It was plenty of food as it came with beans, a salad, an interesting apple based stew and a kind of Cole slaw. No alcohol is available so I just had tea. The mains were both rice based, one with a nut sauce, the other a tomato sauce. Both tasted very nice. The decor is sparse and simple and it's probably one of the only restaurants I've been too that didn't play any music. It did seem a little expensive for what we got but not outrageous. Not sure what this means but other than my wife and I everybody was dining alone....hmmm.

You will be surrounded by hippies, students, and other interesting people. Dogs are allowed, but I only see one or two there at a time. They have a set 'meal of the day' so you only get one choice for soup, one choice for entree, and once choice for dessert. However, the price you pay will be something like 7 euros for a 3 course meal. The colorfulness of the dish won't disappoint. It is always an interesting motley mix of nicely spiced (not hot, but flavorful) of food, so you don't even realize the entire dish was missing meat. You have to register (or "subscribe" as they say in Holland) that afternoon so that they know how much food to make. To register, just give them a call and give them your name(s). Oh yeah, they also have musicians playing sometimes. I'm not sure exactly when. But it could be annoying if you're trying to have a conversation. There is an organic shop where you can buy all sorts of organic (or "biological" as they say in Holland) products. Food + cleaning supplies. Also, I don't know if it's still there, but 3 years ago, there was a record shop in the back. I'd say that's pretty awesome! Overall, I highly recommend the place!

The frites and ravioli were my two least favorite. If you're craving sweets, you can get some toetje right here. The chocolate mouse was wonderful - light yet satisfying - I'd get it again.

It will set you back about 30 euros but it is worth every penny. Reservations are advised and I recommend fasting well before your meal. 10-courses is a lot of food. Every week the menu is different. Here's what I experienced: 1. Rucola-walnut cream with bread 2. Chopped mango with cream of date, poppadom 3. Beets topped with horseradish creme fraiche, stewed pear, green salad with walnuts and smoked cheese 4. Stuffed pasta shell, ricotta/spinach/arugula, cherval (herb) 5. The name translates to 'head of the land' as the geography of the area comes to a point with the waterways there. I cannot recommend this place more highly. Everything from the decor, to the service, to the food is excellent. They have a B&B as well if you think you can't make it home after the tasting menu. It seems shocking that this place does not have a Michelin star(likely because Michelin is meat-biased) but for that I'm grateful. Kop is a diamond in the rough.
