The store was more organized this time around, but it wasn't as packed either. The most noticeable thing about this time around is the non odor of fish smell. When we have gone to some Asian stores, the stink of fish is very strong from the moment you enter the store. This store was not the case. Hopefully this is not a one time thing. Halalco started out as an ethical supermarket, but now that it has high foot traffic, the quality of their meat dropped significantly. The halva I bought was from a brand called El Bawadi, and I personally hope that they will carry more flavors from that brand in the future, because there was only the pistachio flavor. I really like halva as a dessert or treat. When I came I also remember seeing that they also carry Turkish delight, baklava, teas, drinks, canned goods, incense, a few gifts, and more.
