Had Dr Cotty do a crown on one of my molars, at the time I thought he did a satisfactory job, however 5 years later the crown fell off. Now I have heard of crowns coming loose before and thought no big deal I am sure he will gladly glue it back on. I have one other crown on the molar directly above the one that came off and it has been there for 25 years no problem and has been subjected to everything and more than his 5 year crown. Made an appointment and went in only to subjected to a bunch of needless paperwork then I was informed that I would have to pay $125.00 for an exam and X ray before he would even look at my tooth to give me a price to repair his shoddy work. I have been a business man for 50 years and anytime one my customers have had a problem with my work I have taken care of them no questions asked. That's how you run an ethical business. A visit to the dentist has NEVER been on my list of favorite activities. However, I have always gone, viewing my appointment as a necessary evil. Several years ago my dentist retired and sold his practice to a national dental chain. With that came a new dentist at each visit and a constant push to update fillings and replace bridges. I felt I was a number to them and just wasn't happy. After searching the internet and making several calls, I made arrangements for a consultation with Dentistry 2000. I will be forever thankful for that day. The moment I entered the office, I felt comfortable! After meeting Mary, Rosa,Susan, and Dr.Cotty, I knew I had made the right choice. Dr. Cotty assessed my dental status, created a plan that was both conservative and beneficial for me, and took his time to address my concerns and calm my fears. Over the last year, I have received reassurance as I have completed routine visits and several procedures. I have also, with Dr.Cotty's help, avoided unnecessary an costly treatments. I no longer dread the dentist office and I feel I have been blessed with new friends. Dr. Cotty's calm, reassuring voice and the caring, compassionate atmosphere of his practice have made such a difference for me. Recently had a dental emergency, was in alot of pain. Dr Cotty was very gentle and gave me options. I opted for extraction and before I knew it, the tooth was out. Office staff was very kind. I went to dr Coty to get two dental implants which cost me $8.000!! I was so very excited to get rid of my partial and have "real" teeth there. I made the drastic mistake of not getting referrals for others who had dental implants by him --- big, huge mistake! And, of course, he wouldn't have had referrals because he doesn't have the expertise to do dental implants!! He made the two implants (#28 & #29) much lower than my top teeth. So when I smile I look like I have no teeth and it's embarrassing. I asked him why they were so low and he replied that's the best he could do. I went to my regular dentist and showed him the implants. He met with a dental surgeon and they deduced that it would cost $2,000 to replace the implants to make them the same height as my other teeth (and this consultation cost me $350.00). My regular dentist said that Coty did not have the expertise to do dental implants. Went back to Dr Coty (and he actually charged me $57), and he said he would not reimburse me the $2,000 to fix the shoddy work that he did. I was so disappointed because if you make a mistake, you should fix it to make the client happy and be a decent human being. He wouldn't even fix his mistakes which is unforgiveable!! Then I called again because I was distraught because $8,000 is a lot of money, and spoke with Rosa. Dr Coty told her to tell me that the reason the two dental implants were so low was because I had an over bite! Give me a break, because if I did have an overbite, it would mean my upper teeth would be 2 inches long!!!! I knew I didn't have an overbite so I called my regular dentist who said that I DID NOT have an overbite. I cannot afford to have Coty's (he shouldn't be called a dentist) shoddy work fixed, so I'm left with two dental implants that look like baby teeth. Buyer beware if you want to get dental implants from this shyster, please DONT because it will be like throwing your money down the toilet. He should have stood behind his professionalism and apparently no expertise in putting in dental implants. He refused to fix them and, at this point, I would be afraid of retaliation on his part. I am a compassionate individual with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and I regret ever going to him for dental implants that cost me $8.000!!! Shame, shame on him. Since I've expressed my displeasure with this shyster to friends, several of them have told me that they had a negative experience with him too!!! BUYER BEWARE and please get references. I should have known better because I'm very educated. And I shouldn't have gotten stuck with paying $8K for shoddy dental work. I forgot to add that I am a Vietnam Vet, Disabled, and a senior citizen and he took advantage of me!!!! I don't have $8000 to throw in the trash. He should be ashamed of himself!! read more

This dentist appeared to me to be poorly trained himself and passes that lack of ability along to most of his staff. I took a chance on this guy without knowing anything about him other than he could take me the next day (I should have been able to read between the lines right here). The girl taking the X-rays had just started that morning (hint number 2 that I had perhaps been too hasty in trying to get good quality care from this guy). She was brutal and untrained. I asked for another girl to take over for her and was instantly accommodated. OK, everybody starts somewhere, but I was very precise in telling the dentist and his staff where I hurt, how long it had presented, and that I wanted to keep (read salvage) my present multi thousands dollars gold crowns. He said no problem. He then proceeded to try to deaden the affected area, waited only a couple of minutes, then proceeded to drill through the top of my solid gold crown, not removing the crown as I had indicated and he had agreed to. He was clumsy, ham-fisted, and brutal. But, that's just my assessment of his ability as was presented to me on this visit. I must admit that I was so worried about his brutal technique that I did not even flash to the fact that the crown had not been removed first. My bad! After 5 or 6 shots of nerve deadener (whatever the agent, it did not work, especially since he only gave it a minute or two to work) he had me squirming and squealing in that chair for another half and hour and kept saying things like, "hmmm, that shot did not seem to work. Oh well, we're almost done". Moral of the story, stay away from this fellow, he will hurt you! read more
