Was very good and a go to place before the pandemic. We just started going out to eat, and thought that we should give our old favorite a try again. Big Mistake!! We ordered kids noodles, which were very dry and tasted like frozen vegetables. The Chicken 555 was at most sub-par. The punugulu were meh - chutney was tasteless. The pastries that we had were the worst in the meal. The kids were so excited until the 1st bite. The butterscotch pastry was more of an Almond pastry and that too a bad one. Most of my coworkers are Indian and they love this place. They brought me along on a Friday around noon and wow was I in for a treat. I was so impressed with the meal here that I brought my family with me the next day for dinner. It might seem a bit chaotic when you line up to order but they will have your meal out pretty fast. I tried the chicken burger and wow did it hit the spot. Very moist with great seasoning, it was delicious. Also had some of the chicken fried rice, which was great. It wasn't greasy or oily at all, it was perfect. Later I had a cannoli which was great. We had some curry which of course was fantastic. Overall this place is great for lunchtime or dinner. I'd say it's a great place for a quick bite and some groceries if you need. Word on the groceries - primarily laxmi and deep varieties. If you're in the area for groceries I'd say it's just the bare bones. They also sell meat which is a plus. The restaurant is a counter style with a few items that are fusion. A bunch of kati rolls - mild, medium, and spicy type paneer rolls, paneer, chicken, lamb burger, typical chat flavors like pani Puri and pav Bhaji, and biryani on the weekends. They ha d some great dessert options as well - such as gulab jamun cupcake and butterscotch cannoli, as well as different lassi types. The flavor was pretty good - to satisfy your craving for chat flavors the portions were good and shareable size. It wasn't anything to write home about but decent flavors. The shahi paneer burger special was pretty good I think. I liked how the burger was layered with lettuce, onion, veggie patty and obviously the paneer. I think it had all the components that I would expect from a burger which was nice. My only thing was that maybe the shahi paneer had a more mellow flavor and it might not have been the best curry for the burger. I got it because it was on the special menu but I heard that the paneer tikka burger is much better so I'd go for that next time! Otherwise, I tried the veg machuria momas as well and I liked how it was shaped like a dumpling since it was a fusion restaurant. Being from Houston I've been blessed and spoiled with an amazing array of Indian and Pakistani food places. Dallas doesn't really have too many Indian places that it's known for but I heard Irving has some of the best Indian spots. Made the drive up here hoping to try some good Indian food. The menu here is huge and it took me awhile to figure out what I wanted. The menu is big enough that you can get whatever you're feeling. There's also a small food market inside the restaurant if you're interested. The mango lassi was my favorite part of the meal, I honestly wanted to get another one when I was leaving but the line was way too long. It's pretty cheap too at just $3, definitely worth it highly recommended. They have a variety of other drinks that sounded really good too like the badam milk. The pani puri here was just okay for me nothing too special. You can either get it at the table or they have a pani puri bar where they serve it to you. The chicken curry platter combo comes with a different type of curry each day and today it was butter chicken which I thought was really good. The bread they give you with the combo isn't naan which was a little disappointing. The chicken kebab was really good. Put some lime on it it compliments the meat really well. Overall this place didn't blow me away but it was good and I would definitely come back. I wouldn't recommend driving too far for this place, but if you're in the area it's a solid option. Desi District gives me crazy cravings:)) I don't know whether to be happy or sad for its convenience and late hours--always there tempting me! The veggie Kati roll was probably the worst i ever had and the Patty /kebab inside it is like stone , you can't break it with hammer also . The Delhi belly is just a misleading name too - it was sans any flavored Sauce as such , absolutely no flavor to it just dry paneer with some lettuce and mayo like sauce . Somewhat new Indian restaurant in Irving with a large variety of food ranging from idlis, dosas to indo Chinese to biryanis and fusion food. Despite the large variety I think they do a good job with the food. The stand outs for me are the pani puri and rabdi gulab jamun. I could eat these two things all day long. I've also tried the idlis, Kati rolls, chili chicken and fried rice. They were all decent, chili chicken was definitely on the spicy side. I love that they have a small store and area to buy fresh meat as well! If I lived closer to Irving I would be a regular here! read more

I absolutely love this Indian fusion restaurant with so many of my favorite Indian snack foods and so many new twists on international foods. By far my favorite items on the menu are the paneer Manchurian taco and samosa Chaat taco. Watch out though - that paneer Manchurian taco is SPICY, and that is coming from an Indian who loves spice. Also recommend the Kati rolls, pastries, momos. The paneer burger I felt wasn't the most flavorful but still tasty. The drinks are also really creative - highly recommend the custard apple milkshake! On top of really great food, their indoor ambience is really clean, fun and comfortable with a cute loft area at the top of the stairs with more seating. I think overall there are incredibly strong flavor profiles with creative cross-cultural dishes. Will definitely be back! read more

Someone told me about this place so I thought I'd check it out. To provide a little context, I have a best-selling Indian instant pot cookbook out, and I grew up cooking and eating Indian food, so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to indian food. I do however enjoy other cuisines equally if not more so. So the idea of a place like this with fusion flavors was very appealing. We came during off hours when they have chaat, burgers, vada pav, momos and kathi rolls. For the full menu you will need to come during mealtimes. So we got a lamb Kathi roll, a papdi chat and a gulag jamun cupcake. And then we went back and got an Oreo paan and a kulfi because it was all sooo good. The papdi chat was fantastic. It had chopped up cucumbers in it which made it taste light and refreshing. I tried hard not to eat all of the chat because I knew I wouldn't have room for the other stuff if I did that! Besides my husband was clamoring for some hah! The kathi roll comes with a bean salad that's a little on the bland side. But the kathi roll is bursting with flavor. The kabab is bang on for taste. Unlike sone other kathi rolls I've had, this one had coleslaw and mayo in it. It made for a delightful combination. I set some aside to take home. I love this fusion of flavors. The gulab Jamun cupcake sounded very intriguing to me! It was a cupcake with half a gulab Jamun in the bottom of it. I couldn't taste much gulab Jamun flavor in the cake but it was a good cupcake with great frosting. The Oreo paan is pan between two Oreo cookies. Less paan flavor than unadulterated paan but that may not a bad thing for some people. I loved the creativity of this dish. The kulfi was creamy and just fantastic. They have a delightful little dessert case with some lovely fusion dishes. Next time I plan to try the rabdi Tres leches. I also plan to come during the lunch hour so I can try the kheema pav as well as the chicken tikka tosa. Maybe I will be a pig and try a popsicle or two since they looked so good! I probably should come back with friends so we can try different things. I also want to take home some goat meat and the little lamb chops they had in their grocery section. Randomly came across this place and it is mind blowing!!!! It's an Indian fusion restaurant/cafe and groceries all in one. It's not your typical Indian restaurant, desi district puts a twist on their food with so many creative options on their menu. The ambience is great and the place has a sleek urban look to it. It has a hipster feel and something you'd see on Instagram. The service was great, each of their staff member was welcoming and friendly. I tried the chicken tosa (taco + dosa), pav bhaji fondue, butter chicken tikka burger, papdi chaat, veg noodles, mango mouse, and gulab jaman cupcake. I'm not proud of myself for eating(shared with sister and best friend) all this in one sitting but I'm not complaining because the food exceeded my expectations. Everything was so rich in flavor and cooked to perfection. This is honestly going to be my new go to spot. I discovered this place through a friend that works around the area. She always passed by it and told me she wanted to try it, so I went with her. I love the concept of this restaurant - it is a fusion of different foods from different cultures with Indian food. It was so cool to see this idea in a restaurant because I had never seen it before. The food was a little disappointing though. We had the Pav Bhaji Fondue, Chicken Tosa (taco/dosa), Pani Puri, Gulab Jamun cupcake, and Gulab Jamun Rabdi Cup (almost like a pudding cup). The Pav Bhaji Fondue tasted great - just like any other Pav Bhaji I've had. I expected more from the Chicken Tosa, but it was very bland and dry. The Pani Puri also did not have any flavor and the fillings did not have enough spices in it so it tasted like a bland potato filling. I was really excited to check it out! Just sounded like a much needed desi street food spot. We came here around 330 on a Saturday afternoon! Learned that between peak meal hours, they don't offer their full food menu. Only the Kati rolls, chaats, and a few select things. I was initially really excited that they had chicken 65 on the menu, but alas, it was not offered at the time of my visit *sad face* Anyway, we got the papdi chaat which was solid. However, it was $6 and we're used to the super tasty $3 massive one at Taj Grocers. I got the chicken tikka Kati roll. The paratha (wrap) itself was great. The chicken was breaded and not quite chicken tikka unfortunately. Tasted decent, but not what I was expecting. The ambiance is fun and hipster. Love the writing on the wall and mason jar lights!
