I asked James to gather some information before I proposed to her. He confirmed my suspicions. My girlfriend is living a double life, she lives with a man--his car is always parked at her house, and he leaves from there in the mornings. It turns out the man who was introduced to me as her brother, who supposedly lives in the same city, is not her brother at all. He's her boyfriend, and they live together. I don't know what her plan was or why she did this, but I suspect it had something to do with immigration status. Who knows how it could have ended--maybe even with accusations of abuse or something like that. I was T boned and there was a police report saying it was 100 % the other persons fault. I was young and naive and someone said to go to an attorney. I went to this jerk. They told me I wouldn't have to pay unless they got me something. They didn't do anything. I went to get my police report. I got a $5,000 settlement check and Alan told me to endorse the check to them. I questioned it and got some dumb response, but again I was young and didn't ask people for advice.
