In fact I spent a but of time simply walking around the building simply admiring its architecture. The Schouwberg is actually the Antwerp Opera House, and while it would have been good to go inside, and possibly even see a show, unfortunately time was at a premium. Still, even if you don't get to go to the Opera, or even have the opporunity to step inside, it is still worth checking out, even if it is simply o check out the building itself - it is absolutely magnificent.

Arenberg is also a theatre building with a rich history: it was constructed in the 16th century and was originally meant to be a guild house. The heart of the Arenberg is the Main Hall ("Grote Zaal"). It seats 800 persons and is perfect for any kind of event. The Small Hall ("Kleine Zaal") has a maximum capacity of 92 persons (seated) / 150 persons (standing). Before and after the performance, u can enjoy a drink in the foyer or in their "Cantina". Due to safety regulations, use of the cloakroom is compulsory (1st floor). But don't worry, it's free of charge!
