We used to love Delicious Heights, but it's gone way downhill. We just went back tonight after staying away for almost a year, and nothing's changed, except for the prices increasing for more inferior food. We sat at a table in the renovated bar, because there was a long wait at the restaurant, Nd what a mistake that was. We were virtually ignored the entire meal, from not having our order taken for about a half hour, to not asking if we wanted our drinks refilled or if our food was satisfactory, and being presented with the check without ever asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. The food was decent, but it used to be above average. The prices have gotten insane for a place like this. Want a side of asparagus? It will cost you $12.00 now!! What a joke...this isn't an upscale steakhouse...it's about the equivalent of a decent diner. I hope this place gets it's stuff together soon, or it will be closing it's doors eventually. I came here with a friend on a Saturday night and fell in love with this place! I ordered a glass of Riesling to start, which was nice and chilled, very refreshing. For appetizers, my friend and I ordered the Salt Baked German Pretzels as well as the Thai Lettuce Wraps. Both were very tasty. The Salt Baked Pretzels came with two different kinds of dipping sauces and the Thai Lettuce Wraps came with different kinds of vegetables to put into the wrap. The appetizers were very filling, so I was initially afraid I was not going to be able to eat my dinner, but I ended up not having an issue! For my main course, I ordered the Guacamole Burger that came with cheddar cheese. The burger was cooked perfectly and it came with everything on the side. I ordered sweet potato fries with my burger, which were very tasty and even had what tasted like a sprinkle of cinnamon on them, which was a nice surprise. I was very impressed by the freshness of the guacamole on my burger, it went so well with the flavors in the burger and I just couldn't get enough! For dessert, my friend and I ordered the Belgian Chocolate Fondue. We asked the server, Jessica (who was excellent) to bring us a little bit more chocolate for dipping, and she did so right away. The fondue dessert came with SO many options for dipping: pound cake, apples, strawberries, rice krispie treats, lady fingers, dried apricots and more! I was having so much fun dipping all the different delectables in the delicious chocolate. Delicious Heights is a great place to eat if you're looking for great American food that is WAY better than any of the chain restaurants around. After having been to the new Delicious Heights in Bedminster, I can say that I was quite disappointed by the experience here. A few of us went on a Sunday night to have some drinks, dessert/apps, and relax. Check for the first one, not so much for the latter two. We first were interested in getting one of the high tables by the bar to sit at, but since the AFC Championship was on, they were all full. Not complaining about that one bit. We then went to the hostess stand to ask for a table for the 3 of us to get drinks/desserts/apps, but were told that we could not get a table unless we ordered dinner. Mind you that this was at 8 at night, they had nobody waiting and there were plenty of open tables. We weren't there to watch any sports anyways so we didn't care that we weren't by the bar, all we wanted was some food and drinks. We then went back to the bar area and due to very few tables and not many seats we just stood around with our drinks. The drinks we had were good. I especially enjoyed the fact that they have Hitachino Nest White Ale (not only hard to find, but quite possibly one of the best witbiers around). We ordered a Long Island and that was extremely strong and tequila heavy, but for the most part the drinks were good. Since we weren't permitted to get a table we weren't able to taste some desserts and apps which is very disappointing. It makes no sense that we weren't allowed to get a table when there were tables open and there was nobody waiting for a table. Stopped by for lunch. Not too crowded. The chicken tender appetizer was lightly battered and a generous size. Tasted just like most chicken tenders, they were good. Nothing to write home about. I had the BBQ spare rib sandwich with french fries. The sandwich was very tasty because their sauce is awesome and the meat was tender. The reason I gave this place only 2 stars was because of the service. The waitress had no personality. We were her only table yet we practically had to beg to refills on our iced tea. When you can see the waitress talking to the hostess and your customers have no drinks, dirty dishes on the table and we have to ask for the check, you won't be seeing me again. We have eaten at DH for several years and in the past found it to be a good experience. No longer. We have eaten at DH the last two weekends and while the service is good, the food is simply terrible. Overlooked shrimp cocktail, undercooked chicken (actually red raw) in the cavatelli with broccoli and chicken. We spent quite a bit of money and most of us left most of the food on the plate. Only exception - the wings which are good. Get it together DH. It used to be packed on a Saturday night. Your problem is in the kitchen. read more

Went there last Saturday at 6:00pm with a party of 4. The hostess told us it would be 20-25 minutes for a table and we decided to wait. After 35 minutes I notice them seating a table of 5 who came in at least 20 minutes after us. When I inquired, I was told that the table they were seated at was for 5 and that it's their policy is to seat larger parties first on the largest tables. I could understand this on a table for 6-8 if I were only 2; but 4/5??? Regardless, the policy clearly COST them money in this instance as I left and will not eat there again. It amazes me how poor a mind for customer service some restauranteurs posses. FOLLOW-UP: The general manager of the restaurant reached out and informed me that they've since changed their door policy. I commend them on being responsive to their customer base and taking a real look at their practices when someone brings up an issue. read more

Went here two nights ago and was incredibly disappointed as I have been visiting Bedminster & BH locations for years. There was no wait which was great, we were quickly seated in a booth. 2 of us got the bacon burgers and 2 got Penne vodka. The house salads that came with the penne were okay (the balsamic rocked!) but 3 bites in and they were delivering our entrees. They kind of muttered sorry and they were piping hot so it was fine, we finished the salads. The burgers were just okay - the sweet potato fries tasted abnormally bland. The BIGGEST disappointment was the Penne Vodka. There was NO prosciutto in either dish (yet on the menu it says it's in there!) and a handful of peas. The sauce was disgusting - it tasted like someone poured Classico jarred sauce over it. Bland, it tasted like gross tomato soup just poured on top. We dumped salt and pepper on it trying to save it but, it did nothing. Neither of us finished it. I don't know what changed but the food is terrible now. We won't be back anytime soon. read more

My husband and I are BIG fans of Delicious Heights in Berkeley Heights! From the minute you walk in and are welcomed by the greeters, your experience begins. The managers, Eric 1 and Eric 2 always make a point to stop by and spend a few minutes. Our permanent server, Kricia, makes sure that everything is perfect. Many times we will order the market fish, which is always GREAT! This week it was halibut - fresh and flaky, with the most delicious mixed vegetable combination. Hats off to Luis for coming up that. Always ask for Faith to make your Cosmo and you will never be disappointed. They are the best..even in far more expensive restaurants. Faith knows what she is doing!!!! Went here with girlfriends on a Friday night for a holiday dinner. This place is VERY popular and gets very crowded. Reservations are a must on weekends. That being said, they have an awesome drink menu. We split Thai Lettuce Wraps and they were amazing. My meatloaf entree was also very good. Ive been here twice and the first time I went it was good. I basically loved the atmosphere, beer selection and appetizers. The second time, more recent we went for a dinner. This is where i had to write a review. A group of six made it out to dinner and 3 out of the 6 had an issue with their food. Just like the time before the appetizers were good, we had the nachos, wings and spinach dip. We also had some beer flights and beer is always cold! For dinner I believe one had a chicken sandwich which looked yummy and I can not remember what the other two had. The issue was with the three of us who ordered burgers. Two ordered medium well and one ordered hers medium. I consider myself very easy going and I hate to send food back in fear of what will happen to it but my burger could moo! It was drenched in red "juice" or blood to where the bottom part of my bun was soggy. I had to send it back, the other person who ordered medium well was even bloodier than mine but they switched their burger with the person who ordered the medium burger because even though it was medium it wasn't as red as this "medium well" burger. Now, I have to say the waitress apologized and did say it would be removed form the bill and warned me it would take a little bit for a new burger to come out and that wasn't a problem. Burger comes out quick actually and this time it is WELL, which is fine I can understand they were like "look make sure this burger isn't bloody.." so now I have a well done burger (not what I ordered) but the disturbing part is I'm putting my lettuce on and then go to put my tomato and it is MOLDY.. black mold and not just a speck but it was the size of a nickel. At this point everyone at the table is checking their tomatoes and I'm over it. I had stuffed the burger in a napkin and enjoyed my fries (those were actually good!) The part that irritated my husband is the waitress never came over to see if the 2nd burger was good or just checking in. Needless to say, I think it's still a good place for a nice setting and yummy appetizers and cold beer but not impressed with the food. This place used to be great. Couldn't go wrong. Now, it is absolutely disgusting. I usually go with a burger and not only is it very dry, today I found gum in the to go box! Steaks are always over cooked, wraps are always smothered in sauce, and fries are soggy. My go-to spot for date nights, nicer drinks out, dinner with friends, and anything pretty local. Love the new outdoor dining patio with fancy heaters and huge TVs everywhere. I've always received the best service - it is quick, friendly, and knowledgeable. I love the trendy crowd and the fact that this place can go from quiet date night to rowdy sports bar depending on the time or date. Their menu is huge and includes a little bit of everything. Prices are middle of the road - not cheap but not expensive for this part of the state and the food and drinks are absolutely worth it. Great beer selection. Nicely chilled martinis. It's a little loud for my liking in the evening, but it's a good place for a casual lunch. This restaurant does not take reservations under any circumstances - not even for large groups with many children. Not very patron friendly. Would hope that a restaurant would be a little more accommodating to groups - and to other people waiting for a table, because I'm sure they don't want to be surrounded by hordes of bored and antsy children. I frequent this place with a friend of mine (who happens to be a regular), usually after work and class...I don't know if it's the fact that I've had a long day and this is a refreshing change, or the friendly and attractive staff, or the variety on the both the menus (might I add, they are lighted menus)! Everything from the *Special* French Fizz made by Rookie (only because he uses extra special ingredients) to the simplicity of the Guacamole dip hits the spot! I've had several delicous appetizers: the perogies, and the rice balls, salads, etc. and quite a few dinners (full meals) here as well, and have not been disappointed! I'm a vegetarian, but never feel left out. I would probably opt for the Vegetarian wrap and Caprese Salad over the Grilled Vegetable Napolean, however. Taste-wise, I'd offer a high B, but presentation is a def A++. I'll post up some pictures so you know what I mean. I was there last week, will I be back? Hells yes. read more

This is a very popular restaurant. You may find parking a challenge. Food offerings are standard American. The portion is large and dishes are heavily seasoned, definitely quantity over quality. I cannot say the food was bad, but I could not tell you any good either except the size. Its food was so easily forgettable. Terrible service, overpriced, forgettable food. Our waitress rushed us through ordering but completely forgot to bring water to one of us and then forgot his drink order. While two of us asked for refills, no one ever was offered a refill or asked if they'd like more to drink. The apps we ordered didn't match the descriptions, and there were no suggestions for good shared apps for our larger group. (2 pretzels and 5 shrimp don't go far for a table of 7... There were more meatballs, though). And when they were done the waitress cleared two of the serving dishes and a third from the table next to us, leaving the other empty plate on our table. Entrees came out before the app plates had been cleared. The burger was okay but not worth $15. The crab cake salad was a bread cake with some crab on a bed of greens. There's not much worse than an all- filler crab cake. Two of us were still mid-meal when the waitress cleared the other plates without asking if folks were done (one of us lost the fries he was eating, and wanted.) Then dessert menus came out for the five finished eaters while two of us were still eating our entrees. Remember, not one refill offered... My plate finally cleared but we asked for a minute to look at dessert menus and waitress disappeared for twenty minutes. Don't ask for whipped cream on anything, because it's cool whip. One apple dessert came out with the cool whip knocked over and the dessert a complete mess. I am always happy to pay for well created food. Here the food is overpriced. The service was bad enough that I am writing this review, and I'm pretty sure all the Money is going into the pretty stone walls and building materials. I visited on a Saturday while in town for a wedding. I had 3 hours to kill between the wedding and the reception and I searched Yelp and was intrigued by the menu. My wife and I just wanted a light snack so we ordered some drinks and appetizers. We loved everything in the Poo Poo platterr and the sliders were amazing. The waitress was accommodating when we asked if we could have 2 of the 4 sliders medium rare and the other two medium well. We were surprised that almost every table had multiple kids so we put it on our lists of places to remember when we have our young kids in tow. We enjoyed the cocktails that we had and were intrigued by many of the others on the menu. We found the decor to and ambiance to be a bit confusing, but not enough to prevent me from going back. I think the restaurant was described as modern American but he decor was more like a classic steakhouse with wood everywhere. Mildly disappointing. Service was OK. The bartenders were more concerned with chatting so every time we needed something, we had to wave. Nobody ever just came over to see if we needed a drink or were ready to order. The food came out quick, but was mediocre. French onion soup was OK, and it was a nice big serving, so that was good. And I had a pasta dish that had chicken and shrimp. The pasta was very mushy, like it has been sitting around all day. When I rolled it on the fork, it would break apart. So I ate all the shrimp and got the rest doggy bagged, and specifically asked not not put the shrimp tails in the to-go box and they did anyway. Gotta say, I was pretty disappointed. I used to work in NP and we would go there all the time and it was always wonderful. No idea what the situation is now, if it's new owners or what. read more

Best Buffalo Wings I have ever had in my whole life! Hands down! I want the recipe for their special home made blue cheese so bad!
