Why isn't this place famous already? Besides the location issue, (located on 2nd floor with a poor little girl calling out 'Indonesian food' on the street level), there is hardly any flaws I can pick on this gorgeous restaurant.
So, once you were lucky enough to spot this place, and reach the end of the stairs, you would find a classy looking restaurant with an indoor pond that truly gets you feeling 'Screwed! - this place must be expensive!'. (And not to mention how much the classical symphonic music on the background would only intensify the nerve).
BUT Being an informed yelper, I hope you won't make a silly mistake to walk out.
With probably one of the most friendly waiters you would ever get for the Chinatown, you would be served to a table (with privacy compartments. Classy.) and as you open up the menu book and check the price, you would be glad to did not turn around earlier - So, long story short; Yes, this place is affordable.
Now, you got one question solved, I guess the next doubt must be on the 'taste'.
Well, since I have a limited stomach space, I am yet to have tasted all the dishes this place got on their menu board, but please do let me tell you this.
I think I have tasted enough Satay before, but the satay beef from this place? Gee, it beats them all. Sure the peanut sauce alone might be sweeter than what I wish, but as a combination with freshly grilled beef sticks? I tasted my heaven there.
Nasi Goreng (Fried rice) is also not to be missed, and hey! there would be some free prawn chips along the way too!
I have only visited this place twice (and unfortunately can not recall what I ordered on my first visit) but it is already on my favourite list.
Only downfall? (Well this doesn't really bother me - I rather enjoy it - but may bother some more sensitive people)
This place is located on the same level as the monorail track so there might be some tourists in the train looking over your table in about 5 minutes frequency, but no biggie, the monorail is one way only and it would take them a good 30 min (only if they wish) to be back to the same spot again. So eat as ugly as you wish. You won't face those tourists again. I hope.
Anyway to conclude, a good place worth a check out, just yet to be discovered. read more
