since it's almost translucent in a green tea. We are the type to enjoy teas, milk teas, and fruit teas: we order the oolong tea (Taiwan produces lovely oolong!), the jasmine green milk tea, and the peach and strawberry teas. The one thing that may need adjusting is sweetness consistency, especially with the fruit teas - I usually order less sweet (30%) and my husband half sweet (50%), and once mine tasted as sweet than my husband's drink. So I am not afraid of ordering less sweet just to err on the less sweet side here. Overall great! We often go every weekend for our boba refreshments, so convenient and also usually little wait, I'd say 10-15 minutes is average once you walk in the door, order, and get your order. read more

Visited during their grand opening week and another time after (making it twice since writing this review)! I'm super happy they finally opened an authentic Taiwanese boba place in Eagle Rock. Back then, I'd travel to Alhambra, San Gabriel, or Chinatown (super far and inconvenient!) just for boba. lol If I were still in high school, this would be my favorite hang out spot (it's even next to the Eagle Rock library, 10/10)! I'm jealous of the current high schoolers! As for the drinks themselves. I think they need to work a little more on the consistency. This Boba tea spot is clean and welcoming, and the staff is friendly. My grandchildren each got a Boba tea - one aloe-peach with golden Boba, and the other aloe with pink lemonade and boba. They have been to this Ding Tea shop before, and those are their favorites! I just had a hazelnut coffee with almond milk, they asked me the percentage of sweet and I said the smallest amount but more than none, and I got exactly what I wanted and it was delicious. Their menu is huge with so much variety, and they will do exactly the combination you want when you order. I found out while I was there that they make avocado Boba with real avocado and not just imitation avocado green syrup like some places. So I had an avocado Boba too which they made fresh for me after they made sure they had ripe avocados on hand, and it was even better than I remembered when I had it in Hawaii years ago. Ordered the Honey Milk Tea. Great aesthetic. Came here on a Tuesday night and there wasn't a large line. Did the Yelp check in for the free upgrade. Got the monster boba latte as it was the top of the recomended list. The drink is very similar to the tiger sugar drinks. This is one of the boba shops that I frequent when I'm in Eagle rock. They are always reliable, typically open later than other nearby boba shops. They are consistent, drinks aren't too sweet and are adjustable. The boba is nice and chewy. They have milk teas that I like with grass jelly and boba. Fast and clean inside. The only snag is the street parking situation, sometimes it's hard to find parking and or wait for somebody to move so that you can get parking at the meters. They used to have phone orders where I could just call in grab my drink and leave but now they no longer allow for that and you must order in person or on line. Upon entering it was very nice, clean, and smelled really nice (like perfume). I was greeted immediately by two ladies who were both very helpful. I ordered the taro milk tea with crystal boba and the popcorn chicken. I loved the milk tea, it was perfectly sweetened and just the right amount of taro flavor. It was delicious!! I unfortunately can't say the same about the popcorn chicken, it was way too salty and was overall not great (can definitely be improved). Decent boba spot for this area. The shop is quite small with no seating inside. They've got some cool Halloween decorations right now. I decided to try the kiwi aloe vera and strawberry yakult, which are both included in their top 10 drinks. I liked the strawberry yakult more. Drinks are pretty standard. One thing is that they need to update their menu prices displayed in the store... The drinks ended up costing more than what was stated on their menu. Parking sucks here. I really like Ding Tea! There were a few locations I would frequent when I was living in the Inland Empire. I am happy to see them in LA. The Winter Melon Tea and Lychee Milk Tea are my favorites. The latter is made with a black tea base and has subtle floral tones to balance the earthiness of the tea. (I did substitute it once for a green tea base and did not enjoy it as much). Their "monster boba" which appears to be rated #1 is also tasty. It honestly reminds me of pancakes with syrup. I appreciate the customization options, i.e. less sugar/ice/etc. I also noticed that they have a variety of milks in the fridge so I imagine you can customize with non-dairy options as well. read more

This is one of my favorite for boba drinks. I love every drink they have. There is no consistency of how they cook the boba. There's days it's too hard that it's not cook yet and sometimes the boba is well cook that it's easy to chew. Other than boba issue, drinks are amazing! Ding Tea is having its soft opening with a limited menu from now until 3/26. The grand opening is 3/27. Part of the international Ding Tea franchise, the Taiwanese boba shop was founded in 2004. The emphasis is on the quality of their teas and the freshness of those teas. The Eagle Rock branch has lots of drinks to choose from (fresh tea, flavored tea, milk tea, juice, smoothie/slush, Yakult/yogurt, tea lattes, and cold coffee drinks. You can specify the sweetness and ice levels and there are lots of toppings/add-ins to choose from: jellies, boba, pudding, cheese foam, sea salt cream, tiramisu foam, Dalgona coffee mousse, etc. The full menu isn't available yet. For food, I only saw macarons. Drinks come in two sizes. A larger size is 75 cents extra. Oolong milk tea ($4.50 for a large, 50 cents for crystal boba): Better than I remembered (I had it at Ding Tea Alhambra), the tea flavor was stronger and more complex. The drink was creamy and not too sweet at 25% sweetness. The crystal boba were nice - firm, lightly sweet, and gelatinous. The drink was cold and didn't have too much ice. They didn't have grass jelly today but they will in the future. It's a cute spot with white subway tile and a wall of fake greenery with the neon sign for your Instagram pics. This place is ran by children, who are too scared to make it clear to the customer what can and can't be done as far as their drinks go. When I use the word children, I mean grown women who act like children when dealing with situations that they feel uncomfortable with. I was not asking for anything other than a larger cup for extra ice. which which they said yes to only to then make it in a smaller cup and then tell me they would have to charge me for a larger cup with extra ice. like girl tell me at the register and I would've paid the difference like I literally had a coupon for a free drink. Tucked in between a cheese front and another store, this boba shop has some awkward parking choices available on the street right by the shops. The inside is fresh and clean, the decor really pleasing to the eye while you wait for your drink. The staff are masked up and a glass divider separates you from them during the order. There are ice and sugar level choices in percentages, which I appreciate given most places give you too much sugar for too much sweetness or too much ice that waters down the flavors. There are also different non-diary milk or sweeteners that a lactose-intolerant boba lover like myself always appreciates. There are lots of different toppings, and I chose golden boba and lychee popping toppings. They were soft and squishy and aptly tasted subtly sweet in my Thai tea boba. I would definitely try a couple other drinks next time I roll by. They also have customers wait outside until their orders are ready, allowing for social distancing. A yr later I came back to buy a taro slush. The drink wasn't blended so well I was chewing some whole pieces of taro. A came back the following day to return the drink and showed KAYLA the pieces of taro and of course a young kid wouln't know any better how to handle the situation. That's the problem when there's no mgr/persnincharge on the floor the issue never gets addressed properly above all NO APOLOGIES NO SORRIES KAYLA TOLD ME RETURN THR DRINK SAME DAY AND WE CHANGE IT OTHERWISE IT YOU RETURN THE FOLLOWING DAY IT'LL NOT BE REPLACED. Today we stopped by Ding Tea as we heard they opened just few days ago on Instagram! I think this week was a soft opening so there wasn't a long line. We ordered the monster boba which is rated number 1 and also the Hokkaido oolong, rated 5. Both drinks were really good! The monster drink is on the sweeter side so if you're not a big fan of the sweetness I would suggest requesting them to decrease your sugar level. Compared to other boba shops near by, I would rate their boba quality to be fairly high! I really like the size of their boba, it's just the right size for it to be chewy and enjoyable. Im so happy that Ding Tea opened a location closer to home. I had this in Corona, CA when I visited my bestfriend. Ding Tea is in my top 3 go to boba place. I always get their signature milk tea with 30% sweet and 50% ice. My definition of a perfect milk tea has to have the perfect combination of tea and milk. I am picky with my milk tea. I've tried so many places that I lost count. The staff here are nice. Parking is hard though. I went here on a Friday at 630pm and parked a block away by one of the residential streets. Its been awhile since we have gone to a Ding Tea franchise. I am glad we did. Our order online was a bit hectic, since I was driving and the kid was ordering, but in the end it worked out. Drinks were ready before the time given to us on Yelp. Hazelnut Almond Milk Tea with Boba and Coffee Jelly was yummy. Asked for half ice and got no ice (love). The kid got Honey Milk Tea with Boba and forgot to order it with Coffee Jelly but loved their drink because there was no ice to navigate at the end when we were at the end of our drinks.
