Dee Kitchen serves the best Thai/Vietnamese food in The Idaho Falls area. Pad Thai is the standard dish for comparing Thai restaurants and Pho is the metric for Vietnamese restaurants. I would give the Pad Thai an 8.3 out of 10 and the Pho a 7.9 out of 10 compared to other restaurants I've visited across the US and parts of Asia. The taste and spice level here have always been consistent when we order, regardless of whether we dine in or take out. The staff are very polite and accommodating when it comes to ordering for kids. The dining area and restrooms have always been clean when we visit. They've added plastic partitions since the pandemic started and I've seen how thorough they clean between patrons. From beginning to end- unfortunately- our experience was less than ok. First things first-- my son ordered the drunken noodles-, and I ordered the Tom Kah- with crispy tofu--**extra spicy . After a considerable wait time- my son was served the drunken noodles. It consisted of egg noodles- red peppers, onions and 3 tomato wedges. 14 minutes later- I was served a medium sized bowl of Tom Kah-- I asked the waitress if that was typical for the kitchen to send out food almost 15 minutes apart from the other guest receiving their food? "She said yes that's how we've always done it that's how it's supposed to be done" really???? Ok. At that point my son had taken 3 bites of the drunken noodles and asked me to taste.....yeah....taste- nope- there was no taste. Like greasy noodles with a Few scattered veggies. Hoping my soup would be better-- I was sorely disappointed-- once again no flavor. Tasted like milk and broth. There was plenty of tofu, but not much else......unless onions qualify as veggies-- I had no veggies or spice in my soup. So maybe 1 1/2 Cups of broth and milk- tofu and onions......hmmmmm. Well- it gets worse, yep. After asking the waitress to speak to the manager- she heads to the kitchen and brings out the bubble tea we ordered 40 minuets previous. Again asking to speak to a manager-- she states "sure I'll be right back". She heads back to the kitchen again and returns 10 minutes later and states "the manager isn't here today". So I ask her if I can speak to somebody in charge? At what time she states "you can't speak to the manager... They're not here". At this time I feel like I'm going in circles. So I handed her a piece of paper and just asked her if she could write down a number where I could reach a manager or if I could have somebody who is in charge give me a call? She then says she'll be right back and goes back into the kitchen and returns with the head cook. I asked the head cook if she was in charge? She stated yes -she was back in the kitchen -helping the cook... Now I'm really confused.......(?). She asked me if my food was bad? And I gave her the rundown at which time she blamed the cook back in the kitchen and said it was somebody new she was training. I ask her if there's a manager I can speak to and she states "yes I'll talk to you..." At this point I'm not sure if there's a language barrier or if I'm not making myself clear. I ask her if she's the manager? She does not answer me -she just again says she was "sorry the food was bad "and she would "tell the new cook." Ok- this is stupid- I really got the feeling that she was either the owner or the manager and was just trying to get out of taking care of the business . So I just tell her fine... And "we're ready to go... "At which time the waitress leaves us the check for the tea and the two meals which have not been eaten... OK we're not looking for a free meal here- but how ridiculous is it to pay for something you did not get the way it was promised or stated on the menu- or could not eat- nor did not eat? The waitress seemed floored when I told her I didn't think we should have to pay for anything because we didn't eat it. Her words were "you ordered it so you should pay for it..." I have to say- this all happened a week ago. I have left messages for the manager to call me back or the owner to call me back or someone in charge to call me back along with my information... And I've heard from no one. So I decided to leave a review hoping someone who cares about the place might read it and make some changes. This is really good place to eat. The menu has lots of choices including vegetarian. I had the Tom Yum soup. Yum!!!!! Was great for a cold night and plenty of veggies and tofu. Spice level of 3 was perfect. Also had the fresh vegetable spring rolls. Really good. My husband had the Pad See Ew with chicken. Also very good and the chicken was not dry. Will eat there again this trip and on future trips. Definitely would recommend Dee Kitchen if you want tasty food and really nice service. read more

My husband and I were here visiting our kids who go to BYU-I in Rexburg from Las Vegas and have to say this is one of the best Thai restaurants we've ever been to- we ordered so many dishes ( we were pretty hungry from a day of hiking!) from pho to pad see-euw, green curry, pineapple fried rice and cucumber salad and they were all full of flavor, just the right amount of spice and even some to take home for leftovers. Dishes are big enough to share and even the pho is plenty for 2! Happy to see that my kids suggested this restaurant and happy see more diverse selection of food choices in Idaho Falls- service was great and attentive and plan to come back every time we come for a visit! read more

I ordered pineapple fried rice and chicken skewers, and my friend ordered the house curry. My main issue is that the pieces in the rice were huge, and only had 2 shrimp total, and the chicken in the rice were still cold. It's obvious that they just throw stuff in a wok for a minute without chopping. I love onions, but I can't fit huge pieces of chicken, pineapple, and onions in my mouth comfortably. The shrimp were whole and still had their tails too. I ordered level 4 spicy and it wasn't anything, meanwhile my friend ordered level 2 and when I tried some of her food it was really spicy, and her curry just had huge pieces of broccoli and huge chunks of tofu. The flavor wasn't all that great, and the service wasn't good either. Two stars reflects my experience with the Pho here. I have no idea how their Thai food is. Maybe it's phenomenal, but I was in the mood for Pho and decided to come here because of the high rating and the first thing written in their name is "Pho Noodles". Needless to say, I was thoroughly disappointed. They should just give up on the Pho and take it off the menu. Not only is their steak and beef ball pho over-priced, they charged me a dollar for extra green onion because of (insert BS reason here). As for the pho itself, the broth is NOT authentic. It is dark, it is sweet, it has non of the Vietnamese beef broth flavors I was craving and which are a prerequisite to being called "Pho". Just because you put noodles into some nasty beef broth, doesn't make it Pho. I've had some of the best Pho across the states, and payed less than I did for the rubbish they're peddling here. Maybe their Thai food is good, I'll never know because I'll never return. For those looking for a good bowl of Pho, avoid this place like the plague. read more

Beef was weird. Spring rolls (or egg rolls... not sure) delightfully cooked to a nice crisp. How many more adjectives could I have used right there? Get them. Fried rice delectable. Broccoli beef... once again, hard pass. I don't think beef is their thing which is fine they did well on everything else. THE VERDICT: New best place in IF for some Thai. Chicken satay... delicious. Yum and yum! First time visiting Dee Kitchen, and have to say I was impressed. The decor is modern and the place was very clean, and the service was quick, very attentive and our server was welcoming and friendly. The menu is extensive and had so many wonderful sounding dishes it was hard to choose. After perusing the menu, my friend and I both decided on the #26 - Rare Beef Pho, and it was heavenly! (And the bowl was ginormous!) The broth was delicious and fragrant, served with a plate of bean sprout, jalapeño and an herb that we thought might be some kind of sage. (It had a licorice note to it, with a minty flavor as well, but not like any mint that I am familiar with, as I'm used to cilantro being served with pho. It was tasty though.) The noodles were good, and the beef was thin sliced and super tender, and cooked to perfection in the hot broth. So tasty! I'm looking forward to going back soon to try the Papaya salad and a number of other appetizers and entrees. After living in the Little Saigon area of Orange County, CA, it's wonderful to be able to have some authentic Vietnamese and Thai food in our little town. Best pho I've had in over 2 years. My husband and I love this place. When we first found it we were going about once a week, sometimes more. Our favorites are the pad Thai, drunken noodles, green curry, and house special curry. My only complaint is that sometimes they bring us one dish before the other instead of at the same time but since it's usually just us we don't really care. The food comes out super fast and is so delicious. The overall ambiance is great too. Good lighting and some light music. We've only ever seen a man and a woman in there so I can only assume that these are the owners. They are so sweet and always fast to fill up water and check in. The price is great too! The appetizers are a little pricey, so sometimes we just get a third entree because it's about the same as getting an app. This is our favorite spot in the area for sure! read more

Dee Kitchen is a fabulous Thai food place with the best phō noodles I have found in the Idaho Falls area. The prices are a very good value for your money. We were treated with the utmost respect. Our server was so sweet. He seemed to be able to read our minds. This is a fairly good restaurant for children. My three year old always loves places where chopsticks are readily available. There isn't a playground or anything but it wasn't stiffly silent and the server loved my son. The decor is tastefully done and was also very entertaining to my three year old son. The first thing we noticed was the absolute cleanliness of this restaurant. It was sparkling clean without so much as a speck of dust. We enjoyed the Vietnamese spring rolls and the very crispy orange chicken. The Phō was perfectly seasoned. If you have ever looked into making Phō you will see it is a process that can take generations. Dee must have some good family roots. The vegetables are nice and fresh. I recommend trying it.
