It feels so good to have timed the interest rate market right! It is so difficult to do that and I…read morecan honestly say that we did it thanks to Chris Matsuoka from Catalyst Mortgage. We brought our dream home in December 2023 at a great price but not so great rate. In September 2024 our mortgage company offered us to refinance with zero lender fees so we felt it was a great deal to go from 7.375% to 6.5%. We were pretty far into the process when my husband received a text from Catalyst Mortgage offering us a rate in the high 4% which we knew was too good to be true but decided to call. After having a quick conversation with Chris, he offered us a more realistic offer which was 5.875% with zero points, some reasonable lender fees. We decided it was still worth it to save more money on our monthly payment. Chris was very responsive and made the whole experience seamless. He locked our rate one day after the fed rate cut. Mortgage rates actually went up instead of down and he honored his initial offer of 5.875%. He took care of us even during some hiccups with closing and tax bills from the previous owner that increased our closing costs. Chris talked to the right people at the title company and in the end, we didn't have to pay the previous owners bills and also gave me guidance on how to go about getting that issue resolved. We closed in record time. 7 business days after our application was submitted and we just made our first payment. It feels great to see that we made the right choice in switching lenders as the rates have continued to increase and we are so happy we got to save $360 on our mortgage payment. That is such a blessing now days!! I will definitely work with Chris and Catalyst Mortgage in the future!

From day one, Jeff worked tirelessly to make our dream of homeownership happen. He stayed in constant communication, kept us updated every step of the way, and always made time to answer our questions. When we didn't understand something, he never rushed us. He patiently explained everything until we did. There were plenty of moments when things felt stressful, but Jeff stayed calm, positive, and determined. His knowledge, professionalism, and genuine care gave us confidence throughout the entire process. He didn't treat us like another file on his desk. He treated us like family. In fact, my kids know him as "Uncle Jeff," and that says everything about the kind of person he is. Jeff didn't simply help us get a loan. He helped our family achieve the dream of owning our home. We will never forget everything he did for us. Extremely Disappointing Experience -- I Would Not Recommend Jaime…read moreI recently sold my house on July 29, 2026, and my experience with Jaime Avilez and his daughter Leah Avilez our realtor was extremely disappointing. We initially chose Jaime because he had previously sold us the property, so we trusted that he would handle the sale professionally and keep us informed. Unfortunately, that trust was misplaced. Throughout the sale, communication was a major issue. Jaime and his daughter frequently failed to keep us updated, and there were instances where they visited the property without notifying us. We were not consistently informed about showings, feedback, or important developments. I was also left out of emails and communications regarding my own property. This made it very difficult to know what was actually happening. When our original contract expired, I brought in another realtor I trusted to help oversee the paperwork. My realtor questioned Jaime about why I had repeatedly been excluded from communications. Jaime stated that he had lost my contact information and therefore could not contact me. I found that explanation unacceptable, particularly given the importance of the transaction. Another serious issue occurred when Jaime prepared a new contract that stated the entire commission would be paid from my portion of the proceeds. Fortunately, my realtor caught the issue and made sure the proceeds and commission were properly addressed. My realtor also repeatedly struggled to get information from Jaime. He did not consistently keep her informed about updates or concerns involving the property. He preferred communicating by phone rather than email, which made it difficult to maintain clear documentation of important conversations. Eventually, my realtor became frustrated enough to escalate the matter to Jaime's management. We were in escrow from May 2026 until the property finally sold on July 29, 2026. During that period, Jaime repeatedly told us the property would close by the end of the month. When those deadlines approached, extensions followed. Then we received another assurance that the sale would close, followed by another extension. From our perspective, the repeated delays and promises were extremely frustrating and left us questioning what was actually happening with the buyers and the transaction. After the sale finally closed, Jaime sent us an email apologizing for failing to keep us properly informed and updated and stated that he had learned a valuable lesson. While I acknowledge the apology, it came after months of poor communication and unnecessary frustration. Selling a home is a major financial transaction, and clients deserve transparency, communication, accountability, and professionalism from the person representing them. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Jaime. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Jaime as a realtor. I strongly encourage anyone considering working with him to carefully evaluate their options and make sure they choose a realtor who will consistently communicate, document important matters, and keep them fully informed throughout the entire process.
