There was a taping of a Magic Special, plenty of parking, we got in line, were told to go to a different line. I got nervous because we were the only ones in this line while everyone else was in another line. I really didn't want to get called on stage. While the line was piling up, 2-3 other people were behind us and that's it. Then there's the VIP line which was on the other side of the sidewalk. "We're going to end up in cages or something stupid, or way up front :-(" . Thoughts were going on in my head, "I'll get called up, the magician will talk into my deaf ear and I'll be an unintentional clown in front of millions."
Show time, we were directed first after the VIP people "oh God!" and to my relief ended away from the stage. The acts were good, there's a lot of post production I've worked for an IT integrator that focused on Hollywood post production, so I knew it wouldn't look like it does on TV.
That scary asian gal (Indonesia) that reminded me of my ex was on, she was on America's got talent. Not surprising she said nothing prior to the performance, it was good but as in preproduction we really couldn't see much unless you're up front, later they'll probably add the top down view. Her head shaked creepily, in a school girl outfit, mixed feelings about that.
The bird guy was the funniest, he's from Sweden, he's going to be a hit. Others on there as well, the creepy gal came on 3 times, one was a retape, but she was cool enough to change up the performance a bit.
Great time, but remember when you go to these tapings that there are wait times for lighting, cameras and direction. read more
