Of the handful of taquerias in Windsor (or Sonoma County for that matter), Diana's is by far my favorite. We used to go to Angela's (across the street) but when they went out of business it wasn't long before Diana's moved in and filled the void. Excellent food, friendly staff, reasonable prices. I have been to Diana's market many times. Food is pretty decent. Owners are very friendly. However ever time I have gone they've messed up on my order & either way over charged me or under charged me. I was there sat for dinner & apparently their water wasn't working so they gave us bottled water which they charged us $3.00! We all ended up getting sick 2 hours later. We had fish tacos and cheese enchiladas, rice and beans. Enchilada sauce tasted canned, no flavor to the enchilada, rice and beans flavorless. Fish tacos had very small bits of fish. Most cities have a Starbucks on every corner, Windsor has taquerias. This neighborhood already has two above average Mexican restaurants, but the more the merrier. Diana's is brand new but they seem to have all their patos in a row. Service was fast and friendly. Everything we ordered was fresh tasting and spicy without being overpowering. This is another just ok place. Service was lacking. The atmosphere is, well kinda dumpy and sad which is fine for a taqueria but the food was just meh. Nothing great or even that good. I want flavor and authenticity. It's another no go for us in Windsor; so far we have to go to Healdsburg for good Mexican grub. read more

This is a small little Mexican restaurant with decent food. I really wanted to write a review because of the great service we received. Jesus promptly greeted us with a smile, took great care of us...checking in on us multiple times to see if we were okay/if we needed anything. Ordered take out. Toastadia salad was iceberg lettuce and barely a squirt of guacamole, no tomatoe, grilled chicken which was difficult to determine if it was grilled at all, a squirt of sour cream and thin layer of beans and no cheese . Very disappointing. We also ordered quasadia. Was suppose come with guacamole and sour cream . We ordered meatless. It contained melted cheese with nothing else. Extremely disappointing. Ive been here 3 times. The food was very good at each visit. I had super burritos and the chicken Mole. Authentic tasting with lots of flavor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I have eaten at those places across the street and Diana's has much higher quality food for the same price or cheaper. The ambiance is not so hot, but it could be worse. We stopped here based on reviews and because of proximity to Windsor's DCFC fast charger. I order the molcajete and the serving size was large, the soup base delicious, and the tortillas handmade. They have excellent rice and beans. They also had house-made nacho tortilla chips, refried beans, and salsa for the table. The margaritas are delicious and made with fresh lime juice. The family is from Michoacan so when I return I'm going to try their carnitas. Service was fast, friendly, efficient, and the interior is fun and bright. It's located in a free-standing structure in a parking lot. You need to enter from Old Redwood Highway. read more

I will dream of the homemade corn tortillas here. The pork in the enchilada was SO GOOD. Usually I don't notice the meat flavor that much, but this was really good. Tamale - yum. We had a party of six, and everyone's meals were first rate. The house margarita were a must try- also fresh (juices). The food I ordered was very bland. I ordered a cheese enchilada dinner for take out that came with two small sides: runny/watery pinto beans and rice both had no taste. The main entree was three cheese enchilada's that had a red sauce which did not have much taste outside of being somewhat spicy. To make matters worse the food was cold by the time I got home to eat it, I live 5 minutes away so it must have been barely warm when I picked it up. read more

This is real Mexican food which serves the Hispanic working class who know what real Mexican food is supposed to be. Although I'm not Hispanic, some of my friends are, and I've had their mother's home-made 'real' Mexican food... from scratch. This place does it right. I haven't been there since I noticed they were remodeling (I guess--as of Jan-2014), but every time I go there, the food is superb. The ambiance is nothing more than a converted small home with a collage of Mexican decor. It isn't impressive for tourists who want to be impressed with looks. It is definitely home-spun decor. And small. They have outside tables since the indoor area is rather small. I mostly get their take-out. They are very friendly. The take-out cashier and servers barely speak English, yet their menu is succinct enough to get my orders correct. Whenever I'm eating there, or picking up an order, most of the clientele are the local working-class or field-worker Hispanics. Their food beats the competition across the street, hands down. (And I've been a fan of that other place for years too). If you're looking for a little Mexican culinary gold-mine, and not looking for a market-tested "Mexican Restaurant Look" this is the place to eat. I happen to like the decor because it makes me feel like I'm in a real Mexican restaurant and not a place which tailors toward a more a oblivious Mexican food consumer. I rated didn't rate them 5/5 but rather 4/5 only because of the limited space for parking and quantity of tables which can be a pain on a busy night/day. read more

Highly NOT recommended! Better to just go eat at Tacobell. First of all they didn't even ask us if we wanted drinks, they just sat us and came back 15 minutes later to take our. We ordered food then at the end of the order I said "Oh I'll take a pepsi, what do you guys want to drink?" Like why wouldn't you guys offer us something to drink from the beginning? Or even at all? Finally about 45 minutes later the appetizer (taquitos) got served. I think tacobell taquitos are better then theirs! Got my pozole an hour later..asked for spoon. Took about 10 minutes for my spoon. Pozole is very good though! But shouldn't of had to wait 10 minutes for a spoon. Friend watched me eat my pozole for about 30 minutes while waiting for his burrito. I kept asking for sour cream like 3 times and never got it. Then finally the waiter came back and my friend asked where his burrito was. Came back 15 minutes to tell us "Opps! We forgot to put the order in". We were so irritated at this point so we didn't even want the burrito after waiting for an hour and forty five minutes . Been going to Diana's since I was a kid. I used to stop and eat something before walking home from school back when they were off old redwood hwy and the corner of Starr rd. I'm now 27 yrs old and still eat there. By far at that time it was the best Mexican food around. read more

I was surprised to hear good reviews. However, from what it sounds like, this restaurant has moved location. This was my first visit. Not impressed with the food. The enchilada sauce was too thick and strong tasting. In fact, it was "dry" if that's even possible. The restaurant is tiny, dark and doesn't feel really clean. The tables & chairs reminded me of a family BBQ where everyone has to sit on mix & match furniture. I LOVE Mexican food, have lived in Sonoma County my whole life and this was the first time I couldn't even eat the dinner. The people were very nice though. Not going to visit again due to the lack of quality of the food & the ambience. Perhaps people really enjoy how inexpensive it was? Not even sure if that's true as it was $25 for 2 people. read more

Came inside and no one was at the cash register. Heard some people talking in the back but no one came inside to get our order. Even saw a guy look at us from the back and he completely ignored us. We glanced in the back, trying to see if someone was coming, and saw meat sitting out in the open with flies buzzing around/on it. Finally someone came out and took our order. Honestly if I could I'd give this no stars. I literally just left this establishment or whatever you'd like to call it in utter disbelief. Wanted a regular burrito, but to my surprise once I took a nice lil peek in the kitchen and oh, what do ya know! A whole slab or meat and shrimp sitting on a cutting board with a dirty rag, right next to the back door that was wide open (it's currently 84 degrees outside), and flies crawling on it.....that's when I had to decide if this "regular burrito" was worth a nice night of tears on the toilet and a trip to the doc. DEFINITELY NOT!...so I asked for my money back which wasn't a problem. Also, if you get a chance you'll notice the menu is awful, a million spelling errors. "The gilled chiken" that was a good one. They also serve burgers and fries....that's odd seeing as this is a Mexican restaurant..Just a nice red flag for ya! I'm going out on a limb here and saying this place just might not be up to health standards...ouch. Most likely never ever in my life coming back here again. read more
