My husband got his hand in a buzz saw last Sept. and this group was recommended to us by the hand specialist that did the surgery on my husbands hand. Because of their care and knowledge my husband has 95% use of his hand and fingers. Marcus build all the splints that husband needed. He gave him exercises to do at home and told us what we could expect and always recommended that we call if we had any questions or problems. It was always a joy and fun to go there. They work on young and old a like. The little ones were always given coloring activities to do while they was being worked on. When he was released in Jan. he had 35% strength in that hand. Because of him continuing the use of the exercises that they recommended and from the construction jobs that he does his strength is now up to 80%. I would recommend anyone that has hand, arm or shoulder problems to make this their first stop. We was really impressed by what we saw and of course what my husband experienced. We just went back to get my husbands hand strength measured and they told us to come back anytime just to visit. They are wonderful and fun people. I did not have to go to a surgery center for this simple procedure to correct a trigger finger. The only drawback to Nebraska Hand & Shoulder Institute, in my opinion, is that the Doctor does not accept Medicare as a form of payment. He did, however, allow me to make payments for the procedure. We was told we had the best hand surgeon found anywhere in the nation right in the next town to us. What a relief that was. When we got to the hospital he operates in he introduced himself and made us laugh because he pronounced his name has Dr. It Hurts. Of course it was on a Saturday and the surgical teams were off and of course there were 2 other emergencies ahead of us, but Doc stood his ground and finally was able to get a surgical team and emergency room open for our needs. He did the surgery and was able to replace the tendons back to their rightful place in the fingers, that had been pulled out, and do the other necessary repairs. While I was in the waiting room a woman visited with me that was there about another patient and when she heard our story she shared with me how we had the best Dr. and what he had done for her and she had complete use of her hands because of the surgery he did for her and no scarring. He has great bed side matter and answers all of your questions. He has a great staff that was very helpful and a nurse that removed all 100 plus stitches at the time of removal. He took pictures also to put up on his website. My husband has very little scaring from his surgery. He spent all the time talking to us and answering our questions as was needed.
