Our room had everything a weary traveler could wish for: all the fixings for tea and coffee, an electric blanket, Wifi, TV, and tasteful and comfortable furniture! The bathroom was nice and spacious, and the glass shower has a nice way of retaining heat. The roses outside lend the property a charming feel. The couple that run the place are very friendly and welcoming without being invasive. The jewelry sold at the front desk is beautiful, reasonably priced, and is made by the owners' family! Also, I felt comfortable being out as a lesbian with my girlfriend there! Highly recommend!

The server was so aggressive and rude to us about it as well, turns out she was the manager even though she told us there was no manager on site. I'm a local, I will never come back. I work in an industry where people ask where to eat in bicheno, I will happily tell visitors to never come here.

Meredith House consists of upper floor accommodation in the heritage house, plus 4 ground floor suites in an adjacent Mews building. Ours was the Studio Mews, with queen bed and accessible bathroom, but no spa. Fine by us. We could park directly outside the door, and lug our (voluminous) luggage inside. We had a view of the House gardens, which also includes a BBQ space for those staying longer. It's a compact space, yet includes a dining setting and kitchenette area (microwave, not stove). Heat is by radiator and electric heater; and electric blankets, fluffy doona and blankets on the bed. Dinners can be obtained at a selection of close and nearby restaurants and taverns - your hosts will happily recommend the best. Save room for breakfast the next day, because... Noel and Neal put together a HUGE spread of continental and hot food for your included breakfast. If you're lucky, you might get to try Noel's baked ricotta on your fresh fruit and crumpets. The bacon, eggs and sausages are sourced locally from specialty producers; the stories of how they vary by the season are fascinating. You'll certainly leave stuffed to the brim, and may have to take some of the fresh pastries with you in a 'doggie bag' - better than leaving them to the resident doggies!

This is the dream. Lucky for us, they've built two free-standing studio apartments along with a two-bedroom beach house so we can all steal just a slice of their lifestyle. With so many activities in the area, we barely spent anytime in the apartment, but the time we did spend was as close to perfection as gets for us. What it lacked in posh luxury it made up for in relaxing, comfortable, modern amenities. The design was stunning, the small kitchen was fully stocked, and the location was a perfect jumping off point for all of the area's activities. Most of all, Iain and Belinda were such kind and accommodating hosts, we wanted them to adopt us. They stocked our larder both evenings with fresh breakfast supplies so we could be up with the birds, and we even bumped into them while kayaking in the bay. I think in the group of 5 that was on my outing, I was the only one who really really really loved oysters! Just the experience itself is unique enough to try out! While a few of the fixtures could no doubt use updating, the experience and the service here truly are both first class, and after three days driving around Bicheno, I can safely say the location is without question the most spectacular in town.
