I started seeing Michael in December 2017 for spinal stenosis and spondylosis thesis that had left my back and the backs of my legs numb for several years and made standing and walking a constant problem. I came home from a FL trip with a blood clot in my leg. The pain was excruciating. I found out what it was in the ER where they prescribed blood thinners with side effects like brain bleeds and stroke. As a former respiratory therapist who spent 15 years in the ER and ICU trenches of our modern hospital systems, when I clocked out for the final time of my career, I swore that the next time I would darken the door of a doctor's office or a hospital, it would be only because I was dragging my own severed limb behind me. As a healthy 41yr old woman who rarely gets sick, I've been ill for 2 solid months. I've seen 3 doctors and 1 acupuncturist and I still have no answers or see the light at the end of the tunnel...that is until I met Michael. He combines acupuncture with Chinese medicine. He is incredible knowledgeable and I only had to give him the basics (of my problem). He figured out the rest by working his magic. I have to say that I've always been a little skeptical about acupuncture but after seeing 3 different doctors who just prescribed antibiotic after antibiotic (mixed with steroids and an inhaler....plus another medication for anxiety (which I got after damaging my liver with so many antibiotics)), I lost faith in the medical world. For 6 years I have struggled with hot flashes and night sweats as well as other post menopausal symptoms. I have experienced low back pain for ten years which had gotten progressively worse culminating in the last three years being almost constant pain. I found Mike Norris out of desperation. I had an unprecedented bout with the hiccups, which lasted for ten days. So glad I sought treatment with Michael at Deep River Wellness! I'd had jaw pain for months for which my dentist, my MD nor a oral surgeon could find a cause.
