First night in Kaj after two weeks in Istanbul, turkey. I'll spare you the review of 'food in general' in turkey. In any case, when we saw 'pizza' I thought who can screw up pizza. The pizza was decent. Crust was good, sauce fresh, but toppings all resonated with a Turkish origin(although we ordered generic toppings). Sort of defeated the reason for getting pizza although in all fairness....I'm in TURKEY. The pizza was not the reason for the poor score though, it was the service specifically the drinks. We ordered vodka soda and specified not soda pop but mineral water....what we got was a bottle of mineral water and a glass of ice(bonus on the ice cause it's a rare find in turkey). When we asked for vodka the server nodded, walked away and did not return. When our food arrived, we asked the server(different fella) for vodka. He asked me to point to it on the menu. Plain vodka did not exist on the menu only vodka which they added flavored syrup to. Which is what he brought. I felt confident that We had agreed, no syrup. My loss. We went on to find great food in Kaj. Try zaika! Hard to get a table...enough said! read more
