We went for breakfast Sunday and the service was completely unacceptable. After being seated, it took 15 minutes for our waitress to take our drink order and another 30 minutes to receive our drinks and place our food order. We waited over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, it was cold. The brisket melt was burnt so badly it was inedible. My sourdough toast appeared cross-contaminated, as something green had clearly been cut before it. One of our meals never came out at all. We spoke to the waitress and a manager. The brisket was replaced, but we never received the glass of water we asked for. When we told them we did not want the missing meal anymore, we were told a 15% discount "covered" the meal we never received instead of simply removing it from the bill. This was poor service and unacceptable handling of the situation. We will not be returning. read more

LOVE DENNY'S. The Sunnyside one is closer to our home, but the parking lot there is ridiculous and not going to try it again. I understand most restaurants are understaffed and it is a hard tome for the service industry so I did take that into consideration. We went for breakfast on Sunday. We were seated within 15 minutes. When we get seated, we were the first ones to be seated in the area. We decided what we wanted to order. More than 15 mins go by, and nobody has come to the table, to bring water or say that "they would be with us soon" or anything. We see more people being seated after us in other areas of the rest and they get served and their orders taken. So I flag down a waitress and let her know that we are ready to order. She says she'll find our waitress. Still 5 more mins go by before the waitress comes. We ordered am omelette, a sandwich and a chicken and gravy something. After 5 mins she comes back saying they were out of the tenders. This is not her fault, but I feel they should figure out a way of letting the servers know the out of stock items. Anyways, we decided to order something else so that meant having to wait longer as the new order was put in place. That last dish, the eggs were ordered sunny side and they came out as scrambled. We ate them like that ad sending it back wouldve taken forever. The rest of the meals were fine. We were at the dennys for close to 2 hours for a simple party of 3. Ok first off if could give minus stars this place would get -5. Tbis was the worst experience I have ever had at Dennys. The waitress was very unfriendly. Not a hello or anything. She took our drink orders and wr asked for ice water and she brought waters with no ice. I had to ask for some ice. She took our order and I ordered the Cobb salad with prime rib. Half the lettuce in the salad was brown and rotten. I couldn't eat it. I ate the eggs, tomatoes, steak, and the cheese but left the lettuce. She dropped off our food then just walked away. Didn't ask if we needed any drink refill or anything else. My grandson spilled his drink and we had to use the napkins to clean it up nobody even offered to help with that I had to get paper towels from their cleaning table. I will never eat at this Dennys again. The aaitressneeds to not show her disdain for white people so much. Service was bad! They were out of everything. Couldn't get the senior discount cause they didn't have any salmon for the senior dinner and the manager had just left that could have done that. No tarter sauce for our onion rings, no Swiss cheese for my sandwich. The first waitress never came back and the second waitress with the "Yellow" shirt was more interested in standing around and gabbing with the customers. At one point she grabbed a chair and sat down to chat with 3 ladies. Never got a refill on our drinks. She came once to ask if we needed anything else when we were ready to leave after sitting there for 45 minutes. Never brought the check, had to go to the register.I had the pot roast big dip and the meat had no flavor. My wife had the bourbon chicken dinner with veggies. There were hardly any broccoli in it and mostly potatoes. The 2 tiny chicken breasts were thin. The meal was mostly potatoes. My wife loves her vegetables and was disappointed when it had 4 small sprigs of broccoli and one piece of onion and one piece of green pepper. They didn't get a tip and we won't be going back. Customer service needs to improve. The waitress came to every table but us and the guy behind us. Less chit chatting and more work would be an slight improvement. My meal was cheaper than my wife's and hers was mostly potatoes. Very disappointed. read more

I expected them to take longer before they went down hill. Service was extremely slow and the food is typical Dennys. Mediocre at best and over priced. All the servers spent more time standing around chatting with each other than taking care of customers. The only thing that will help them is there are very few other places to go in Sunnyside. Horrific experience they should really do some huge changes at this location went there last night first of all the waitress didn't know what a super slam was and didn't know any of the menu. We ordered they had 2 of our four plates wrong.... brought out our eggs and meat 10 min before pancakes, my daughters eggs had hair in them. Finally got our pancakes and they were so burnt on the bottom and tasted burnt we didn't eat them. The cook had rap music in the back playing music so loud that I could clearly hear the N-word the F-word and the C- word very clearly and had to have unwanted conversations on the way home explaining those words to my young son and why they are inappropriate. We didn't take but a few bites of food and decided to leave. I went up to pay and told the cashier and showed her my pancakes and she said OMG those are pretty dark and gave me a 30 percent discount but that doesn't make things better. This was the second chance we gave to Denise the first we were upset about the food. Last night we were seated among the counter near the kitchen door. He came in and asked if we were ready to order or if we wanted anything to drink my husband ordered a milkshake and I ordered a diet Pepsi, when he brought the drinks I took a sip and realized it was a Coke I could not get his attention, so I went to the counter and told him that this was Coke not Pepsi. He did not realize there was a difference, it's a Coke yes, no I wanted Pepsi, yes he pointed and said it's a Coke OK I want water instead. So we sat there waiting to place our order, while sitting we had seen our food put up on the counter ready to be served, it sat there for like 5 to 8 minutes it was cold when it came to us we were already upset, we didn't get our toast, and our waiter completely ignored us. A different waitress picked up the toast, then sat it back on the food counter. I stopped her and said we didn't get our toast, she asked me what kind? I was irritated and said toasted bread, what kind? Then she asked. Wheat. Or white. She then went and got the toast sitting there and set it down and walked away. 1. The toast was burnt, 2. A pat of butter placed between the burnt toast wasn't melted. At this time I was fed up. My husband and I went to pay so we went up to and I could not believe it was over $40 the price we never did see the prices on the menu but for a steak listed at 17.85 on their website I had bacon and eggs that's it doesn't even add up to $40 so we are quite upset and we won't go back.
