I really wanted to give this place a chance since they've only been open for two months, but both times we've been there, they fell short. One major disappointment was the pan-fried flounder with soy sauce ginger sauce; it was folded in half to fit on the plate, which ruined the presentation and the fish itself. It seems they don't have proper serving plates for whole fish. The Mongolian beef was bland, and the lo mein was decent but could use more traditional seasoning. Overall, the experience was disappointing. We may try it again down the road but not now. Hopefully several months from now they'll improve and I can update this review. But current verdict, this is far from being authentic dim sum joint IMHO and experience. read more

The establishment is very clean and beautiful. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The food is out of this world. All Chinese cuisine in this town is the same greasy flavorless garbage but not here! They are pricey, but when u You take into account the portions and quality of the food their prices are right on the mark. I wanted so badly to give a perfect score to this new restaurant in Clermont. The location is OK but the inside is definitely not what you would expect out of a strip mall joint. It felt very upscale and very very clean. It almost felt surgically clean because everything was stark and white. I will admit that the Salt and Pepper tofu was top-notch. That was definitely worth it. For entree, I got the braised tofu which was OK...just not rave worthy. It lacked flavor. It also was very low on mushrooms but I'm giving that a pass because they were fresh and delicious mushrooms...but the sauce was just meh. And it was soooooo strange it didn't come with rice. None of the entrees came with rice. It was an extra $1 which I opted to pay, but I still didn't get my rice. When I'm in Asia, the mindset is "a meal isn't comolete without rice" so I have to question the authenticity of this restaurant. Lastly, I completely understand this is a business decision, but I did not personally like the limited hours of dim sum at a place called Dim Sum House. The Best Chinese food I have ever had, and I've had a lot!! I am from Seattle, which is well known for their Chinatown. My hubby and I would go with our friend to restaurants there, and he would order for us in Chinese; it was delicious, but I think Dim Sum House is Better. The vegetables are so fresh and artfully prepared with mouth-watering sauces. The BBQ pork is ahmaazing; so moist, tender, and expertly seasoned. We had the Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodles and BBQ Pork with Mixed Greens on our first visit shortly after they opened. The Pan Fried Noodles were light and crispy, with bbq pork, squid, scallop, chicken, and bok choy in a brown sauce. It reminded me so much of a similar dish we loved in Hawaii when we lived there. Will need to add white pepper powder separately to taste. Eat with Chinese fried donut. The Black Truffle shrimp har gow was surprisingly tasty. Pork and Shrimp dumpling good, but how come you always flip on upside down on the take out.. ? Lol can't you put them nice and neat? The baked durian is very good. Wanted to try your baked durian cake instead . if your cake is good, we can cater a cake for birthdays from your place. The shrimp and beef rice rolls... guys where's the sweet light oyster sauce that goes with it? Soup dumplings, they're too small. Overall, happy satisfied meal. My friend wanted to go to Dim Sum House for her birthday, so I met her there at 5 PM on a Sunday. I was like, "OMG, why so early?" We walked in and were the 2nd in line. They had just opened at 5 PM. Soon, a line started forming behind us. I couldn't believe how many people were filtering in so early for dinner. The place was almost filled up by the time we left. Upon entering, I was really amazed at how beautifully decorated it was inside. And there was so much natural light coming in, too. It was a very serene setting, and not at all what I was picturing for a restaurant in a strip mall. It's definitely a local establishment worthy of bringing out-of-town family and friends. There's a regular Chinese menu and a Dim Sum menu. Since it was my friend's birthday and she had been to the restaurant before, I let her make the choices. Off the Dim Sum menu, we ended up getting pork & shrimp dumplings, bbq pork buns, and deep fried sticky pork dumplings. We also ordered the salt & pepper calamari appetizer to share and chicken fried rice. The calamari appetizer was BIG. As was the rice dish. Plenty to share and bring home leftovers. The calamari was so delicious. It was strips of fried calamari instead of rings, and it had a slightly spicy combination of green onions and jalapenos on top. The rice was very flavorful, too. I also loved the bbq pork buns. The pork & shrimp dumplings were steamed and tasted like like sausage in a wonton. The deep fried sticky pork dumplings were my least favorite of the bunch. They were just okay. There wasn't a lot of filling inside and they tasted a bit sweet like a donut. Still, everything was amazing. The service was excellent, too. We ordered all of our options and they came out one by one within only a matter of minutes from placing our order. And everything tasted hot and fresh. Prices were very reasonable, too, especially for how large the portions were. When we were leaving, I looked at everyone's meals on their tables. Oh-so-big! I wish they had options with a small up charge for vegetable fried rice. They would have me hooked as a customer if they did that. But it still tastes good with the white rice. We enjoyed this meal very much. The Calamari was so delicious. I ordered the egg roll and received 4 spring roll looking items, although tasty, they resembled spring rolls. I split the chicken and pea pods dinner since it was enough for 2 average eaters. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is that rice had to be ordered separate and didn't come with the dinner. The prices are a little higher than most Chinese restaurants, but the serving sizes are larger than usual. I tried the dumpling ordered by a friend and it was very good. The restaurant is very clean and the servers work together to give you superb service. They were attentive and refills were plentiful on the drinks and they even pour your tea into your cup. Ambiance is relaxing, refined and gracious spacing between tables. Service was attentive, knowledgeable, fast and friendly and the FOOD IS AMAZING. The lo mien made me think I was in China town in San Francisco. The lo mien noodles with wide, thin, tasty with perfect mouth feel. AWESOME. The prices are VERY REASONABLE especially considering the BIG PORTIONS. The location is about 45 minutes from The Villages, where I live and TOTALLY WORTH THE DRIVE!! They were all pretty good but I was more impressed by their lunch special offers. Each lunch special comes with rice, spring roll, and your choice of chicken cream corn or vegetable hot and sour soup. One person from my group did not like hot soup and our server was very kind to offer an extra spring roll instead. We ordered four different lunches but I only got to take pictures of two. Because two of my friends couldn't resist the great aroma from both of their lunch. But I did have a little bite from all four orders. The Mongolian beef was out of the world tender, the Spicy yummy chicken was coated with delicious sauce and still very fresh and crispy. The Basil Scallop & Shrimp had huge fresh shrimps and scallops along with delicious black beans basil sauce. The Bistro Style Lo-Mein got some homemade egg noodles that I didn't find anywhere else. We're regulars! This is a great place for all! This area was in desperate need of a dine in/family friendly restaurant that wasn't a chain. The staff had always been friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The prices and portions are great along with a great a selection of various proteins and vegan friendly options! We always order the Salt & Pepper shrimp because it's DELICIOUS, but this time we order the combo with calamari, shrimp and scallops. We love it! Wow! This place fell FAST! We went here to celebrate my birthday because it was worth the hour drive, because "it's so good "! Well... ok... here goes: Wonton soup: the broth was rather salty, but it was the wantons that destroyed this dish. While we loved them on our first visit, today, the meat inside them just tasted odd. I was just not like any other wanton I've ever had. Even the baby bok choi was brown on the ends. We did not finish it. Beef with Chinese vegetables: again, it was the meat.., it was just not good. First, the grey color was a bit off putting, and then, if you got past that, my wife wouldn't even try it, was rubbery and the flavor was bland. Egg rolls: the were so greasy, and it tasted like the oil was long overdue for a change. At this point, we decided not to even order anything else. If the first 3 items are that bad, why bother. So sad. I loved this place the first time, which was shortly after they opened. I expected, now with a few more months behind them, it would get better. It did not. Definitely a generous 3/10. Will we go back? Hard to say. One good meal, and one bad. Maybe a tiebreaker is in order. We shall see, but I know I'll never get my wife back in there again. read more

I have some experience with dim sum restaurants and this is a good one. No carts here; everything is made to order. The food seems cleaner and healthier than most I've experienced. The service is quick. The ambiance is fine, although the acoustics make it more noisy than I would prefer. If anyone from the restaurant reads this, my only complaint is that you remember that we were only provided chopsticks, when serving items like Chinese broccoli. It should be cut close to bite-sized, at least 3 cuts. read more

Really had a great lunch here today! I was seated right away, and the server was there immediately to take my drink order and ask if I had any questions about the menu. I ordered a hot tea and water to drink. I decided on the lunch cashew shrimp meal, which included a small egg roll and soup. Everything was hot and fresh! The entree itself was so yummy, and was much larger than I would've expected of a lunch portion! It was a peaceful environment to relax and enjoy my meal, and my server was very attentive and made sure my drinks were filled. I can't wait to return and try other entree's! The Vegetable and Chicken Fried Rice was very good! Unfortunately, I didn't care for the Egg Drop Soup, lots of veggies but not typical flavor I'm used to. My roommate had the Vegetable Low Mein, but said he would have liked if it had more soy sauce. Overall, everything was extremely hot and fresh. We had hoped that the lower ratings were just initial startup ratings, but our experience matched the average of what the other reviews show. The ambiance and service were good, but the food was not very flavorful. We all ordered spicy dishes, and there was nothing spicy about any of them. The szechuan chicken had flavor, just not spicy. The udon beef and spicy XO short ribs were lacking even in taste. I also thought it was a little strange that there was no rice with the meals. I later learned that you could order rice for $1, but what's the point? Don't most Asian dishes like this come with rice? At least tell us that we need to order it separately if you can't spring for the $1. We will probably try it again because the staff was wonderful and we like the vibe.
