I had to go here all the way from Westchester because my electric lawn mower stopped working three weeks back and my local Home Depot where I bought it won't take it for repair. It took me 40 minutes drive and traffic was mild (left home at 10am, off rush hour), and before I left I called them just to verify if I need an appointment or just drop off the equipment. The person on the other line is very professional and gave all the info I needed. When I got here, I was greeted by Peter who was really nice and help me out. This is my first visit on a Dewalt store and I was impressed on all the stuffs they are selling in this store. At first what I thought will just be a repair, Peter told me that they will send me a new one to my home since the mower is still in warranty. He told me it will take 2-3 weeks which I reply that I am not in a hurry since its winter already. I find him really professional with the way he answer the calls and dealing with customers on the floor. He also double check with me if all info such as my address and contact number is correct. No offense to the other employees, but if you see anyone other than Johnathan, than you're seeing the wrong guy. This guy went above and beyond his call of duty and did everything in his power, and more to help me. Including trying to fix my drill on the spot instead of just writing up a work order. Not sure why it should get one star. Maybe because it has a parking lot and was open when it was supposed to be. Same as Jim brought a dewalt saw in for repairs had the same experience Clerk ask what's wrong with this tool!!!!!. obvious parts broken and saw would stop on its own. Told clerk to plug it in Da. They had the saw for over 8 weeks when we called for a progress report no one knew S--T about it. After three months they said the saw was repaired and they had called to notify us (no such call) if they did why not call again????. The worst. Not helpful in any way. I am a General Contractor working in the New York City area for 28 years. I've had a lot of experience dealing with the repair centers over the years but this is the first time I brought my tools into the Dewalt center to see if I could get them repaired. I brought in various tools for repair and left in frustration after the technician repeatedly asked "tell me what's wrong with the tool"... As I am the general contractor and not the person using the tool on a daily basis I told him what I thought was wrong with it but my impression was I was here for them to look at the tool and for them to tell me why it wasn't functioning properly. Turns out that Dewalt does not do estimates on repair so if you're bringing it to the repair center thinking someone's going to be able to tell you why your drill stopped working or why your circular saw all of a sudden doesn't have any power etc., forget it. Beyond that the technician was incredibly lazy. I had three tools that weighed a lot and it was an easy entrance at the back door and he refused to open the back door for me and I had to hump the three tools all the way around from the parking lot to the front door while he stood there with his thumb up his proverbial butt. I couldn't believe it. My suggestion to anybody going to Dewalt throw it away and buy Bosch..great service centers fantastic attention to detail..unfortunately I'm probably going to have to junk these perfectly good tools they probably have minor things wrong with them but from this point forward no more Dewalt for me. read more

I do not understand the prior reviews. I am a contractor who lives in Putnam County. I drove down today with two issues on two different tools. They guys there could not have been more helpful. They were knowledgeable and totally made my hour and one half drive worth it. I have a full set of 20v DeWalt tools and couldn't be happier. read more
