Die Torten werden in der vom Gastraum einsehbaren Backstube in höchster handwerklicher Qualität aus besten Zutaten nach traditionellen Rezepten gefertigt. Frisches Roggenbrot (100%) gibt es Mittwoch und Freitag. Dinkel-Körner-Brot Mittwochs und Kartoffelbrot Freitags. Wer es gerne herzhaft hat, kann unser Brot mit Käse oder Hausmacher Wurst bekommen. Das Windlück-Frühstück mit frischen, hausgemachten Brötchen und vielen leckeren Sachen gibt es Donnerstags und Sonntags - Voranmeldung erforderlich! This cafe is along the Genuss zu Fuss (a 7 km nature/culinary hiking trail) and Eifel Krimi (local crime trail) and near to an 11th Century castle in the quaint (sleepy) German town of Kerpen. The pastry comes out smoking, piping out. There's literally steam coming out of it. This left quite an impression as it is certainly dramatic. I must admit that I love these experiences as I just don't see U.S. eateries handing me such a temperature hot pastry due to all these needless safety reasons. As for the pastry itself, it is a twirl so you can tear off chunks that are partial curls. It has a nice crunch on the outside while the inside is perfectly chewy. You choose different topics. I picked a vanilla sugar and it was very tasty. Definitely try this chimney pastry if you ever see it anywhere!
