Best Tanning salon I have been to in a long time! They are expensive but it is WELL WORTH IT! The beds are always clean, the ladies that work there are super nice. I stay between a level 2 bed and 3. I got tan in 3 visits. They give you a free bag with 2 samples of tanning lotion. You MUST have the tanning glasses or you have to buy some but there only like $8.00 there. The service I requested was great with a clean facility and easily located right in LAKEWOOD town center. The staff is really nice. It has a good vibe to it and you definitely get a quality of what you pay for for your dollar. I would definitely suggest coming here for your tanning needs or blue light red light specials. bad bad bad TERRIBLE PLACE. do NOT go here even if you really want to be tan during winter. it is TERRIBLE!! i listened to the people and got a level two bronzed spray tan. they recommend you leave it on for 5-6 hours but i only left it on for 4.5 and it is SO ORANGE. we bought a primer and everything and did everything right and mine still hella splotchy. just do self tan at this point. i'm ending my life read more

This location is the best in the area because it is extremely clean and the people that work here are really nice. I come here for my spray tans and the machine here is in much better condition than other spray tan machines at different locations. My only recommendations is to update your hours online because they show that you're open till 10pm Monday- Friday. Also, when I first started coming here you had a fan in the spray tan room I thought that was a really nice touch but I noticed you guys got rid of that. I think you should bring it back! read more

I went to this place in Sept 2021 start my tan before vacation. First of all I'd like to say after the lady lying to me that I couldn't use my $25 coupon corp did get that straight. But then every time I went in there you could just tell she didn't like me and was talking behind me back. Yesterday I decided to send corp another email not asking for anything but leaving a comment and they sent me a email back so rude saying maybe this will refresh your memory. That's so rude for a business to say before that vacation I never went there because all the girls too much tan with their fake hair were nothing but stuck up and looked down on you if you didn't fit their little group. The location itself, like other reviewers posted, is clean. This salon is really "by the rules" or just money hungry. I've been tanning with desert sun for over a year and have unlimited spray tanning membership. I came into this location today to do a level 4 versa and was told it's an $8 up charge for level 4.... mind you I have done a level 4 here and at the Tacoma store many of times without an "upcharge" being brought up. Also the girls clearly work on commission at all the locations because like all other salons they will try to sell you lotions even when you just bought one yesterday because "this is the best sale of the year and it ends tomorrow but for the low price of a million dollars we will get you a 1oz bottle of lotion" read more

I paid for 2 months of platinum tanning back in 2012 and only used one month before going on vacation. I had intented to use the other month when I came back but ended up not using it. I called today on the off chance to see if they were still tracking because I'm going on vacation again. I didn't really have high hope but figured what the heck. She said they were tracking it but my card had been canceled because it had been reported stolen. Yay! I would just need to pay to have it reactivated which I expected but then she tells me no worries they can probably wave my balance. Wait, what? What balance? Then she says I was on a monthly contract. No I wasn't. She goes on about how they placed me one and I owe them a abalance. Why would I owe you a balance if I suspended my account anyway? Sure you're doing me a favor by waving a balance that shouldn't be there? I think I'll pass and go somewhere else but hey keep up the good work, maybe someone will else will believe it. It's a shame that I will be taking my business elsewhere, the girls there used to be so pleasant and I'm not interested in having a mystery balance waved. At least at a new facility, I can get new customer perks. read more

By far my favorite Desert Sun Tanning center location and I've been to several of them that only is the salon always clean the staff is very knowledgeable and they're always very helpful I've never had a bad experience here. Sarah the manager is amazing and Rhiannon and Kaylee are my favorite as well. They're always cheerful and always let me know of the most recent or current promotions and are never pushy they always let me make a decision. I actually drive about 35 minutes to come to this particular location because my experience has always been good the beds are up-to-date And I really wish I could give them more than a five star rating. If you have the opportunity to come to this location please try it you won't regret it. read more

I have only been several times so far, but so far I've had a very positive experience. The ladies at the counter have been friendly and helpful, and although they suggest the nicer, better product because it's their job I can tell they are probably being honest in their opinions. It is expensive, but that's the nature of tanning. I'd rather pay for a nice tan then get a bad tan. This location is clean and well kept. Some beds show wear but nothing to be concerned about. EEEEKKKK!!!! Y'all, I have found my new home away from home! This location has it all. I signed up today and I know it is early, but I am in love! I switched over from another tanning salon that was close to my house and I am so happy I made the switch. They have great deals going on this month for the New Year so I treated myself with their membership that includes all services. There were two girls working that were so friendly and helped me through every service with ease. I had a lot of questions and spent over an hour with them. Lol. I tried out their Red Light Therapy, a bed tan, photo facial, and ended with a spray tan. I got home about an hour ago and already see results. They provide towels, robes so I didn't have to change after every session, and cute little bags to carry all of my products in. Tomorrow I am going back to try out their Cocoon thing and another photo facial. GO, GO, GO!!! You won't regret it! read more

Horrible experience here. First off, the girls at the front desk had zero personality and even worse customer service skills. Before tanning I felt like I was being read my Miranda rights for a required disclosure regarding the dangers of tanning. After that, I Did a spray tan. You would think after such a thorough introduction someone would offer to show me how to use the verse spa but no, they just sent me on in. I assumed it couldn't be too difficult and that I could figure it out. While I did manage, some guidance would've been nice. Also, there were dirty foot prints all over the rug from the last persons barrier cream (gross) and the entire spray tan machine was soaked with water all in the bottom of it (also gross). The worst part, there were no towels in my room whatsoever so I had to use hair nets to wipe the cream off my hands after I sprayed, very awkward. Sadly, I wasn't happy with the results and had to walk around with a botched spray tan for 2 weeks... thanks Desert Sun. I remember when the girls at the front desk were bubbly and had great service, sad to see them go downhill with employees. read more

I am really glad I switched from L.A Tan to Desert Sun. The beds are much newer. The beds are always hot, I've never been in a cold bed here. Customer service is very important to me. I went in just wanting to tan. I asked about the bleach gel for my teeth and the girl was very knowledgable since she uses the product herself. She guided me into purchasing, but was not pushy. Just recently started tanning for the first time at Desert Sun. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help and answer any of your questions. They usually have really good specials for the super beds which helps out be because they can get a little pricey. I saw someone complaining on a review that they charge by the minute? That is not true. You can go in for as short or up to 20 minutes which is the maximum on the machines. Once you pay the monthly fee, you can go as many days as you like as well. This is by far THE best desert sun I've been to! The beds are always clean and constantly getting new bulbs and updates to keep the beds the hottest. The girls are wonderful.
