I thought I would save a 20-minute drive to the Bass Pro Shop and order a Stick It Anchor p9n from Dicks online, after all, they offered free shipping. Ordered on 7/30 5 day ground shipping, notified on 8/7 that it is delayed, 8/8 it is shipped, 8/10 no tracking showing on UPS, 8/10 called Dicks, they are sorry for the delay will ship 2 day, 8/15 product shows up without all the parts. Call customer service, after 25 minutes get disconnected, call back wait 15 minutes for supervisor, get disconnected. I am sending the product back and giving my business to Bass Pro. Honestly, this is the worst customer service I have experienced from any company in the last 10 years. read more

I usually don't write too many reviews unless I absolutely need to feel the need to get my experience out there and to help other people from experiencing what I did. However, Customer service is non-existent. They don't pick up their phones or provide great customer service in-store. I bought an expensive item ($300+) online to pick up in-store at Cerritos only to find out when I picked it up and got home, it was used. No shrink wrap, item was out of place with wires everywhere. Lint and hair on some of the products. I'm guessing it was either used, a returned item, or even a display item where they used it often. Corporate wasn't even as helpful either. It's pretty saddening, because there are many other businesses that capitalize on customer service in our time today. However, I was able to get help at the Huntington Beach location in five minutes compared to both Corporation and Cerritos. I would avoid Dick's Sporting Goods in general, but if you really had to go to one, then Huntington Beach location is the place to go. read more

Don't go here. I regret ever going to this place. Every time I have tried to go here there is nobody around to help. The workers try so hard to avoid you. Don't even get me started on their shoe department. All of their shoes are display only so if you want to try a shoe on, you need to get someone to get the shoe for you. The problem is, they all avoid you on purpose. I tried so hard to have someone help me but they literally all avoided me like the plague and pretended like they were working. This is always our first stop for game day jerseys whether it is basketball, football, or baseball. They carry so many sport related stuff such as: gear, clothing, equipment, and even shooting guns for hunting. They are always on top with new arrivals and some of the stuff you can only find in Dick's stores. I like their women shoe collection - they always carry new styles and they have plenty of sizes available (especially size 6). They also have great selection of girls bikes: colors, sizes, and price ranges (they do run out of the nicer designs so buy it right away if you like it). During playoffs and World Series they have the teams clothing laid out in long tables in the middle of the store - they are full price which is a bummer. This store is huge - 2 stories and every section is covered with every sports item imaginable. The store is categorized by sporting events, clothing, and sale items. The popular sports gear are mostly on the first floor as those sports carry the most selection. When a sport is in season they display their gear towards the front of the store. During their version of "black Friday" the discounts on clothing are huge up to 50% off on already reduced prices. They have a batting area where you can practice on your swing free of charge. The second floor have equipments of camping, skiing, and special area for archery lane located in a room, and hunting/shooting guns. They sometimes have special store events with athletes visiting and if you are a sports fanatic definitely come check this place out - you will not be disappointed! Plus, you will be well prepared for whatever event as you will see stuff that you thought you did not need and all of a sudden you need to have every single item in the store. I never encountered bad customer service here, but then again they never greet us or ask if we need assistance every time we visit. They close 30 minutes (9:30pm) after the mall closes since they have their own entrance and exit that is not connected through the mall. read more

So many of Dick's competitors have closed lately; I'm glad this place is still open. That said, I'm not all that crazy about the selection - they have lots of stuff, but not a whole lot of brand variety. The customer service here is okay, but when I go to the cashier, it always feels like they push their brand reward card a little bit too far. A simple "no" doesn't get them to back off, which gets very annoying. Dick's prices seem to be about average for this type of brick-and-mortar store. Today while shopping with my children a caucasian man screamed that he was physically attacked by my 7 and 13 year old. Myswlf and 16 year old witnessed the man bump into my child -13, while he was bent over. I immediately defended my children. The man yelled that I was on crack and that he was assaulted. The store manager - Chad, also caucasian, came and I reached out to him for help. He then said my kids were ****ing around and gave a sincere apology to the man and said he could go. He said there was not a solution for me or my children. I have never been so offended and feel race played a huge role in the incident. Mall security assisted in making my scared children feel safe and helping us file a report. I will not be shopping at Dick's anytime in the future again. Doesn't even deserve a star. I would give it a negative rating. I had the worst assistance from the manager! Lady with curl blonde hair. I came in with my 10 month old son and we were buying a golf bag for my husband. The golf people were great! The guy checked bags and helped me pick the perfect one for my husbands birthday. He explained to me that the coupons are helpful and to use it downstairs. When I checked on the app they had another coupons for 20% off apparel so I grabbed a sweater and a shirt. So here I go to check out and the manager lady was yelling at one of her employees on her little talking saying they couldn't go on their lunch break. She then proceed to help me with this horrible attitude. I told her I had the coupons and before I finished she said sorry I can't use those. I said oh they are still valid and she said no I can't use them. I said why not. She said because it won't scan. I was like the guy upstairs said I could use it why would he tell me that if it wasn't true... she rolled her eyes and scanned it... it went through. I said ok and than said ok I'll get these clothes and the lady blatantly stared at me and said no I gave you the other one as a courtesy but I can't give you this one. I tried to return this bike seat that I believe I bought there but unfortunately can't find the receipt. I said I would try to get a store credit or keep looking for the receipt. They tried to scan my card & look up my phone # to get info, but nothing came up. They asked if I paid with cash? I said I don't believe so, but bought it awhile back, so don't recall. They than scanned the item and said item not in their system. Say they don't carry it anymore so can't help me. I say that's odd! I'm sure I bought it here. I asked a girl to help me find something and she literally lied to my face and told me that there were no more in stock, after 10 minutes of me looking by myself I found the item I was looking for. My overall issue isn't with the store itself but with customer service. I had ordered something on the flash sale and was to pick it up at the store. Unfortunately, I was not aware that you only had four days to pick it up, which is difficult when you are out of town over the 4th of July. They canceled my order and told me I had to reorder it with the current price and not the flash sale price (50% off). Needless to say, Dick's has lost yet another customer and many more once I spread the word. UPDATED... So after a couple more emails to customer service, they were able to help me out and give me the sale price for my item. For this I am changing my review to 3 stars. On line orders can not be canceled after 30 minutes Make an after hours other with "Dics Sporting Goods" online. Realized after making the order it was not the product I needed. I then attempted to cancel the order. I received a pending cancellation number. I called first thing the next morning only to be told the order could not be canceled. The order was made after hours, called in within the hour to canceled, even though the order had not been processed. This is poor business practice. I was hung up on by a person, Corinthia, not sure of spelling, she refused to spell it and refused to allow me to speak to someone else. There was one tall, lean young man in a black shirt who absolutely looked like he would rather be anywhere else than at Dick's. It was such a pain trying to find help, we finally found another helpful staff member in red shirt who was able to get us on our way but it took us 25-30 minutes to get shoes to try on. read more

Came in for one specific thing after looking online to see if they had ut ,and it stated they did,unfortunately they didnt. Staff wasnt all to helpful. They directed me in the area I needed to go to,but didnt ask if I needed anything or if they could help with anything else. Its a huge store. 2 floors . Walking to the area I needed to go to I seen some good stuff. Didnt bother checking prices though. Im very particular on CUSTOMER SERVICE so when I go to a place and the service sucks it throws me off ,makes me feel unwelcomed ,I understand they might be busy,but a big store like that you would think they hire more staff. Like so many others, I am hugely underwhelmed by the customer service and selection here. For such an enormous store, the availability of employees is minimal, and those that are there are flatliners at best, and most have snotty attitudes, with the exception of my very nice cashier, Brandon. I asked three people for assistance trying to find inline skates for my son. Finally found them, but there were no employees anywhere nearby to help, and half of the stock is on very high shelves. I'm a tall person, so very high to me is very high. If there were other options available, I'd have left right then. But the other sports stores have all gone out of business, so we're kind of stuck with Dicks if we need something in a hurry. However, I'll likely just go online (NOT to Dicks online) and order there, rather than come here again. I would have to say this store has more selection than the El Segundo location however the customer service is another thing. 1st Time we came here everything was great, John, the gentleman in the Jordan section was very helpful and we spent a good 30 min just talking about shoes which was great!!! While helping other customers, he still maintained conversation with us. My husband purchased some olympic 5's for me and some metallic 5's for himself. We made sure to give John a great review on the survey. 2nd Time we came everything was not so great. I came to get some gymnastic grips and a lifting belt for crossfit. We went to the 2nd floor, training section, where it was just me and an employee. Every time I tried to flag him down or say excuse me to get some help, he would literally power walk in the other direction. At one point he was hiding in the stock room. I eventually found the grips, but they had no barcode and were just zip tied together. We went down stairs to pay and luckily Mama Jackie as she said everyone calls her totally made up for the lack of customer service!!! She busted a mission to get the upc code from the manager because the same employee from earlier was not answering the walkie talkie. Thanks Mama Jackie you're the best!!! I despise going to this place. The customer service is probably the worst of any store I've been to recently. There are literally at least 8 cashiers but I've never seen more than 2 open despite LONG LINES. Attempting to try on shoes was a joke. I've literally been left standing there even after a manager paged for someone to help me multiple times. Last time they brought me the wrong shoes multiple times and even brought me shoes I already tried on. Then at the end, the shoes they said they had in my size, turns out they never did. Ordered an under armour shirt online as a Christmas gift. When it was opened Christmas day the shirt was heavily saturated with body odor from being previously worn. Rather than the hassle of sending it back we tried to clean it. The body odor remained and now they will not give a refund or exchange because it was washed. VERY DISSATISFIED. read more
