The overall structure of the sanctuary is perfect for this-the ceiling is vaulted, and the floors are hard wood. I've been a few times for my nieces' youth theatre/ summer theatre camp productions. Students from Ball State direct, and local kids are the cast.they have a small snack bar area where they sell popcorn and candy, water and soda. I am not sure if they use the space for other things, but it would be a great party venue or for a wedding reception. My only wish is that they served beer/wine/liquor. No, I am not kidding. It could be a little more high brow that way.

The main street had lots of food trucks and yummies as grilled meat smells drifted thru the air. Today was a beautiful day and after many years we thought we would give it a try for a little get away. Like many things that change, some get better, some get worse. There was a good attendance and they were all partaking at the many many food stalls. -but that was about it. I enjoyed the company of my hubster and found a couple vendors that were somewhat flee market where I found a very nice bowl for $5 and an ornamental birdhouse for 3bucks. I have to say I am shocked that this was not already on Yelp. They have something for everyone here. Craft booths, art booths, food booths, airsoft gun booths, jewelry booths, and every other type of booth imaginable. I am a huge Star Wars fan, and I love to find vintage stuff. There are a couple booths that sometimes have really great Star Wars stuff for dirt cheap prices. I love this festival so much!!!!!! I usually go in the morning because it can get crowded sometimes later in the day. This year I get to come on both days because my cousins are coming--hoorah!!!! I have to say I am really shocked that the Earthfest was not already on Yelp.

There is something for everyone. Lots of great food, both fair type and that served up by local churches and organizations. There were even two places that sold ice cream made the old fashioned way. They each had fun setups that churned the ice cream. Sadly each time we went by they were making the ice cream and it wasn't ready. My husband loved seeing the large number of old tractors. On Saturday morning there is also a parade with the old tractors. There is live music and a field full of inflatables and horse rides for the kids. There is even a cornhole tournament where you can pay $10 for a team of two to compete. They also have rows of vendors selling all kinds of things. From clothes to shoes to honey and soap. I would definitely recommend you check it out. Fun way to get out with the family while supporting the local community. If you go from here to Matthews town you will find big rummage sales spread out all over town. And more fair type food being served up.

I went to some single A games in Virginia that were played on a high school field, so I was shocked when I arrived. It's a really nice facility, I was told IU Kokomo plays their games there. Not familiar with the ballpark, my experience started with buying tickets over the phone. I described the kind of seats I wanted, lady at ticket window provided exactly what I wanted; they were great seats!! The night I went was thirsty Thursday, so domestic beer was $2 for 12 Oz glass. Had a brat and eventually French fries. Parking was easy, may be a challenge if sold out. I had a blast!!!

Of course, we won't mind if you look around, they'll say. It's only eight dollars per person. Folks'll pass over the money without even thinking about it. For it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the Umbrella Bar and the Backyard, and sit in shirt-sleeves on a perfect afternoon. Or they'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game, and it'll be as if they'd dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick, they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come, Funk...The one constant through all the years, Funk, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game -- it's a part of our past, Funk. The range also provides shooting stands and base near the storage barn. You can also bring your own stands and targets. Tons of parking space. The range has multiple shooting sports you can participate in (USPSA, IDPA, SCSA, ICORE, GSSF, multigun, etc..) With that said, you can practice here using your own ammo and can draw from the holster on the bays. Overall, a great range for 30-50 yd shooting distances. Membership pricing is also decent for yearly membership.

This group is committed to conservation and 2nd amendment. This is a decent member's only gun…read morerange. They have 5 or 6 bays and there is always at least one open. There is not a lot of people that go here. The bays are very basic and have a large berm, a covered work bench with seating, barrels and target holders. The range was very clean, and they do not have a restroom facility, but they do have a porta-potty that was well maintained. Membership costs $175 per year and they have some very stringent rules to join. It seems very exclusive. On a side not, I was wondering who lived in the houses right across the street from the range. They must really hate life early in the morning. Anyway, I understand that this place is far off of the beaten path, even for North siders, but worth if because you are away from everyone and due to the club's exclusivity. If you are in the market for a private gun range, this is an excellent option. You just may have to drive.

We also got to see the sheep and the pigs which were very friendly and adorable. We saw the nest for the purple martins and walked around the pond. They also had a food truck which my friend ordered a small charcuterie board from and we took inside to enjoy because it was pretty humid outside. There also some gifts along with yak yarn and alpaca yarn that you can purchase. This place was amazing to visit and I'm so excited that we got to check something out that was really not that far from us. A definite must do.

Even the driest of the wines, the Cabernet Sauvignon, is very sweet. So, if you love sweet wines, this place is for you! Right now, they are only pouring a Cabernet, a red blend, a Riesling and a sweet Rose. The grapes are imported, but Woolley Yak has their own vineyard, and the intention is that they will soon start producing wine from their own grapes. You can get a flight of wine, or a glass of wine, or a mimosa, and then you can take your wine outside with you as you explore the grounds. There are picnic benches here and there. There's also a food truck that sells four different types of grilled cheese sandwiches and handheld charcuterie cups. I think food is only available Friday through Sunday, though. I visited with children (well, a teen and an almost tween), but they are a good hang and will play on a playground with the best of them, so we headed straight for the nature play space. The playground was designed to encourage kids to engage in unstructured play, so it has a lot of natural elements all around, like tree stumps, hay bales and logs. My kids are "co-op kids" for life (their early years were spent at a nature-based cooperative preschool), so they thrive with this type of playground. There's also a tire mound to climb, a balance beam to balance on, and a basketball shooting station made from a grain wagon. There's lots of space to run around, and a few trees to climb, too. The big draw of Woolly Yak is the yaks! There are also Babydoll Southdown sheep, Kunekune pigs and chickens that live on the ranch. You can just sit on a bench and watch these animals do their things in their living spaces. Or, if you want a more up-close experience, you can purchase a ticket to one of the animal experiences, like storytime with sheep or tea with lambs. You can also experience brushing the yaks and giving them treats. If you didn't want to do any of those experiences, though, you could just visit the ranch to see the animals for free! There is no admission to enter the ranch or to park. It's a nice place to visit to stroll around and see what you can see.
