    Train delay
    Roland Beau P.

I have had the supreme DISpleasure of taking three trains with DB and ALL three have had an issue. My train from Paris to Stuttgart was delayed, and then they cancelled because of a WW2 bomb. No big deal, not your fault...but do you know what is your fault, telling us for over TWO hours that busses are coming and then telling us, nope, they are not, good luck finding a way to Your city. I had a 3 hour trip turn into a 10 hour trip. Then I had a train from Stuttgart and that train was over 25 minuets late getting to Zurich. Then my train back from Zurich to Stuttgart was cancelled and then changed. I was told to take train A and switch. But guess what?!?! That train was also cancelled! I had to then wait for another hour! You need to do EVERYTHING BETTER!! In my mind, your company is trash, and I cannot wait to NEVER use your services again. And save the, you can have a partial refund crap for the tourists. You will NEVER refund anything, because you purposely make it so complicated that most people give up. But I will make sure that tell EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. TO NEVER USE DB. You failed, and as a company, you should feel like a failure.

    Munich Hauptbahnhof

One poor experience and it clears out all the good experiences. Yep, that's what happened here, though it was technically TWO poor experiences. The first was the complete failure of the S-Bahn from the Munich airport to the Hauptbahnhof. A total collapse of everything and I have no idea how long it lasted because I managed to get a taxi about 30 minutes into the situation. https://www.yelp.com/biz/s-bahnhof-flughafen-m%C3%BCnchen-oberding-2?hrid=pI6vMttXmr0dO7j5vQcvXQ So now it's time to leave Munich and we're headed to Hamburg on an ICE train. Printed our tickets at the kiosk, no problem. And just to confirm the track number, we installed the DB app which said... "Your train has been cancelled." UH, WHAT? Yes, without providing any real notification to anyone in the Munich Hauptbahnhof, the train from Munich to Hamburg was due to be taken out of service at Berlin. WHAT!!! So we asked for some help and the customer service woman says, "Just take the train on track four." Uh, okay. So we stood on that track (which wasn't posted as the train to Hamburg) where THAT train was delayed by nearly an hour. Yes, that's the famed German efficiency at work here. Two stars. We arrived safely but late. I've experienced better. [Review 12046 overall, 1829 of 2019.]

Multiple stops were cancelled from Berlin to Frankfurt. Offered a bus to take you the next available stop which is 200 miles from Berlin

I normally review my trips in TripAdvisor under SVRyder but there is no place I could find to review DB Trains but I wanted to share my experience in Yelp so others can be informed of what could happen and a tip to protect yourself in case something goes wrong. Two stars because when it works, it's great. I completed a 10 day trip to Germany with mixed reviews of the DB train system and wanted to share my experience so others can be ready for what could happen. The good is the trains are modern and fast when it moves but are often late. Despite it being a popular form of transport my german colleagues complain about it. My trip from Frankfurt to Hanover experienced a less than 10 min delay and was moving at 200km/hr at some points. My next ride on DB from Berlin to Frankfurt was canceled and I found out 3hrs before departure. I found another way to get Frankfurt and tried to get a refund. The DB customer service person at Frankfurt airport was helpful. You can mail it in but I'm glad I tried to get a refund in person as he helped explain some of the info they wanted and called his supervisors to help. Eventually, I found out DB can refund you if you have a european bank or offer a voucher of same value that expires in a year. Cannot refund my american credit card. Other than that, you lose your money. My advice is to download their app so you are informed of any changes via notifications and pay with a credit card company that will work with you to refund your money. US credit companies are good at that. I hope this review helps other travelers who are looking to use the DB trains.

TAKE THIS TOUR. This…read morebus tour has got to be one of the best I've ever taken. Other Yelpers have detailed the itinerary below, so I don't need to. Get a cold beer before entering the bus and sit back and listen to the bilingual presentation. One interesting fact not noted by the tour guide was that wherever the Wall previously stood, and a street has been paved over the spot, a line of red bricks have been set into the pavement to permanently indicate where it stood. This bus tour is the absolute best way to orient yourself to the many wonders that Berlin offers.

Paying for a city tour? What for? There is a great alternative for the regular price Bus number…read more100. Start at the Alexanderplatz and go to the Zoo (which is worth visiting too, though it's another story). With the 2.10 Euro ticket you trip can last up to 2 hours which means that you can get out at any stop and proceed your journey with the next bus. And for 6.30 Euro you can travel Bus, S-Bahn and U-Bahn in the zones A and B the whole daylong. Anyway if you start at Alexanderplatz, you will drive past the TV tower, Lustgarten & Museumsinsel / Museums island, Berliner Dom, Humboldt-University, and State Opera (from which it's just a 5 Minute walk to one of the most beautiful Berliner squares Gendarmenmarkt). You will see almost the whole Unter den Linden street. The bus will stop right in front of the Reichstag, from which you can walk to the Brandenburger Tor, Pariser Platz and the Memorial For the Murdered Jews of Europe. From the bus you will catch the sight of the Bundeskanzleramt, Haus der Kulturen der Welt/ House of the Cultures of the World, Schloss Bellevue, Siegessäule/ Victory Column, and Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche/ Memory Church. Mind that most times of the day the bus is as full with people as a cucumber with seeds. No wonder as for many tourists it is the best way to explore Berlin. Take the S-Bahn to get back to the Alexanderplatz and to enjoy a couple of nice views of Berlin or may be to get out at the Hackescher Markt for a relaxing beer in one of the hundrends of street cafes. Yes, afther the 100 Bus journey you definitely deserve a beer!
