I had an excellent experience with Dr. Marineyda Oyola and her entire team at Sarasota Endodontics…read more I was referred over this morning by my general dentist for evaluation of a tooth that had become acutely painful, and they were able to see me immediately and complete a same-day root canal. Dr. Oyola was calm, highly skilled, and extremely thorough throughout the process. She took the time to carefully evaluate the tooth and explained what she was seeing as she worked. It was clear that she was using advanced imaging and microscopic techniques to locate and treat all of the canals -- even a very small, curved one that could easily have been missed. The office itself is modern, spotless, and very well-run. The staff were professional, kind, and efficient from start to finish, especially given that this was an urgent add-on appointment. While no one looks forward to needing a root canal, I felt confident I was in expert hands the entire time. I'm very grateful they were able to accommodate me so quickly and provide excellent care when I needed it most. Highly recommend Dr. Oyola and her team.

Two years and 40 trips plus almost $4,000 is what I had to go through. This bridge that I paid for and wore for 30 months is in pieces. I was told, after I sent them this picture of the broken bridge in pieces, that the lab can repair it, repair?? And also they said it was three years old. Although it wasn't yet three years old I guess they don't expect dentures to last more than three years. It would cost me anywhere from $900 to $1700. 00. I also had the top two teeth separate from the base. The office told me it would coat $175. Per tooth plus the cost of the visit. I would expect the dental practice would stand by the patient and make the lab accountable. And no, I was told, I cannot see Dr. Dorciak. I can come to the office for a fitting. I refuse to give Dr. Dorciak's practice another penny and many more months of my time to have the bridge repaired. I went to another practice. Within two weeks and two trips my bottom bridge was made. They fit perfectly. I went one time had the impression taken and one time to pick the bridge up. This took two weeks and two trips total to the dentist. They also repaired my tooth bridge and no charge. Take my suggestion. Go to another dental practice. Cathy Wood

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE! Dr. Opps is a complete sheister!…read moreWent in for initial intake and onboarding as a new patient so I needed a few exrays and I had some pain from 2 broken teeth one being so broken and decayed that the "treatment plan" for that particular tooth ended with a referral to an oral surgeon for extraction. The other broken tooth was inspected by Opps and he laid out a very CLEAR "treatment plan"which included a referral to an endontist to get a root canal, then I was to follow back up with Dr. Opps to get a crown put on the tooth. I secured a appt with endontist and when I went to the endontist appt the endontist said: "we can do a root canal, but you honestly only have about a 50/50 shot of saving this tooth with a crown! I was in shock! WHAT!?? So, in my initial appt after evaluating my tooth and creating a "treatment plan" Dr Opps NEVER mentioned that there would be a potential problem getting a crown! Keep in mind dentists are trained and ABLE to perform ROOT CANALS themselves and a qualified proficient dentist should be able to tell whether you're a candidate for a crown or not and certainly a better outcome prediction of a 50/50 chance!!!! The endontist office took a special type of xray upon my arrival (that my insurance did not cover) and that coupled with the fact that I walked in the door on referral from Dr Opps. COST ME OVER $600 from my dental insurance MAXIMUM for the year that I could have used on ACTUAL SERVICES THAT I COULD HAVE GOTTEN COMPLETED, as I do have some tiny cavities and I'm in need of a deep cleaning as well!!! I left the endontist's office in shock and disma!!! Why go through a root canal for a 50/50 chance of saving my tooth with a crown!??? I opted to NOT get a root canal and have the tooth in question extracted because 50/50 chance of saving it was not worth going through a ROOT CANAL only to possibly be told sorry a crown won't work!!! I was heavily disappointed and absolutely felt taken advantage of as again this man's "care plan" WASTED WELL OVER $600 of my insurance benefit for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! I went back to Dr Opps at Smiles the next day to speak to someone in the business office because I could not believe the amount of money this man's blatant IGNORANCE, INCOMPETENCE, and/or GREED cost me! Meghan the office manager at Smiles of LWR took me to an empty office and we spoke behind a closed door, and I explained my dissatisfaction of what had taken place and the fact that I wanted those BOGUS CHARGES at least credited back to me since he led me on a wild goose chase! I figured at least with that credit back I could utilize it for services I COULD GET! ... Dr Opps enters the small office and closed the door behind him. This man basically told me "there's ALWAYS a chance a procedure may not work out." Well there is also a "chance" I could get hit by a bus crossing the street but I don't play in traffic with a blindfold on so there's that!! I explained that I feel that a 50/50 chance was a pretty steep chance to take not only FINANCIALLY but submitting myself to a root canal that very well would not result in a crown after all!!! He said "SORRY YOU FEEL THAT WAY AND BTW FIND A NEW DENTIST BECAUSE I DONT FEEL COMFORTABLE TREATING A PATIENT THAT IS UPSET WITH ME!" I could not believe this man's AUDACITY! So now you've wasted my time, and over $600 of my ins benefit and now you're dropping me as a patient because I had the balls to call you out on all of this and tell you it's not ok and you're a shady person????? THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE JOKE! I'm in my mid 40's and I've never had a Dr tell me to find another doctor because I had the audacity to stand up for myself and call him out on his shady business practices. I will definitely be finding yet again a new dentist because unless you're a millionaire with nothing to lose or maybe just want to go through root canals for fun, I RECOMMEND GOING ANYWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR DENTAL NEEDS! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE Thank goodness that the Endontist( DR GARI) WAS HONEST OR I WOULD HAVE GONE THROUGH A ROOT CANAL FOR NOTHING!!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND SMILES OF LWR! However, I will say that Anya, the dental assistant was wonderful she did all of my initial on-boarding X-rays and was friendly and professional while doing so. Also shout out to Meghan, the office manager! She is absolutely wonderful she listened to my concerns and emailed me my X-rays promptly as promised because I have to go find a new dentist because Dr Opps acted like a scared little boy when confronted about his shady business practices!!! I honestly hope she finds a better place to work. Dr Opps has ZERO INTEGRITY MEGHAN IF YOU SEE THIS I APPRECIATE YOU SO MUCH AND I HOPE YOU ARE TREATED WELL THERE BECAUSE IF HE DOES THIS TO PATIENTS I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW HE MUST TREAT THE STAFF! I have long tooth roots and she was unable to get them numb. She got to the point of closeness to the root and could see it was reaching a lot of sensitivity and commented that I was going to feel this. Rather than try to do something to increase my numbness, she proceeded to drill into them. she had a nurse there to try and hold me down as my reaction surprise and certainly torture. Unfortunately there were two roots that needed drilled out in that tooth. by the time it was finished, the tooth had to be sealed off and in the amount of time that had passed, my mouth was returning to almost full sensitivity. I left to drive home and would have let out a scream if I thought it would help any. you would think a tooth with no roots left would not hurt anymore but I couldn't chew for a good seven days after. pain medication was not offered but just over the counter stuff, which I took plenty of. if I ever need another, I think I will just get the tooth pulled. they seemed like nice people but it was certainly as close to torture as I've ever been and as I'm over 70, I've had plenty of teeth work over the years. Certainly can't recommend her practice and would explore any other option rather than go there!
