I don't even like staying in our pop-up because it means we have to be near other people, so I usually prefer tent camping for solitude. Holy wow! This place is actually quiet at 10:00pm, 99% of the guests were delightful, the owners and employees went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful, and we even participated in their Christmas in July festivities which included a potluck dinner and decorating contest. I will always remember this place and recommend it to anyone passing through or staying at the Ozarks. Love love LOVED it!!! (Part of me wants to give it a bad rating just to keep it a secret hidden gem because great reviews make places more popular and then all the crazies want to visit ;) But as Dolores Umbridge says, I must not tell lies) They're beyond professional, do a downright warm and friendly job of creating a magical place. When we checked in we were left on own to find the best way into site, was told you can go 1 of 2 ways ; neither one worked. We went all the way around park just to pull through. On the upside, they have working cable and wifi. Each site has a newer looking picnic table. There is a doggy designated area. The water system is lacking, (see photo)however I understand it gets cold here, but somehow I think there is much room for improvement. The only bright spot is the pool , but after noon on Friday it is overtaken by the permanent sites owners and the kids are ran out or feel like they can't have fun while in it. Being a class A RV'er we are always looking for nice places to stay. Although we live here and would not be staying there, we run into people on our travels who want to visit the lake and need space for a big rig. The ad leads you to believe it is like a 5 star rv resort. Upon arriving there is no office, and only 1 row of campsites, the sites are all paved but unlevel. There literally is no where to turn around for a big rig. The place is totally undeveloped, they have a long way to go. Maybe in a few years if they finish it, it might be alright. As for now I do not recommend it. They should not have an ad in a magazine until the place is finished.

First thing we noticed was the quality of construction. The facilities were all just about brand new and done with very good taste. The owners put a lot of time and effort in to keeping the place up and were prompt to attend to any of our requests. There were kayaks and other water sporting activities available. The pool and hot tub were super clean and well kept and they had cornhole and giant Jenga in the pool house. There is a beautiful view of the Lake from the pool. What was also nice is that there is a grocery store just a few minutes down the road. The sites themselves had full hookups, a fire pit and a picnic table. The only downside I have to give is that there was no shade at the site itself. Having a pop up camper, this was an issue in 95 degree heat. Would recommend planting some trees :) Other than that, I would very much recommend this location for a little time by the Lake!

We are coming up on our third year of staying at Kon Tiki Resort for our family vacation. After…read moregrowing up staying at Cedar Green Resort, I remembered with fondness all the good times we had hanging out at The Lake and wanted to share that with my wife and young kids. We have stayed at Kon Tiki Resort two of the last four years and have stayed in the same cabin both times. The cabins are small but cozy and well kept. In fact, our cabin was renovated in between our first and second stay. New floors and complete bathroom remodel. Cabin has a kitchen and table for four which is great for my wife and I and two young girls. It's a full kitchen with fridge, stove, sink, microwave and several cabinets stocked with all the dishes and utensils needed for a weeks vacation. Cabin also has three small bedrooms, not much bigger than the beds. Tight, but really, we are there to be out in The Lake and be out running around. Cabin also has a charcoal grill which we used several times. Our cabin had a shaded deck that wrapped around one corner of the cabin offering a great view of the lake. Resort has all the facilities you need for a week of fun in the water. Laundry, boat rental, sand swimming beach, two docks with slips, ice on site. We rented a fishing boat just to give our oldest a ride on the lake and not so much for fishing. Rental was moderately priced and well maintained. Since the resort is on "the quiet side" of The Lake, we had a nice leisurely ride. There is also a nice patio area with several tables and lots of lounge chairs, great for keeping an eye on the girls while they are swimming or relaxing and watching the evening fade away. Kon Tiki is located on EE along with a lot of other family resorts. EE is close to a full service grocery store and there is a gas station nearby, both located at the corner of highway 7 and 5. Kon Tiki is beautifully maintained and the owners are nice as can be, and available if needed.
