The company refused to take responsibility, despite their employee handling the TV. After the move, we also discovered additional damage, including a broken office desk drawer and damage to a closet storage unit. I was hoping the company would stand behind their service and work with us to resolve the issues, but that did not happen. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Anber Moving. I encourage others to be cautious and make sure their belongings are properly protected and documented before using their services.

We've always been a fan of supporting small businesses and going with the little guy when we have…read morethe option. So recently, we hired these guys to help us move since they seemed witty and pretty genuine. What a mistake! Bottom line: they were not careful with our things and caused hundreds of dollars in damage. We discovered quite a few damaged boxed but the coup de resistance was a smashed 40" television. When we called to point this out they said "too bad" and that it's all part of the risk of hiring movers! When we tried to argue with them they had the audacity to suggest that we smashed our TV before the move and planned to frame the movers for damage all along! As a final word of warning against us, they said that if we try to take them to small claims court it would be their word versus ours and there are more of them than us so good luck! When we dug a little deeper, it became clear that these guys are neither a legitimate business nor are they insured - which means when they damage something, they wash their hands and walk! Plus, we noticed that in the fine print of their contract they claim that they are not responsible for damages - in particular televisions, which suggests that they have a track record of breaking electronics. If you value your things, don't hire these guys. Get some reputable movers.

They gave me a quote, and we agreed that my belongings would arrive within 4 days. However, they were 3 days late. Each day that passed, I became more concerned, and I had to pay for another hotel night, which in Toronto was around $200 + tax per night for the cheapest option. Every time I called after the agreed-upon delivery date, they gave me an excuse. First, they apologized because the truck had broken down, then they didn't call when they said they would. I became increasingly worried about my belongings. After an additional 3 days of waiting, my things finally arrived. However, before unloading everything, they charged me double the amount that was initially agreed upon. I was almost in tears from the shock. When I asked to speak to someone, the person I spoke to wasn't Jack, but a rude guy with an Indian accent, who arrogantly told me that there was an overweight charge I had to pay if I wanted to see my belongings again. When I questioned why I had to pay double the agreed amount, he told me it wasn't his problem and that he would place my things in storage, charging me daily fees until I paid. That's when I realized it was a scam, and they had my belongings on their truck, holding them hostage to defraud me. I paid, feeling terrible, and later I discovered that there is an association of certified movers, which specifically talks about these kinds of scams and illegal actions. What this company did is described as illegal by the association. Please, this happened two years ago--do not trust this company.

My move was from Toronto to NYC and here are the pros/cons of my move to make this simple: PROS: -Truck arrived the day it was scheduled for pickup -Movers were courteous and professional -No hidden charges. My quote was adjusted for additional wait which amount to a difference of only $100 or so -Delivery was early and once again the movers were courteous -Much cheaper than other quoted services CONS: -Communication was limited which resulted in some nerves. The Account Manager always picked up his phone or responded to texts -Pickup was a few hours later than scheduled. While I wanted to be upset with the movers, these sorts of things often happen due to logistics (more moves scheduled in a day that are actually possible)

ABF made an empty semi trailer available to me within 72 hours of my commitment, and then even allowed me to delay the delivery of the trailer within 24h before the delivery. They also allowed me ample time to load and then to simply call them hours before the cab came to pick up the trailer. Note that our driveway in Montreal was able to accommodate the 28ft trailer. In DC I needed to buy a $55 temporary parking permit for street parking. Although my goods arrived at the ABF warehouse in Maryland within two days, ABF held the trailer for another five days until I was ready to receive them.
