We were seen by the nurse fairly quick and did have to wait approximately 15 minutes for the Doctor which I thought was reasonable. Doctor Mark did a thorough exam and ordered a chest X-ray. He faxed 3 prescriptions to a nearby Walgreens, which we picked up twenty minutes later. The clinic took our insurance and only charged us $35 for our visit. We were very happy we came and would recommend Family Physicians to others needing medical attention.

He spends more time asking the patient about lifestyle, diet, daily aches and pains, etc. than any other doctor I know. He has taken the time to follow-up with literature on diet and nutrition to help me improve my long-term health. It's almost like he's trying to put himself out of business! His office is run by his large family, so it's literally a family practice. They make up a very conscientious and friendly staff. Finally, his office even filled out my insurance infomation, mailed the papers to me so that I could review the options and make corrections if needed and sign, and included a SASE so that I could send it back free of charge. These personal touches show me that Dr. Barrilleaux truly cares about serving his patients. Finally, as an engineering/science major who wants to understand the root causes of any problems I may be having, he's happy to answer any questions you have about the way your body works.

She is autistic, she's rather sensitive to pain and we have a family history of locals not working well for us, so everyone agreed that she needed to be put under general anesthesia for the procedure. her regular dentist doesn't do that, and the oral surgeon they work for doesn't do that either. so I called my insurance company and they referred me to dr. Pollard in Sulphur they're the only oral surgeons on our policy they told me that they wouldn't do it either. After some digging I finally found a local oral surgeon who would ...dr. Boudreaux here in Lake Charles. they did the procedure everything was fine no problems.. the only bad thing is I had to pay for the entire procedure cash because my insurance company wouldn't pay them. then today I was speaking to someone on another group and discovered that dr. Pollard does general anesthesia all the time! so I called his office and guess what ? they straight-up admitted to me with no problem whatsoever that they just don't like working with special needs children ! the only reason they refused to do service on her is because she's autistic. Please let anybody that you know who might have a special needs child be aware of this before they take their child in ...and I would highly suggest you consider an another provider entirely , someone who does not discriminate against children based off of something that they can't control. I will be contacting Blue Cross Blue Shield to let them know so they can be removed from their provider list and they can find another more suitable dentist in the area.
