I've been to this location many times since I moved to the area several years ago. It's hit or miss in terms of having what I am looking for at any given time...usually more "miss" since the inventory just doesn't jive with what I need when I need it. A few months ago I went to the shoe department to try on a new pair of running sneakers. I couldn't find anything that fit correctly, but the young man that helped me was terrific. Another time...probably about 2 years ago...I needed a new hockey bag. I went online to see what the inventory might be....and there was a particular bag on sale in the style that I was looking for. When I went to Dick's, none of the hockey bags were on display (it was still pretty early in the season and they didn't have everything out yet). A nice, older gentleman helped me and dug a bag out of the storage area...which was awesome. Some of the clothes tend to be way overpriced. Check the clearance racks. Overall a decent choice for sports gear and clothing. read more

Went to buy 2 pairs of sneakers and the selection was perfect but service was the worst. There were other service people that need assistance. ok She did come back and asked if I wanted to try on any other brands which I did but she was gone again and she left me sitting there that I finally got up and left. I am disappointed in Dick's. Apparently wearing a mask is optional inside the store. When I asked the cashier why a couple was maskless (and talking nonstop) at a nearby register, she said they can only request that people wear one. The manager, with whom I spoke to later, said that he couldn't request that the couple wear masks because they are protected by the HIPAA law. He said because of that law, he can't even approach them about it. Same story at Hannafords and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. However, at the smaller stores on Broadway, like Uncommon Grounds, shop owners are telling people to leave unless they have a mask on. I've seen that happen too. It's irresponsible for the bigger stores to allow people to shop without masks on. Not only will people get sick, but, if the economy shutters again, they will survive while many smaller stores will close for good. The research consistently shows that wearing a mask protects not only others our community, but also the wearer. We are all in this together, so wear a mask! read more

Some of the anchor stores in the Wilton Mall appear to be hampered by size and not capable of providing a decent supply of everything, so they specialize in certain things. That feels, to me, to be the case at this particular Dick's. The areas at which I think they do the best are clothing, especially for kids, and golf and fishing supplies. I've never had good luck here with men's clothing or exercise equipment. The staff, while visible and frequently walking through the store, don't seem to display a lot of interest in helping you unless you flag them down. read more

I normally say that Dick's is extraordinarily overpriced and has a shitty selection, but from time to time you can find a decent deal on stuff there. I still prefer to buy athletic stuff from the more specialized local shops (such as buying cycling gear from Plaines, or running gear from Fleet Feet), however I wandered through Dick's at Wilton Mall and picked up some shirts that were on sale for pretty cheap. I never recommend Dick's for hunting or shooting supplies. For those, go to the local shops like Zack's Sports in Round Lake. Dick's sucks for that sort of thing, and the few times I've bothered to look in that department at any Dick's location has led to the realization that they seem to staff it with paintball heroes rather than people who actually know what the hell they're talking about. Paintball heroes are not helpful when it comes to real firearms and supplies. I also wouldn't recommend Dick's for running shoes. Their staff really has no idea with regard to proper shoe selection, so leave your shoe purchases to a place like Fleet Feet. Your feet will thank you. This particular Dick's location does feel a bit dated, but the Wilton Mall is by no means new and this store isn't freshly-renovated like the one in Crossgates. So the tl;dr (that's "too long; didn't read" for you interwebs newbs) version of this review is to check your smartphone or local options before making a purchase at Dick's. Chances are that you can do better on pricing and selection, but in the rare event that's not the case, go for it. read more

This is the closest sporting goods store to us so we come here often when we need fishing gear, ski gear, boots etc. Im general they have a decent selection of products. My issue is that they have an entire wall and a half of mens hiking shoes and maybe 6 choices for women. Their fishing lures are also difficult to look through. Sometimes they are organized and other times they can be a bit confusing. They do have great service and it never seems hard to find a sales associate on the floor if you have a question. read more

I went to Dick's today, because I had a defective Hydro Flask. Lyndsi, was more than helpful & kindly placed the bottle on hold for me. When I returned to the store to get my new Hydro Flask, the associates were more than accommodating, and made sure I was satisfied with my new bottle. I recommend this store, as they will do everything in their power to make sure you're satisfied with your purchase/experience. read more

Worst sporting goods store in the area. The guys working in the hunting and fishing area are so rude it's appalling. Every question is answered short and abruptly. I live in Ballston spa and I go to aviation mall or the Latham store even if it's farther away because at least at those stores they are polite and friendly to deal with. read more

my husband recently purchased arrows, we asked for them to be cut down to a specific size. when we got home not one of them was close to the requested length, one had not been cut at all. with opening day 2 days away we did not have time to go back. I called the store, they were of no help. I called corporate and they offered a gift card and an exchange but we had to return arrows unused....did I mention opening day is two days away! the gift card is a decent gesture however we are not able to get back to the store before Wednesday... so we are stuck with the wrongly cut arrows. good thing my husband is an excellent shot and has the knowledge to make the adjustments to his equipment. we are very unsatisfied with the outcome! we will not be shopping there any time soon. I will say corporate customer service was polite throughout our conversation. I wish there was a NO STAR rating. read more
