This place is tricky to find but evidently this a good thing. "It keeps out the riffraff", so I was…read moretold by an old salty bar maid named "French". She eyeballed me with her one good eye as she muttered the words. Leading me to feel as if I was the "riffraff" of which she spoke. My friend and I were wearing shorts and flipflops as it was mid summer. Almost immediately I tripped on the uneven wooden floor planking and impaled my big toe with a 2 inch splinter. As I pulled it out I looked around at numerous rusty nails poking up. I considered myself lucky at that point. I would have split right then but it was so hard this place and now I'm in pain and bleeding. I just needed a drink!! Uncaringly, French offered up the daily special. "A good honest fisherman's drink and pay in advance", she barked. I gave her a 20 and she disappeared out the back somewhere. 25 minutes later later she reappears from dark staircase to the left and behind us and hands us 2 steamy wooden flagons topped with a writhing frothy head of foam. "2 Maggot Bhoonas", says she. Her 1/2 cocked smirk showing a snaggled golden tooth. It glimmered in the sickly candlelight. I scraped away most of the unidentified froth and obvious maggots and pounded the liquid part of the drink. To be fair. It wasn't as unpleasant as I thought it would be. Almost like a warm very salty & sour Mai Tai. Refreshing and quite warming because it was absolutely damp and cold inside. We paid our tab and we left. Myself, limping and toe bleeding. Never again to return.

As she worked a chunk of seaweed out of her hair, the waitress recommended a cocktail known as the Briney Trawler, an intriguing blend of Clamato, pickle brine, and moonshine. I ordered another two rounds! It was delicious, and the doctors say that my blindness should only be temporary. I highly recommend sampling the clam brûlée. With burnt orangey skin and a soggy bottom, it's essential to any trip to Atlantic City. Warm and cozy inside, with a nice drafty veranda... and everyone, really everyone, is welcome. Come have a dram at the Drafty Clam!

We hired Leo as our public adjuster for a complex insurance claim. Leo was the least professional /…read morecompetent service provider I have ever interacted with. He didn't add value to the process (despite his enormous fee), and his negative attitude made an already stressful process even more unpleasant. He failed to live up to any of his customer service promises. Simply stated, I would never hire or recommend him to anyone else, even if his services were free. Leo displayed an alarming lack of understanding/recollection of our claim, missing major items (totaling nearly $100K). He couldn't be bothered to review pictures, claim documents, etc. to identify major missing items--that burden fell entirely to me and my family. Leo was not an effective or eager advocate on our behalf. He was consistently argumentative and demeaning. He reminded us on several occasions that he was "too busy" to keep our claim straight with all of the other things he had going on. To illustrate, below are 2 examples (of many) that show his carelessness and lack of attention to detail. 1) After Leo suggested (based on his "17 years of experience") that we should take the initial (very low) offer from insurance, we asked why there was no allowance for packing/storing all of the contents of our home. He said "that should be in there," but when we pointed out that we didn't see it, he said "oh, insurance must have taken that out--I had asked for it originally." So either Leo asked for it and failed to notice that they mistakenly didn't include it, or he forgot to ask for it but didn't want to tell us that. I'm not sure which is worse, but in either case, there was a very obvious $20K item he missed that was only discovered because we reviewed the 40 page insurance estimate in detail. No apology from him either--it was as if we inconvenienced him by discovering his major oversight. 2) Near the end of the claim, we sent Leo a document with ~15 open items we felt needed to be addressed (including pictures and original receipts). Rather than reviewing the details and thoughtfully responding, he replied that our asks were "frivolous" and "ridiculous" and that he no longer wished to continue representing us (and further demanded his payment in full and threatened with imposing late fees if we didn't pay him, despite the claim not being settled yet). After discontinuing our relationship with Leo, we submitted those same questions directly to the insurance carrier adjuster. After a pleasant 30 minute conversation, they approved 14 of the 15 items (an addl.~$50K). This made it abundantly clear that Leo was the issue all along. He either didn't understand the details of our claim sufficiently, or was an ineffective communicator with our insurer, or was uninterested in investing the extra time it would take to reach the appropriate settlement and just wanted his "cut" so he could move on to the next. If you are thinking of hiring Leo, I would strongly suggest either not hiring a public adjuster at all or hiring someone else. Leo was an expensive, ineffective, and frustrating headache, rather than a competent and knowledgeable advocate who made the process easy and fair.

Very knowledgeable about the process, strategic, generous with his time and talent- Through his involvement we were ultimately able to proceed and collect from the responsible insurer, at the appropriate rate. Without Leo- we would not have been able to do this- Highly recommended.

I asked to speak to Holly and I was informed that she wasn't in and I was like well can I leave my name and number and get back to me Precious the receptionist hung the phone up on me! Seriously that's how you speak to a potential customer and who was simply asking tax related questions? WOW!!! Great way to run a business. I see you don't have any Yelp reviews. Sorry to say that your first review on Yelp will be negative. Such a shame I could have given you lots of repeat business. I was never informed until I called back and spoke to a woman identifying her self as the owner of the business told me that it's their policy their company policy not to give tax quotes over the phone that's fine and I can respect that , but I was never informed that when I first initially got on the phone, and was spoken to in a very unpleasant and unprofessional manner by Precious the receptionist has a very , very unpleasant manner, and I don't recommend this business at all!
