I went to Dick's Sporting Goods specifically to buy rollerblades because I wanted advice from someone knowledgeable instead of ordering blindly on Amazon. The associate in the rollerblade department handed me two boxes, directed me to a bench in another department, and that was apparently the extent of the customer service. Thankfully, two younger female associates stepped in and actually tried to help, which I really appreciated. If Dick's keeps this level of customer service up, they'll be reminiscing with Sports Authority. Bought an expensive pair of Brooks for my 89 year old father. He doesn't communicate well, we thought they fit him as they were the same size he always wears. He wore them a couple of days, and they caused a great deal of pain. I called to see if we could exchange them and they refused. It seems there should be provisions for challenged elderly. My fiance and I came in to Dicks looking to add some workout equipment into our garage as we just moved into a new house and are making part of our garage, our gym. We needed a decent amount of weights and Sam and Joe were right there to help the entire way. We originally asked Sam, who was working diligently in another part of the store, if he could help us out and without hesitation brought us over to the right section. A lot of the equipment was really confusing price wise but Sam was so patient with us as he scanned almost all of the equipment we were interested in to tell us the correct price. Also, a lot of times when a worker is asked to go check the back they say ok and "go check the back", but Sam literally went in the back for a few minutes and came out with exactly what we needed, and it was the last one too! Sam was so patient, knowledgeable and professional with us during our entire interaction. He is the epitome of what I expect when I go into a store like Dicks where thinks, especially workout equipment is far from cheap. When we were done Sam and Joe both walked us to the register to make sure we were all set to go and content with everything we had picked for our new gym! I miss the old days...the bignbox stores are just that, big boxes. Overall, there is a huge selection of merchandise, which is good. However, because there is so much it is not always easy to find what you are looking for. It's not easy finding an employee here to direct you to what you are looking for. You would not believe how hard it is to find a ping pong paddle...or any type of true cold weather apparel (not Florida cold...think snow cold). If it's a mainstream item like a local team jersey or baseball, basketball, football or fishing equipment, this is a decent place to look. Otherwise, I'm better served looking online or in a specialty shop. So...for an average store with an average experience, they get an average rating. Maybe you've had better experiences? Awful experience - Purchased a bike online using Affirm, got to the store and the bike hard significant nicks and scratches. The cashier radioed the manager and he offered $25 off. I explained three times that he cannot process a return and repurchase with it being through affirm. We discussed processing a store credit or gift card. The cashier proceeded to process a return. Now the manager tries to correct the issue by doing a post-void... not possible, return is stuck for 3-5 days processing like any credit card transaction would be. At the end of the ordeal the manager just says sorry and clearly it's a coaching moment. read more

Came here tonight in the market for my daughter some shoes for school. We have been to several other stores with no luck so I was so happy when she finally found a pair here. They do require masks and do have social distancing markers up throughout the store. The checkout area has plexiglass up and I did see 1 hand sanitizer station when we walked in. We went straight to the shoe area and waited until later in the evening to go since less crowded. There was only 1 other family there and staff was readily available to assist us. They do let you try on shoes and not allow 1 guest to sit on the benches to try on at a time. Staff was very friendly and we were out in a breeze. read more

The managers name is Nick. He's a complete jerk and so is the big blonde girl behind the register. They've broken my fishing rods several times when I went to get them spooled. Then the blonde will give an attitude and then big man Nick will come in and do absolutely nothing that a manager should and COULD do. The selection for fishing is subpar. Go to Wesley chapel and get better customer service, respect and more selection. Everyone that works here is a kid, not that it matters itself, but they should at least have some kind of working knowledge or have a manager that can teach them. Neither of them they have. Horrible company. I purchased a bike today about two hours ago. I was riding with a big ole smile before I tried to adjust my butt and the handle bars gave way at full speed. Thank god I landed on my back and slid, few scrapes and bruises. I feel like I was just in a car crash though. I purchased at dicks because I thought the quality would be better. My son is having a birthday party and the fun festivities included a few hours at the paintball field. Walmart no longer sells paintballs in the store I'm told only online.But the employee tells us that Dick's does. This goes well as there is a sale- 4000 for $60.Happy son and I have first phase mission accomplished. She was looking for the shopping carts because they were hard to find and hidden, and they seemed annoyed that my wife asked where they were. One of them actually scoffed at her. Seriously? I came to Dick's about a week and a half ago looking for some running clothes that would keep me warm during the Florida "cold spell" and to get some new Tampa Bay Lightning gear. The good: the staff was tried to be very helpful. I was asked by several people if they could help me find what I was looking for. The bad: The store layout was so confusing. I couldn't figure out if I was shopping in women's or kids, by brand or sport. I didn't think this particular store had a huge selection. The Lightning gear for women was heavily picked over and I didn't find anything in my size in women's. I will likely shop online or head to the Dicks at Westshore mall for a larger selection next time. read more

Went for the first time yesterday, will not go back. Its stocked full of inventory with no price tags and nice, somewhat helpful employees. Found a woman employee to scan prices of yoga mats for me, several dozen there but only 2 with actual prices on them. One $80 and the other on clearance for $43. I found one for $30, then grabbed a sweat towel above the mats- again no price. She scanned for me $13. She then had to go take a phone call. I found a smaller towel and then asked another employee if there were any other gym towels for sale. He said only 1 other kind in the gatorade display by the cashier. Found the gatorade towel- no price on it either. Asked cashier for price- $13?! Asked cashier for price of smaller yoga towel $16?!! Then found same woman and asked if they had a paddle ball set ( like for the beach) she said no. As i meandered back to the cashier i found the paddle ball near a summer display section. No price tag, no packaging, no balls. Just wooden mostly warped paddles. Grabbed 2 then went to ping pong section to buy balls ( not the right balls for paddle ball ), those had price tags - $4 for 6 balls. A helpful young man employee checked in the back for a set with a ball for me and there were none. This summer display had dollar store type items bubbles, beach toys etc, everything was marked $1.99 or less at the bottom where these paddles were. Make it to the cashier. Instead of just ringing me up for $2 for this visibly craptastic paddle ball set with no balls, the cashier turned into Ethan Hunt and made it his mission to find me a skew #. Spoke to several people on the earpiece, then a manager arrives. They start looking on the web site for paddle ball sets- they find one and for only $9.99! I see the picture on the screen- this is visibly a much nicer set than what im trying to purchase. It has dark plastic handles instead of this warped mdf set im trying to buy. I ask the manager how much then with no ball? She replies $6.99. I finally take that reply as a sign from god to get the hell out of there. This transaction was adding up fast and in my head i was thinking i could get the mat, a few towels and paddle ball at target for $30. Wasn't escaping dicks for under $60. I hope this retail outlet makes it, but you can see how they are all crumbling with an experience like this. read more

Dick's is one of the better sporting goods stores in town with a great selection, and slightly higher prices than some of their competitors. The big difference is that I can generally find what I need at Dick's, and the staff seems to be much more knowledgeable. Dick's is located on the west side of the Citrus Park Mall, not far from the Food Court, and facing Sheldon Road. All of these visits to wonderful restaurants around town have me feeling like a cross between Fudgie the Whale and the Michelin Man, and so it was time to buy a new pair of running shoes. Off to Dick's in search of a pair of New Balance runners. Low and behold they had exactly what I wanted. The selection is huge, and the fellow in their shoes department knew exactly the questions to ask of me, and then steered me into a pricey pair of New Balance 990's. I also picked up a couple of pair of running shorts which were on sale, and now I'm all set to keep eating, Yelping, and running. read more

I just had the worst customer service experience in many years. This store was NOT busy and I couldn't get help in 30 minutes. I needed a new fishing pole and a beginners bow and arrow set. The guy in this department was completely by himself (the day after Christmas) and dealt with 1 customer in that entire time. After 30 minutes and asking the front for help I literally dropped what I had and left. I've never had a good experience at this location and will NEVER go back. It appears there are several less than average experiences on here from other folks as well. read more

Not bad for a sporting goods store. We went to get some ankle weights for my hubby, and they had them at a decent price and always have great sales going on. Every time I go, they have racks and racks of sales athletic wear and shoes marked way down. The stores are well laid out and clean with helpful customer service. Also got a great deal on a hybrid mountain/street bike with a nice, cushy cushion on it so I don't murder my butt cheeks on it. read more

I purchased a pair of brooks running shoes from dicks. I wanted to live them as they came highly recommended from my running friends. After a few weeks they just felt tight. I had already thrown out the receipt and box and I'm not one to return items. Another retailer told me that brooks backs their product and that dicks should exchange them. I brought them to citrus park dicks even though I purchased them at the Wesley chapel location. I brought my bank transaction showing the purchase. The manger was called up and said that I should go through brooks directly but he would take care of it. He did not have to do that. I ended I with a more expensive pair of asics and purchased some accessories. I sincerely appreciated dicks going above and beyond. read more
