Looking for cheap dinner before going back home so we choose Del taco. Place was clean. Food served fast.

Brisket quesadillas

I'll start by saying the honey chipotle brisket quesadillas were extremely good for fast food. Certainly better than any of their other ones and better than any I've tried from Taco Bell. That being said, let's get down to business... We come to the Akers location several times a year. It's usually hit or miss, but this Sunday, October 1st was completely ridiculous. The cashier that rang us up has been working there for a while now. She's very tiny/petit and super nice and sweet, you just can't hear her. She talks super quiet. She is very pleasant and I hope she finds her customer service voice. The manager(s) I'm not sure what is going on and why there appears to be two at this location the last two times we've gone. Training? I dunno. One of them is smaller short stalky dark curly hair male and the other one is young, tall, thin, longer straight hair male. But neither one of them have hats or hair coverings on and the short one was preparing food. And not only that, I watched him also bare handed dig into his pocket, grab his phone. Start scrolling through his phone, show the tall skinny dude something on his phone, laugh about it and then put his bare handed phone back into his pocket, go to the freezer, pull food out, drop it in the fryer, grab some food paper then a taco shell and assemble the taco, adding meat, cheese, lettuce all bare handed with NO GLOVES on proceed to wrap the taco, put it in a bag, then go to the fryer to lift the food up and then go back to making food. With no gloves on. Ready to eat food items are ALWAYS supposed to be handled with gloves. And then, instead of grabbing a sani towel to clean his work surface off between orders, he grabbed a napkin off the counter and wiped the station off. Freakin gross dude. You're the manager. You should absolutely know better. And the tall skinny dude, kept his gloves in the entire time. Touching people's money, touching his phone, touching his face, touching the register, touching everything and touching the food. It wasn't even busy. It was like 11:30 in the morning and there was like 3 other tables.

Slowest service I've ever experienced at a Del Taco. Twelve minutes in drive through. It's a Saturday afternoon. Really? Ridiculous!

Super clean restaurant My family went here last night after getting back from Kings Canyon. My immediate reaction walking in was that the restaurant is super clean and the staff were very kind and attentive. Our server brought chips and salsa to the table for us right away. They have a nice selection of Jarritos drinks and great horchata which comes in a large portion. The food was AMAZING! I ordered a chicken burrito and my dad ordered their quesa birria. We split the two and both were great! My dad said it was the best burrito he's ever had. I loved it too. It was standard in ingredients but excellent in taste. The quesa birria was also great. It was crispy and had a great portion of tender meat inside. My mom ordered enchiladas which she liked! She noted they came with potatoes on top and the red sauce you think of with enchiladas was cooked into the tortilla. Though, they have red sauce as an addition on the menu for $1.99, so I'm sure they would be happy to add it if that's what you are looking for. The food was reasonably fast, very hot, and delicious. They bring out three sauces: a green creamy sauce, a deep red sauce, and a bright red sauce. The first two mentioned are spicy and I loved the green sauce! I didn't try the deep red sauce but my dad says he didn't think it was too hot. The neighborhood the restaurant is in is good. It is near a nice residential neighborhood and across from a liquor store and other restaurant. There were very nice cars parked throughout the area and we did not encounter any issues at all! It is populated as the restaurant seems to get many takeout and Doordash orders. I think you can consider yourself reasonably safe here! This place gets my recommendation! We are headed home today but if we weren't, we would be coming back to El San Marcos tonight!

I actually went in if they…read moredid crispy tacos, but ended up ordering a carnitas tostada so i could get my crunch on, but try them. I asked for a variety of sauces, they had four and it was all so good, i even poured the habenero on the very top, which normally is too hot but it was all soooooo good. beef was tasty and not to chewy, good quality, great amount, not alot but not skimpy either and it filled my craving 100%. and Ruben the man at the window was great and finished with I appreciate you............great service, good timing, great food. Get it?

I think out of anything i want to get out of this review is how hurt i am as customer. This isn't a…read morereview about food, it's about an incident that occurred this afternoon. I had a delivery driver who also happened to pick up my orders from here. We got to talking about other spots in town and I mentioned this place and he says, "ohhh you're THAT Frank". Automatically I'm like "uh oh" lol. Now before you start wondering "two sides to every story"; here's mine. I order a burrito combo with a large limonada. I ask for my burrito with just meat and rice, sometimes onions. I ask for it to be grilled. I asked for (2) to (3) serrano peppers on the side. Before they "disappeared" off of GrubHub, they had a button on their page for sauces. They don't charge for them on the app and don't have a quantity cap, so i usually ask for around (4) to (5) green and the same in habanero. The burritos are big and I'm a salsa kind of guy lol. If 10 sauces overall is too much, then that's fine. At least give me something lol. I've been given (0) or (1) at times. My burrito is 50/50 sometimes grilled, sometimes not "mostly not", they will forget my drinks from time to time. When i ask the driver, they say they weren't given a drink. My food has come cold, the meat has been chewy and fatty. I've had to get refunds on orders because of the quality. So I always ask the drivers to make sure my drinks are there and my sauces are in the bag. But here I've been, coming back cause i was genuinely a happy customer more times than not. Then to randomly hear from a delivery driver who's picked up your orders from here before, you've been talked "sh$t' about. So much that he even contemplated telling me "DONT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE". This is a place you've given business to on a regular basis! It's disheartening and it hurts. My last review was even a good one lol. Needless to say I'm not coming back. Pretty messed up too, cause i was happy to see them come to town since i first encountered them in Bakersfield. Oh well.. talk all the crap you want now, hope you read this. I know one customer ain't no love lost. But now everyone will know how they're being treated behind their backs. Better places in town to find.

I am from Southern California and I mention this to say that I wish they were located closer to me…read more. I found them because they were close to my air bnb and had a good rating and I see why. Everything was good. For dinner I had the carne asada burrito it was one of the best burritos I've ever had. Everything was so fresh and the carne was flavorful not big and lined with fat like most places serve. My family got a quesadilla plate, enchilada plate, and a quesabirria. The service was amazing the girl at the window was so friendly and answered all questions. It is outdoor seating but when it's cold they have the heat lamps so you will not be cold. I absolutely loved the green salsa with avocado chunks in it. Everything is 10/10 I went back the next morning for breakfast with my family and I had the carne asada sopes. Others in my family had the birria (that came in a bowl), Gordita, menudo, quesabirria, and wonderful drinks. In case you are a review person and reviews help to make your decision my review still does not do this place justice. If you get lost like I did because I am not from the area and my gps was probably off just call them and she will give you information like she did me. Also other reviews mentioned not having their food. I checked my bag before I left because I knew I was hungry and it took me all of 15 seconds. P.S. I devoured my food so fast I didn't even think to take pictures, but again you will not be disappointed!

For 1 burrito and 1 taco with tip, came out to around $33. Don't do delivery from here. The Burrito was not very good. The meat was almost like ground beef in texture but also non existent at the same time. I tasted more beans than rice but even then, it was more of a soupy burrito with a tortilla that you had to rip at and hope each bite wouldn't undo the whole burrito. There was some kind of salsa inside it that wasn't apart of the description. It gave it an off flavor. Al Pastor taco was meh. The corn tortillas tasted homemade, which was nice. But the meat was stringy, kind of fatty and an off color almost a light orange. It tasted better than the asada but still wasn't very good. I do appreciate they followed my request for extra salsa, but these packs look like they come from a frozen dinner you get at the store. Absolutely off putting. The flavor was "ok" but nothing special. Overall, not worth it. $33 and I was left with an upset stomach. I had such high hopes! I haven't been in a long time and was hoping it would have been an amazing experience. I was wrong. I gave 3 stars cause I do appreciate them following the special instructions most other restaurants don't. But that still can't justify the food.

Like another customer stated that it had a funky odor and it was covered with bleach smell was true on my first visit and after talking with the owner of the restaurant, the menu sounded like it was worth coming back. I came back a second time and the owner recognized me and greeted me and directed us towards our table. There was no odor this time and it is an older establishment that actually was a house at one time. If you sit in the back area you can still see the crown moldings of the living area. We ordered the Marlin Empanadas- there is 4 to an order ($12). I wish I cut one so that you can see in the picture that it definitely is Marlin. Marlin is red flesh and I've fished in Cabo San Lucas and caught marlin and it's not the best flavored fish as it is dense and very oily. This definitely tasted like I remembered the last time I caught a marlin! Still this was good as I don't see marlin on the menu much so I usually order shrimp empanadas. We ordered Cooked Seafood Molcajete- Shrimp, octopus, crab, fish, and mussels. It came out boiling hot and I'm going to post video of the clay pot so you can see that it comes out hot from the kitchen!! Ordered a side of whole beans and homemade corn tortillas. I did exactly as instructed, and they did respond after reviewing picture and said they would issue refund... but despite following up multiple times, no one ever processed my refund or even responded. Considering how expensive the food is here (plus added service fees), it's really disappointing to be treated with such unprofessionalism. All I expected was accountability and a resolution for an order that was clearly incomplete. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and customer care has left a very negative impression, and I don't plan to return.
