They were advertising Lowlander beer so we took this opportunity to try the different flavors of Lowlander. Only one was on tap, however, so all the other flavors came from bottles and were poured into the glass. This was a positive note from our dinner. I was most disappointed in the food. Maybe this is my fault because I ordered the poke bowl. They had all types of food but this is what I went with. Something wasn't quite right with the fish. Based on this experience with the food, and the plethora of other options in Groningen, I won't likely return soon.

Also NOT dog-friendly. 1 communal bowl which was almost empty and sitting in the full sun next to the entrance, means you have to navigate your dog through the crowd to get to it. Our waitress also stepped on our dog's paws... Stupid approach to pet owners given your cafe is smack in the middle of a large park in Groningen.

A favorite among the local collegiate crowd from Groningen University, it was my very first stop after arriving in the Netherlands and meeting up with friends (one old, two new), and one of my favorite memories of the entire trip. Plant your tush in the plush furniture of one of the back rooms (this place seems to go on forever!), order yourself a stroopwaffel and a Spanish coffee, and shoot the sh-t with old friends and new acquaintances (or anyone sitting nearby). Or, head upstairs on a weekend night, and bump-and-grind with the (otherwise reserved and practical) Dutch party crowd that gathers here to escape the work-week drudgery of attending lectures and writing essays.
