I have been a customer of Pretty Hair Salon since March 2021. Pretty offers services such as…read morehaircuts, single-process color, full and partial highlights, balayage, foilyage, perms, keratin treatments, facial waxing, lash lift and tint, bridal hair and makeup, etcetera. I usually schedule my appointments through the Vagaro website. Over the years, several stylists here have done my hair. They all have started my appointments on time and spoken nicely with me. They make my haircuts the correct length, and they make my highlights a flattering tone and level. Their curling or straightening of my hair looks really good. The prices vary based on the type of service and the level of the employee. For a few years, one stylist charged me for a more-expensive balayage, although she actually did less-expensive foils. (When I first began to come here, foilyage was not on their menu, and one stylist did not know what it was and incorrectly said that my previous salon did not know what they were doing!) Furthermore, she performed add-ons without asking or telling me, and at the cash register, she whispered or wrote down these additional services to her coworker who entered them into the computer. Therefore, I deducted one star from my review for that reason. My current stylist Maleah charges me for the correct service, $192 plus tip for full foils and a haircut. For years I bought their hair products. I am not a fan of their shampoos, but I like their flyaway-fix product.

Very friendly and personable, but more than that she listened to everything I asked for in regards to my hair cut. I have lived all over the place and have had to find stylists while living abroad, in Texas, in a couple of spots in CA and now in PA. I hate finding a new stylist because you never know what you'll REALLY get. I read a great review about Nina before deciding to give Pure a shot and I am so glad I did. She got my length on point and helped me decide how the cut would work into some of the vintage hair styles I am wanting to try out. I will be back to Nina for color once I am ready for a refresh. Can't wait!

I was apprehensive about trying a new place; and let's be honest it's not a high-end salon, but I kept expectations in perspective... its a $25 cut... "what's the worst that could happen...I only need a trim." FYI, I have tried a few high-end, popular Mt Lebo / South Hills Salons. When I walked in the door the first stylist looked at me and asked if I had an appointment to which I responded yes and then she looked back down to her client and never said another word.... ok then... I didn't know what to do with that... do I wait? is she the one who's going to cut my hair? is somebody else going to cut my hair? So, I sat down and waited about 10 minutes when another woman came from the back room to greet me; asked me if I had an appointment (again) but was very kind and assured me that somebody was finishing up with another client and I would be next It was late afternoon on a Friday so I was a little impatient. Had I not been addressed by the second person I probably would've just left Thank goodness I did not let my mood get the best of me; so glad I had an opportunity to meet Nikki From the moment I sat in her chair she immediately started looking at all the angles of my hair and made a comment about what she saw and wanted to know if I thought the same thing ... for the entire appointment she asked a lot of questions and explained why my answers were important to her construction of a long-term plan. When somebody is passionate about their craft, it shows and she was the epitome of professional but more than that she was so completely dedicated to my comfort and my satisfaction. I had a preconceived idea about cost cutters. and if you do too, make an appointment with Nikki.... You will not be disappointed.

I had been to Philip Pelusi before and I wasn't wild about the service. I was also concerned about cost. In addition, I had not had much luck with hair stylists so I was unsure. As it turned out, Philip Pelusi ended up being less expensive than the other hair stylist I was going to and that place was not as high end as Philip Pelusi. The service I received was excellent. I saw Shannon and I am happy to say that I have found my hair stylist. I had been trying to go blonder for a while. I had two different stylists make me a brown, brassy blonde and another stylist thought I looked better darker. So after much past frustration, I was elated when Shannon actually WORKED with me. She listened to my concerns and wants for my hair and came up with a plan. Not only did she make me lighter but she discussed my options if I wanted to go lighter beyond that. She also suggested getting some length off due to the color variation in my ends due to past hair colors I had. I never thought of getting length off, but I am so glad she made the suggestion, I love it!!! For the first time ever, I felt like I received the true hair salon treatment. We discussed what I wanted to do and then I was consulted for a decent period of time on my options. I would definitely reccommend giving them a try, great service for a reasonable price!!!
