Valencia is the place to get the best Jamon! This bar is always open - open in the morning for breakfast, doesn't close for siesta, doesn't close between 5-9pm, just always open, always inviting, always friendly. This is a big deal when a lot of other restaurants are not open when a tourist like me not used to Spanish eating times want to get a good meal!
Besides the convenience, I think the Jamon speaks for itself. They have a giant piece of ham leg right by the window that you see them carving into for every order. It is fresh and almost melts in your mouth. The Jamon (cured ham) is also really delicate in flavor, not too salty at all. Besides this, they also serve a variety of sausages (blood sausage, regular salami, other cured hams, cheese, and tortilla de patata) to name just a few on their extensive tapas menu. The prices were really good - for example, a combo meal of 4 tapas on toast, 2 beers - for $12 euros. Not bad at all. The staff were also really friendly and we got by with our broken Spanish. read more
