I had a horrible experience here. The landlord, Jessica, cheats people. Many other tenants felt the same way how much they did not like the apartment complex and couldn't wait to leave. Not to mention my blinds were fixed and reattached with Sandwich bread zip ties. Also, I had left my washer and dryer there and told Jessica about it in case she wanted to keep it for the apartment. When I asked her if because I'm leaving some appliances, if she could help me save a little on my security deposit, she claims that she doesn't owe anything but she'll see what she can do. She claimed it because I had to put the washer and dryer outside before I told her that, technically I had dumped them so technically Hunter Ridge found them. She got very defensive when I tried to call her out on it. Needless to say from her previous behaviors, I got my security deposit back today and it's very evident that she did absolutely nothing to try and help me. There was also a time that I got locked out of my apartment and they did nothing to help me, so I had to pay $50 for a locksmith compared to the $25 hunters ridge makes you pay. According to the locksmith I had called, they are out there frequently because of the same issue. Moral of the story I did not enjoy my time at hunters Ridge. The one good thing about that place was Danny, the maintenance man.

I'm am so not happy with this apartment complex. My husband and I got married in May of 2014 and we…read morewould be moving out here to Holloman July 2014. At the time base housing wait was too long so we had to look for other places to live. I found the capri manor and I was very excited about it. They has great deals, no pet policy, military friendly, and the apartments looked nice. So I contacted them and I went back and forth with one of the girls working there (bless her heart I asked so many questions) and eventually we decided on an apartment. So after driving 10 long hours to get to Alamogordo we arrive at the apartment complex. We sit down with the manager, Patricia, and start going over everything and we asked to see the apartment. Thank god we did. We walk over to our soon to be home and waited to be let in. After several tries the manager could not get the door open so she had to call maintenance. At this time the neighbor comes out and is talking with us and says 'why don't you just crawl through the window like I've done before? You wouldn't believe the kind of stuff the old people had!' UH WHAT?! Finally they get the door open and we are instantly hit with a smoke smell. I don't smoke and neither does my husband, neither of us can stand the smoke smell. I think the right thing of them to do was to tell us the previous renter was a smoker. So instead of getting that apartment for 550 a month we had to get one for 750. Don't get me wrong it's a nice apartment, but my husband is an A1C and all you military families know that struggle! After not being able to get electricity in the apartment for two days we move in to find out that our AC doesn't work. They fix it and take the filter with them, not sure why. I called about 4 times before getting another filter, I even looked around for the right filter size and no one in town had one! Then our dishwasher breaks and leaks everywhere. Repair man had no idea how to fix it. Eventually my husband figured it out. I tried to get direct tv. I was told we could have it BUT when they came out to install it the manager made it impossible for them to install it. You can't drill in the buildings, it can only be in a certain spot. The guy working for direct tv could not install it. So now I'm stuck paying 130 a month for Baja, the worlds worst cable. Our back windows have no screens. I have called who knows how many times now and have still not received anything. I was also told that none of the back windows have screens. Oh really? That's why when I walked around and saw the screens on back windows you had nothing to say, but uh huh? Our water heater is a joke. I've called twice and my husband has gone and talked to them about it and they had some guys come out and all they did was look at it. I get maybe 5-10 minutes of hot water. My family sent a care package from home. The delivery estimated date was two days after they delivered it. After two weeks went by I decided to call the office and see if they had anything or if they could tell me where packages went. They said they keep them i the front office and you can come pick them up. I asked if they give us notice when a box arrived and I was told no, that's FedEx's job and they will leave a note on the door. So I just asked if there happened to be a box in there for me and she said yes. I got pick it up and I was disgusted. My family sent jerky, which stays good for a LONG time, and it had gone bad sitting in the office. Did I get a notice from the company that delivered it? No. And I certainly did not get one from the office. There's no washer dryer hook up in my apartment but there is a small laundry mat in the office building. 1.50 for washing 1.25 for drying. And the dryers are horrible. So you have to dry your clothes twice. I just called to let them know we would be going on vacation and would not be back until after the 1st of January (when rent is due) and asked her what we could do about it. My options? Leave a check with them or pay the late fee when I come back. I'm sorry but no. The way we have bills set up for our monthly budget is so we can pay rent, phone, groceries on the 1st. That's already over 900 and we still need gas and money for savings. Then on the 15th (next payday) we pay cable, insurance, renters insurance and electricity and more groceries. And this time around we are paying extra to go on vacation and they expect me to fork over an extra 750? Where's the customer service? I don't feel comfortable leaving that big of a check with the people in the office and I sure as hell can't afford to pay it early! All in all I am so unhappy with living here. I wish we didn't sign a year lease so we could get out of here sooner. I would look everywhere and anywhere else before moving here.

This apartment complex is not that great. When my husband and I moved into the complex, we begun…read morehaving problems with the dishwasher. We called the maintenance man, and when he showed up it looked like even he didn't know what he was doing. After two more returns, on the third visit they finally brought us a new dishwasher. A couple months after having it, it begun to do the same thing so we just kept hand washing our dishes afterwards. Upon moving out, the property owners did their routine check up. Not only were they total a--holes during the process, they informed us they would have to hire a cleaning lady to clean it up. Not only was I pissed because I spent the entire previous day cleaning, I found out from my friends that they hire a cleaning lady for every move out, so what is the point of cleaning up my apartment? So people, if you move here don't bother to clean your apartment afterwards because they will just hire a lady to do it anyways, and charge you 100$ out of your deposit. The worst part of it all was that they told us we would owe them money because our security deposit was X amount of dollars, and we had to replace the entire carpet and some of the screens (which I will take responsibility for because we raised a puppy and what do puppies do? go to the bathroom in the house) and the obvious cleaning lady. But what I was confused about was where did my pet deposit go? When I brought it up, the lady rudely responded "The pet deposit is non-refundable." No shit, lady. I responded by saying, "Well, it obviously isn't my husband and I that stained the carpet so shouldn't the pet deposit cover that?" Their demeanor instantly changed and they said "Oh! We forgot about that, well yes you're right. The pet deposit can cover the carpet and then the security deposit will cover the remaining charges." Well, how f*cking convenient is that. If I never said anything, I would have had to pay them an extra 100$! Maybe they actually did forget, which makes them shitty landlords or they're just crooks. Other miscellaneous things they did were annoying/rude, such as drilling holes in the apartment below mine at 7:30 in the morning (my husband works overnights sometimes), yelling at you if your dog peed in certain spots (like I can control where my dog decides to pee), and no, they are not pet-friendly. Don't rent from them!
