Specialties
We've been connecting people to Jesus and walking them through life transformation since 1986. It was then that Michael and Kathi Pitts planted Cornerstone Church in Toledo OH.
Since October 2019, Phil and Meredith Ryburn have served as the Lead Pastors. Our services are vibrant, interactive, family-friendly, racially-diverse, presence-driven expressions of our love of God.
In 2026, Cornerstone Church became Declare Church. This name reflects both our vision to be Heaven's declaration on the Earth and our mission to Lead the lost to life, build resilient faith and Declare Jesus everywhere.
History
Established in 1986.
Cornerstone Church Toledo was planted by Michael and Kathi Pitts. On the first service, 35 people came to the original location, a store-front building on Central and Douglas. Since then, Cornerstone has moved three times, and now meets in the Maumee Marketplace next to the Antique Mall.
In 2019 the church leadership transitioned to Phil and Meredith Ryburn. In January of 2026 the church was renamed Declare Church, to align itself with it's new vision and mission.
Meet the Manager: Phil R.
Phil and Meredith Ryburn serve as the Lead Pastors at Declare Church. After spending almost a decade in various roles, they were installed as Lead Pastors in October 2019.
The couple met in Sydney, Australia, where Phil grew up, and where both attended Bible College. Then in 2012, they married in Hawaii - chosen for its beautiful beaches, and strategic proximity to both sets of families.
Phil and Meredith believe they have been created to serve and are committed to continual improvement. Their marriage is full of laughter, purpose, and a relentless pursuit of Biblical Justice.
Together they are raising their children in Northwest Ohio. Family time involves being outdoors as much as is possible as they explore the Metroparks, savoring the region’s growing cafe culture, and enjoying the adventure of where God leads each day.
